Electronics to help guide the patient, and allow us to communicate with the patient were not used or demonstrated as discussed. Care personnel was changed frequently. Often the helpers were late or no show. The care giver would leave the residence while she was supposed to be in the home.

This company provided in home care for my husband and myself when we needed it. All of the care takers were very good and provided excellent care for both of us. They helped with care but also took care of laundry, dishes and cleaning. They also provided transpirtation to medical appointments.

Everyone was very friendly throughout the assessment and entry process but when it came to actual coverage, if Home Instead was unable to find staff for the scheduled shift, we were called with very short notice that they were unable to provide coverage. We cancelled after a short period of time. Not exactly sure how the system works but it seems that if staff did not pick up the shift then we received the call. Shouldn’t staff be scheduled to meet the needs of clients? I was told it is usually like this in the beginning but we needed it to be good from the start. Recently heard the same concern from another person in the community.

We wanted someone to help around the house with laundry, cooking and cleaning. As well as being a companion with my wife. They company ended up sending several different people. None of which met our expectations. All of them were fairly young and didn't seem to have more than basic household cleaning or cooking skills. They also generally had minimal communication skills. We both felt uncomfortable with them.

The cost was not acceptable. The hourly rate of more than $[removed] per hour was not reasonable for a retired person to afford. We are both on fixed income and Medicare. My wife has Alzheimer’s disease and she has me as her caregiver. I have more responsibility than I can handle and need in home support from this agency. I don’t have any other options to help me through this very difficult situation.

We had problems with Guardian Angels Home Care. At first, the director could not find someone to do the hours we needed. Then, the first caregiver was young, inexperienced, and did not do the tasks we agreed on. I caught her sleeping during lunch when I showed up unexpectedly. I told the director I did want her back and discontinued services. It took a long time for Mom to agree to another service. We went with Home Instead and were very pleased.

They did not provide what they said they would. They changed times and sent someone who slept on the job. Did not show up on time, communication with office was fine but help didn't show up until after I had to leave to catch a flight!

The administrator, [name removed], drug his feet about providing "the plan" he said was being developed by his mgr. I had to ask pointedly what the hourly rate would be. He just didn't seem to be a good business person. I would not recommend Sr Helping Sr to anyone!

After 3 months of waiting for a job to be filled any many phone calls and text messages, no one was able to fill our needs for the end of November for 2 weeks. It was very disappointing and on the day I was to pay in advance and in full they told me they couldn’t fill the job.

On the first day Right at home sent a caretaker that did not have transportation when it was a need and priority discussed.They also did not show up on the second day of care for my father. They called him about 45 mins after the time they were supposed to be there to say they didn’t have a caretaker for him. They did say they were working on it and trying to find someone but didn’t think they could until late that day or following day. I called to voice my concerns and the way it was handled and how I was treated was not acceptable. I knew then that I did not want to work with a company like that so I told them I wanted to cancel services. They would not let me get out of the two week notice to cancel and required us to stay with them an additional 2 weeks. They did end up sending a good reliable caretaker at the end during our two week notice period but overall how everything was handled I did not want to stay with them. Management there is very unprofessional to say the least!!!!!

Failed to show up twice with no call to let anyone know. We had one lady that was exceptional, but that was one day only. The rest would either just sit & do very little or would vacuum but it was not a good job. Stopped services after 2 weeks & have hired another person.

The management was responsive and nice, but the workers were not good. I can't blame the company, but workers were either late, didn't want to do much of anything, asked to leave early, and missing items. I think the company tried their best, but quality of workers were bad.

The caregivers were, unreliable and not well trained. One came specifically to drive my mom on errands and did not have car insurance. Another was supposed to help my frail [age removed] dad shower and didn't have a clue how to do that.

The nurse on staff there made it a very stressful experience. I would not recommend their services to other families looking for in home care.

They started well with intake , then when aides were scheduled. Either late or no shows, client had to call office to be told aide had family emergency etc and would not be there. After 4 weeks of only 2 visits that were supposed to be twice a week and phone call from office that said now they must see her at least 3 x a week. What a joke they can even show up 2 x a week let alone 3 x. They were let go , then we were told they would keep the deposit on services !!! We requested a refund do to their complete lack of communication and not showing up ( which was never refunded ).

Overall, the experience wasn't very good because HOME INSTEAD got bought out by another company and once they were bought out by another company, they were rather in flexible with their times and the provider that we got initially, and my mom was comfortable with and wanted to rework her schedule and provide us with two separate Providers, which would never have worked so we basically quit them after about 2 to 3 months into it. To be totally honest, I would not recommend HOME INSTEAD.

This new management took over the residential property on Hannah Lane, Rocky Mount, NC. Their lack of customer service is appalling in the management of maintaining exterminating services & landscaping ; hedges are no longer being trimmed and are filled with spider webs which ultimately results in additional unwanted pests to households. Some residents are overrun with bugs to the point where it gets into their food and has to be thrown away; and are seen all over their apartment.

Staff: Company Representative made a very detail presentation of services and patient support. I give him a 5 for his excellent presentation. Staff: the care giver assigned to my wife appear to be new on the job. She was not proactive at all. She didn't perform simple tasks, such as cleaning, very well. Our regular cleaning lady had to come and clean the room. She was on the phone constantly. Lastly, in the short period of time she work for us, missed two days and one day left sick after working only 1:45 hrs. Staff was not very reliable. her overall performance 2.5. Her performance didn't come close to the services represented/offered at the presentation by the company owner. I couldn't recommend this care giving company.

I would give both providers a 2. The first one didn't give me monthly receipts as I asked for my insurance so I let them go. The second one billed it to my husband and not to me so my insurance dropped my case. The third required a 5 thousand dollar deposit. We have stopped looking since I have to start all over again with the insurance process.

I had 3 caregivers that were top rate. Some night caregivers that slept on the job. One that forged my name on time sheets at least 10 times. Admin staff that never confirmed any time sheets. They just charged my credit card to death. To the tune of $[removed]. Which was $[removed] over my limit. I would never recommend them as a company.
