Theft of service is rampant. They cannot provide what they promise. The turnover of staff and management is so frequent that no one actually knows (or cares) about the decline in EVERYTHING. the food service is HORRENDOUS. The portions, the prices, and the quality of the food is pathetic. An hour to order, another hour, at least, to be served. If it comes out right at all. Double billing on rent.. lies upon lies. Soft spoken but completely full of. BS. $[removed] for a two bedroom??? 1200 sqft?? Keep your house and have professional health care at home. REVEL SEES YOU COMING.. Assisted Living Facility Feedback Response Thank you for requesting feedback. I feel compelled to share our experience as it involves serious care concerns that need immediate attention. Overall Experience (Rating: 1/10) Our family has been deeply disappointed with the level of care provided. The combination of unresponsive staff, poor organization, and inadequate attention to residents' medical needs has created an unsafe environment for my mother and other residents. Quality of Care (Rating: 1/10) This is our most serious concern. My mother was recently transported to the hospital for severe anemia requiring a blood transfusion. The staff failed to recognize or adequately respond to her declining health condition. Call buttons go unanswered for 30+ minutes, leaving residents in distress and potentially dangerous situations. The staff appears undertrained and lacks the clinical skills necessary for proper resident care. Administrative Staff (Rating: 1/10) The facility director consistently makes excuses rather than taking responsibility for systemic problems. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns about care quality, the administrative response has been dismissive and defensive. This leadership approach prevents meaningful improvements to resident care. Cleanliness (Rating: 3/10) My mother's living space is consistently dirty despite paying for cleaning services. The housekeeping staff does not perform thorough cleaning, leaving surfaces dusty and bathrooms unsanitary. This creates health risks, particularly for elderly residents with compromised immune systems. Dining Experience (Rating: 1/10) The dining situation is unacceptable. Residents are required to sit in the dining room for up to one hour before food is served, which is particularly difficult for those with mobility issues or dementia. The food quality is poor, and the extended waiting times suggest serious organizational problems in the kitchen and meal service. Friendliness (Rating: 4/10) While some individual staff members show kindness, the overall atmosphere is one of rushed, stressed employees who cannot provide the personal attention residents deserve. Value for Money (Rating: 3/10) Given the high cost of assisted living and the poor quality of care received, this facility does not provide reasonable value. Reorganization of meal service timing and food quality The recent medical emergency involving my mother could have been prevented with proper attention to her care needs. I hope this feedback will lead to immediate improvements in care quality and safety protocols.

The aids are loud and rude. They could improve by having weekly meetings on adherence and properly solving complaints that they have.

The caregivers here are wonderful but I can't say so for the management. The way they treat their staff is shameful! The emotionally and physically challenging work they do is unappreciated by management.

This place is the absolute worst. They actually had some good employees and they fired them. Some of the people there were wonderful, but they are managed by [facility removed] and they only care about the bottom dollar. On many occasions they did not give my father his medication. They did not shower him as often as they said they would. His skin was always in horrible shape. My mother and I were there every other day, sometimes more and I think that's the only reason he got the level of care that he did. They never shaved him. They were understaffed all the time. They don't pour the water to them, so that was the start of my father's decline. When I confronted the asst manager about seeing my father's medical records after his death...it miraculously took 2 hours for him to produce that. We were told by a woman we trusted that the man was in the back editing it to show he had been given all his meds. The first huge red flag was they didn't give [name removed] his meds the first night there and my mother and I sat in the lobby for an hour trying to get someone to help us get dad his medication. Please don't go to this place or any [facility removed] , they don't care about your loved one, only the bottom dollar. You will constantly have staff turnover and never any answers! Oh, and the literal nail in my father's coffin... they didn't call me when they sent him out (his final ride on EMS) to the ER. A nurse that loves Dad texted me asking how he was and I said "I don't know, you're with him". She said "no they took him out last night". I asked where and THEY HAD NO RECORD OF WHICH HOSPITAL!!! So, my father with dementia was brought in with no medical records, no nothing and had been sitting not able to breath and on a CPAP for 8 hrs alone when I was only 30 minutes away! I got there as soon as l found out. We spent the next 30 hours at his beside with him as he died from pneumonia, sepsis, and a heart attack. And we never heard from the director of the facility so much as an "I'm sorry for your loss". We were told we would get our refund in 45 days... it was 4 months later. Awful humans. They never wanted to visit about this, but when I put all this on yelp they reached out from HQ within 10 minutes.

What this community could really work to improve on is the professionalism

My mom passed away a year ago. The overall experience At Serenades was awful. Mostly due to under staffing issues and under trained staff. End of life or near end of life care was abysmal. My main regret for my mom's last days is Serenades.

Unfortunately our experience there was not a great one. We were paying for the highest level of care and dad still had to wait an unacceptable amount of time when he buzzed for help. One person blamed it on the next person and we were never able to get it resolved. He finally fell and broke a hip because he couldn't wait any longer for bathroom help and he passed shortly after that. He was left alone in his room many times when i specifically told the staff to bring him to the events and get him out of his room. The food was mediocre.

I would not and will not recommend Fox Ridge to others. What we were told in the assessment meeting, is not the same in actuality. They are sometimes very slow to answer the call button that residents get, if at all. They have a resident check out & check in process, yet apparently there is no process to make sure all pertinent staff are aware of which residents are out & which residents are back in the building. The housekeeping of resident's rooms is very lacking. The food is okay most of the time, but sometimes it is cold or dry. You can ask 2 different nurses the same question and yet you'll get 2 different answers. They are very short staffed. When nurses are passing out meds, there's no one in the nurses station to answer calls!

Poet’s Walk is there for money, they don't care about the residents care. My mom had a terrible experience with this facility and I have to move her to another facility for better care. Mom fell in this facility in her room and they never realize mom fell for almost three hours. When they were suppose to make rounds hourly. She was left wet with urine all the time. The nurse director is always clueless. I would never ever recommend this facility to friends or family

Do not put your loved one in this facility. We only had 3 good months in Year 2023 before the facility staff fell apart and care declined to a dangerous level. We eventually pulled our mom out and it was already too late. Our beautiful mom, [name removed] passed the following month on [date removed]. Behavior Issues of a loved one will only be medicated by this facility until the medication makes them a zombie. Staff to Resident Ratio is inadequate and I don't care what the State guidelines are and this facility only cares about profit. Ignore the Activity Calendar on the wall it is for show only. Do not believe a thing in your research meeting with sales -- however if the facility was really run like said in the sales pitch.. it would be a great place but its not. Again, not all staff were uncaring. Staff are underpaid. Lots of chitchatting going on and not much social interaction with the residents who just sit in the main room. The Phoenix Company owns this facility

This place is the worst I ever put my mom in the rehab. My mom waited 2 hours for held and had no answered at all. The old women next to us called 4 time she said cannot breathe at all waited 3 hours and the nurse gave her a pill died in the rehab. This the worst place I ever put my mom in there.

Do not let your loved one live here. It is woefully understaffed. There are some very nice people there trying very hard to do a good job, but they are overwhelmed. The place is not clean and once care gets near to end of life, they are at a complete loss on how to care for your loved one. Incorrectly medicating, not turning patients to prevent bed sores, poor communication, lack of training and bedside manner. I don't have nearly the space in this review to go over everything wrong with Serenades, but rest assured, you do not want anyone you love here. They will put your loved one onto Hospice almost immediately. Not to give better care, but to make more money for the facility. It is a for profit system and it shows. I wish the best for the staff who were caring and trying hard. I wish nothing but the worst for the Serenades management and the parent company of Serenades. There are plenty of other choices for care. Do not go here.

We are terribly disappointed in the facilities. My wife's mother requires very little assistance in her daily life and we were looking for great food and a classy place to live. She has gotten NEITHER. They can't seem to hire the CHEF that the literature promises. The food is much less than adequate. At the moment, she has no hot water. Earlier this year it took months to fix leaks in her shower. We are going to take this up the Elan corporate ladder and will require verified improvements, or we will go after the refunds she deserves. The fees are far too high for bad food and very poor service.

In looking for a place for my aunt from out of state I found. Sonata. I was very impressed. They visited her twice at the rehab where she was and seem like they cared about her as an individual. I signed all the papers, and gave them payment for the 10 days of May & June as well as the community fee. She was there for 4 days , then taken to the hospital in an ambulance on [date removed]. No one from Sonata came to visit her while she was in the hospital or when she was placed in hospice within the hospital. I came down from Texas as soon as I could but she passed away on [date removed]. Now Sonata is telling me they will not refund the entire month of June as they had previously said they would but would only refund me from [date removed] when I was able to pick up her clothes. They never told me that had to be done when I told them that she wasn't coming back when she was placed on hospice. I thought this place was different but they're not. It's a business. all they care about is money.

My twin sister was there! When I arrived she told me they didn’t like her! I should have listened to her! They said she couldn’t have ice cream or chicken when every she wanted them. That was a sales pitch. She was miss treated . They had bed bugs ?? The administrator was horrible and the director of nursing. Please pass them by Food was served on paper plates. If I could give them 0 score I would

It was clean. They were pretty friendly. They were deceptive about the costs, and they added in additional charges. They were not trasparent in the beginning with the costs. They could improve on their services. My loved one was not able to communicate, and they did not properly provide the level of care that was needed. I would never use this facility again.

I would not recommend the Memory Unit at The Retreat for your loved one. I recently completed an eight-month continuing bad experience for my mother. Their staff is not trained properly nor do they care. They are not honest when something goes wrong. They do not do what they say they will. Nothing changes after continued issues with promises made to do better. My mother deserved so much better. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

This is a beautiful community. However I have been looking for so much more for my mom. I have come in several times with my mom wearing the same clothes. She often smells like urine and she lives on assisted living and is embarrassed to go to activities or eat in the dining room. I can in twice to her briefs being so saturated I was embarrassed for my mom. The executive Director does not respond to my phone calls. Mom has been there 6 months and her care has steadily and obviously declined. Not enough permanent staff. There are only a few good ones. They are lazy and resent when you ask them to help with care. The food is the same and lots of evening sandwiches. There are no activities going on except for Happy Hour. Nothing stimulating. Medications are missed frequently. Hard to find a nurse even though I am told one is there every day. I sat outside the nurses office one afternoon and didn’t see a nurse the entire 45 minutes I was there. Moving her after holidays.

STAY AWAY! If you care anything about your parent or loved one, stay away from this facility. It is all “smoke and mirror”. As you walk in you will babe hit with the smell of urine. My mother was not bathed nor her hair washed for over a week till she smelled, she was dropped by staff, and needed to go to the hospital, her teeth were lost her first week, the food is dreadful and the staff never smiles Please find another place for your mom!
