Communication with Home matters was difficult. Our caregiver missed at least 3 days even though we were only having her come 2 days a week and we had just started service. We were not given any notice that our caregiver was not coming. Very disappointing. So we cut ties with them and went with another service

Well, response time from them seemed slow at times. Since I've not used any other service, I don't have anything to compare with them.

They sucked. Their scheduling was erratic, communication poor, candidates for caregiving were not suitable for my needs. I was t allowed to interview candidates, they just sent people until I found one I liked, leaving me constantly showing people around, confusing my husband and paying for unqualified candidates . I didn't want to pay for snow days. I was charged for hours I did not book. Finally found one gal we really liked and after three weeks she didn't show up. No one notified me she wasn't coming back. I went to an appointment assuming she would be arriving shortly...returning to find out my husband was alone. No one let us know she wasn't coming or that she was having personal problems. After that I put in my notice. They are expensive for what they offer!

They took money out of my mom's account after she passed without authorization or notice. I feel they owe me still $[fee removed]. THEY CLAIM MY CARE TakER WORKED ExTRA HOURS.. I ASKED FOR THE SIGNED TIMESHEET AUTHORIZING THE EXTRA TIME. THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND.. NEVER DID. IT TOOK ME 4 EMAILS AND 5 PHONE CALLS BEFORE SOMEONe WOULD GET BACK TO ME. I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE RECOMMEND KATRIX. THE COMPANY IS HORRIBLE AND DISHONEST

Initial visit was great. Calls to administrators were responded to quickly. Caregiver was very kind. We would maybe recommend there services to other families, maybe If there was stronger oversight of caregivers. However, even based on this experience I would not choose this company again

There were too many things left hanging. Caretakers were very good and professional. [name removed] was fabulous. [name removed]...not so much. I was not happy with the deposit. It is chaos until you complain.

Initially (first 2-3 weeks) pleased, but NOT at all please after that. We canceled them and the service. Their management was not great at all. Would not return my calls, etc. They seemed to truly care very little about the patient (My Mom) and only worried about there new organization or their reorg / buyout. Would not recommend to anyone and would never use them again Friendliness and Quality of Care of from the actual provider who was at my Mom's house gets a 5 but the Home Instead management staff get a 1. As for Value for Cost it is average to slightly above average. $[removed] per hour seems a bit high to me. We have family members in the home care business and it even seemed a bit high for them for the specific services provided for my Mom Again, I would NOT recommend them

I would not recommend Kimbell Home Care Services to anyone looking.

Very rude scheduler. My mom was dying and I’m 28 and had no family except for a family friend helping me with my mom so I was calling and rescheduling things many times and she was very rude about me calling and rescheduling so often. You are supposed to be compassionate to people with dying family. I’ve also heard some not so great things about caregivers but mine was okay. They could do some of the things I needed them there for but luckily I only had them there a day since my mom passed quickly.

My father needed care after rehab. I choose visiting angels based on the services they provide. I was very disappointed in the personnel they sent. They did not provide the services advertised. Calls and e-mails were not answered in a timely matter. There were times when no one showed up and no replacement was sent. Scheduling caregivers was difficult for them. I would not recommend using this service.

The quality of staff that had been sent to take care of my mom had dropped significantly in the past couple of years, and in the final year, no one care giver was ever assigned to take care of her, which is different from the original treatment she had received when first hiring them. Some of the staff were unprofessional, using cars filled with junk (some of the junk needed to be removed from the passenger seat and left in my mom’s driveway when taking her to doctors appointments because there was not enough space in the car for both a passenger and the junk in the car). When confronting them about this employee, our concerns were dismissed. Other care givers would arrive and disappear an hour without checking on my mom. Often staff would call in sick and not come to take care of my mom, and no replacement had been arranged by ComForCare. Additionally, the accounting department was unprofessional, blaming us for mistakes which had been made on their end.

I would never refer them to other families. It was all about the money and in the end, the lady who owns it was very rude. It all seemed great in the beginning, but right off the bat they were not able to get any staff out to us. There was one point they could not get anyone out to us for 3 weeks.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and I would find another service. There was no consistent staff members, they had different staff members sometimes. Some caregivers were late and not dependable.

I would not recommend this service to others based on our experience. The caregivers were inconsistent and we didn't feel like we got our money's worth.

ALthough there were several very nice caregivers, one in particular was very good, the main issue was that My mom's home became a revolving door. there were so many different people and most of them had not been trained or monitored to know the routine and the requirements. So each new person would have to be taught by a separate person I hired who had been with my mom for a while. Mom required 24/7 care . Scheduling was difficult for this company so mom never knew who was going to show up,. Eventually I required a schedule be provided. It was very difficult for my mom to feel really taken care of as she could not expect the same person daily. We asked to limit the number of new people. Eventually Mom did not do well as she was not getting cleaned properly and ended up in the hospital with an infection. After the hospital she was release for rehab in a nursing home, but within a couple of weeks, the infection grew worse and she died of sepsis. This agency was only there from 3 PM to 10 AM and then weekends.

To be clear this review is for Maple Farm which is owned by Garden Spot. Overall all I would say they are ok. Very much over priced. We pay $150k per year and they are WAY understaffed. Can take more then 30 min to respond to call button which is unacceptable. People are very friendly but at this cost we are considering pulling out and just getting full time personal care as they don't have any time to provide any companionship time with the patients.

My Mom liked [removed] and one of the meetings she didn't like one of the other people that [removed] sent. Although she didn't feel like she needed this service, did use it a couple times for doctor appoint.

I thought the people that came out and did the evaluation were very nice, all that was all fine but the disconnect came with what the management promised versus what the girls that came out actually did. The management promised things that the caregivers were not able to do.

They are okay, unless you have the overnight person, then they are not very good at all. The night people have been sleeping when they should be awake, and we have found them to be somewhat verbally abusive as well. They seem to be good during the daytime shifts, but if you are looking for overnight, I wouldn't recommend them for anything past 7:00 at night. I liked the fact that they did multi-state background checks, which is one main reason I went with their agency.
