American House

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and knows everyone on a first name basis. Issues are addressed immediately. The environment is friendly and welcoming. The residents all get along and care about one another. Activities, e entertainment and family days and events are enjoyable and well planned out. They actually hired a new cook to assist the head chef and the food choices are already improving. Main issue was overcooked and over seasoned dishes.

All questions asked, and some that were not articulated, were answered quickly and truthfully. Food service was excellent both in choice of meals and timing of service. Medical care was a bit of a challenge -- in-house "doctor" availability was few and far between. If resident does not have access to personal (or relative) transportation, House PC/nurse on duty very active and professional, but she was not an MD.

I did have to move my dad into a nursing home in Oct 2023 due to the progression of his dementia. I would have loved to keep him in Am. House memory care but it was cost prohibitive and they do not take Medicaid. His experience there was wonderful. They took good care of my dad while he was there. They really knew him and cared about him as a person. He enjoyed the church sermons and loved the live music that they had several times a week.

From move in to now. Our friend was welcomed by staff and residents she is pending in well and participates in many event. After 50 years in a prior location she is happy again and sees am house as her new house and family.

"Hats off" to a wonderful and caring staff- delicious meals lots of fun and interesting activities are available. Living here is like adopting a family of friends as everyone seems so friendly and we all look out for each other! Moving here has been wonderful experience all the way around.

I feel so at home here. The residents are wonderful and the staff are friendly, helpful and so supportive. Never have I felt unwelcome. From day one, it was so amazing to be addressed by name. Seeing how prepared all was during the hurricane season was the icing on the cake.

Good staff. Friendly people and staff love of activities (I do not need that many). Good service when you need help repair on maintenance. Perfect place in senior.

American House is like a small community, but more like a large extended family who cares for each other. Activities include jigsaw puzzle, various game choice by residents, movies in the theater, as well as worship opportunities, local musicians, pet therapy visits, various outings of interest, creative art projects etc. A therapy company has friendly and competent personnel and equipment on site. And the dining experience is superiors to other facilities my husband has encountered elsewhere. Monthly dinner for family also.

Resident for about 2 years. Excellent location for shopping etc. New construction with good support facility, safe location for storm. (zone E). Auxiliary pointer for emergencies. Meals are very good and varied- well served. On-site gym and PT transportation available for non drivers to usual sites Overall excellent but I don't like the soft water.

I have lived here 2 years and have been treated fairly. Dining servers have been helpful and cleaning crews. Maintenance has been available for my needs. The community has envelops me as family which has been very important to me. Especially since my husband passed.

Living here has been a wonderful experience There have been many improvements in every area. The various directors are always accommodating and are willing to listen. There are many activities appealing to variety interest of the residents. I feel safe and secure here. The food is great and nutritious.

During out recent hurricanes the staff and management went there to insure our safety and comfort.

I love living at American House. My apartment is comfortable and well maintained. The entire building is spotless and I'm proud to have visitors. The residents are friendly and fun. We are a happy community.

In just a meeting of a few days, I have been leaving in assisted for 3 years just after it's opening. In this period of time I have come to realest there is no better place to be. The facility itself is beautiful and the staff amazing. I believe there is only one place to be. American House.

I came to American shortly after it opened 3 years ago. The building is well maintained and has kept residents safe through 3 major hurricane. There are a variety of apartments available from small studio to 2 bedroom, 2 bath units. A variety of activities are offered but there is no pressure to participate. Lunched transportation in provided to shopping and doctor appointments. The staff is warm and friendly. The food is average. These is limited choice for deliver. Breakfast is a highlight lunch is not provided out which have fill working capacities.

It is pricey, but for the area we are in, it is a good value. Everyone is very nice. There are some meals she doesn't like. They do have meetings about the meals and listen to the residents. They have many activities for residents.

We knew we were going to have to move I could no longer able to cook every night and take care of our house. We were one of the first residents to move in. We've been very happy since day one. People staff and administrators have been wonderful don't think my husband or I would be doing as well if we were living in any other facility.

The meals get a 5+. The staff are employees and retention is high. RN's present in the building. Chef prepared meals. Dining options on floor as well as formal dining room and bistro. Great for friends to be able to "come for lunch or dinner" and feel like it's a restaurant. Security check in. Locked doors after 8:00pm

The facility is one of the cleanest I’ve been to. The care is amazing. I constantly get updates whenever something is needed for my grandfather. It’s a lovely facility. There’s lots of activities. Security is great.
