American House

So far 5. [name removed] has been there one month. Everyone updated me with visits and any situations. I understand [name removed] doesn't eat much or refuses but I'm sure meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From the pictures I see on website, rooms are large and easy to maneuver with wheelchairs. I did a virtual tour as I live out of state.

Everyone is so nice. I compared several different facilities and found this to offer different layouts and a variety of free amenities. This was the best value.

American House is a nice place with great people. My wife and I live in a beautiful large one bedroom and are happy to be here. We have made great friends, stay busy everyday with activities that we all like to do and the employees have really made the place even more special. I can truthfully say I do not think we would be as happy as we are at any other community and I recommend it to all of my friends or anyone who has asked.

The apartments are large compared to most facilities and have full kitchens. The staff is very kind and attentive.

My mother- in-law has made a lot of friends and is a very active member of the community. She seems to be very happy there. It's a very clean, updated facility. They have a great staff and have had staff members there for a long time. They have really nice family nights. She's not so crazy about the food but the kitchen has worked really hard to accommodate her preferences and food sensitivities. She doesn't need any extra services at this time. It will be easier than if we had waited until she was in need of more care. She's doing the senior independent living experience.

I moved from Texas almost a year ago to be near family in FL as I age and will eventually need assistance. From the initial contact of being shown the facility on a weekend before I flew home, my family and I knew this was where I would move. There was a waiting list, but all the staff worked with my family here to finalize an apt. All the staff are accommodating and caring for the residents. There are plenty of activities, and the dining experience is exceptional. I am independent, but there are services in place to help those who need assistance - therapy, in-home help, etc.

I would recommend it. Unfortunately my mother was only there for 9 days. Everyone was very helpful.

This community is absolutely stunning and everyone is so friendly! My aunt is a resident st American house, and my family and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to move her here! She’s having a blast! Thank you, American House team!

We moved my Mom to Memory Care here and it was a fantastic decision. I cannot say enough good things about this place, our mom is happy and well cared for. My family and I were sad when we came to the realization she needed to move but after this experience with American house we wish we had done it sooner.

A decision I thought was going to be the worst and hardest decision of my life became one of the best decisions I could have made. My Mother moved into memory care at American House and it was a very emotional situation for my family, the caring staff and management team there quickly took us under their wing and have been absolutely amazing to her. You can tell her spirits are lifted, she’s singing again and it’s just unbelievable the change for the good we’ve witnessed in our mother since we moved her in and it’s all because of American House. If you're struggling with the decision to move a loved one into memory care, please take it from me, American House has been a true blessing for our entire family. We are endlessly grateful for everyone there.

I've been a resident at American House since January and I feel fortunate to live here. From the moment I moved in, my experience has far exceeded my expectations. I've made many wonderful friends, I feel safe, and I enjoy each day here. I highly recommend this community it’s a fantastic place to live.

The employees the direct contact people are the best. Yes, we would recommend American House Oak Park to other families based on the experience so far.

I have a family member living here and the care is impeccable. The meals are delicious which is not often the case for a care facility. The staff really makes the residents feel like family and they truly care about everyone living there.

The best place out of the 4 other places I have had mother in !!! She can eat the food They take her to dialysis She is clean ! She never smells. They only laundry ?? her sheets and towels I do her clothes !

My mother is very happy there. Everyone is very nice to her and checks on her often, never letting her forget to eat or go to an activity. She was very lonely in her home and now has a community. She is so busy that I rarely find her in her room when I call.

The staff are amazing and truly gifted. I think the atmosphere is positive and caring and really nice - I talked with a new resident who said it was like a luxury hotel, and I agree.

After touring this facility, we signed my sister here. Unfortunately she became ill before we were to move her in. The staff at American House went out of their way to keep her apartment open and check with us from her recovery She is now able to move in and we are so looking forward to this. The staff had made her feel very welcome and we are confident this is the best place for her. We can't thank them enough.
