It was just too big and that's why we didn't like them as much. It was larger with many more people. That's basically why we didn't chose them. I thought it would just be too much. In terms of cleanliness and all that I didn't see any places that were not good.

Homewood is a nice facility but beyond our price range.

Like this facility very much but even though it is the closest to my home they have no vacancy and it was considerably more expensive.

Management is super friendly and responsive but the CNA's is not as friendly. The food is okay. The value for the money is average but expensive.

When we toured with Beach House they were getting ready to do a commercial for the facility so all the upper management was there from other states. There were so many people there any everyone bombarded us and they were way over the top. It was a beautiful place but there was so much going on that it was a turn off for us.

I thought The Glades at ChampionsGate was nice. But I just didn’t feel the warmth that I felt at the place that I ended up choosing.

This was a good community. They had one staff member and didn't seem as friendly due to staffing.

I love the building. It's very open and sunny. I think it's better for people that have all their mental faculties, like if they were to request someone to come help them, it works well. My loved one has dementia, so we're in there often to monitor things, and I don't believe they're in there very often to check on her. So we're working through those things. They've not been responsive to our concern like I would expect. One thing I really like is when my loved one has lost her dentures or hearing aids, they've been super receptive in looking for them and taking responsibility had they not been found. But as far as overall responsiveness and making sure she's getting bathed, we're still working on that. But I feel like my loved one is happy overall, which is the most important thing.

Elan is a great place for my mom. [Name removed] at a Place for Mom went out of her way to help me find this wonderful apartment style living for my mom. [Name removed] at Elan made my mom feel right at home. As any place, Elan has room for improvement, especially in the food services, but overall this was a very good decision for our family.

Newer metropolitan complex surrounded by asphalt. Well-maintained but rather dark decor. Considered premier accomodations. Check the packages for graduated care.

Sonata is a nice-looking facility and seems to be kept clean. I wasn't there enough to know how the food was or if the activities were enjoyed by the people living there. The activities director was very enthusiastic about her job and seemed to try different things more than other homes. As for quality of care it is difficult to say as I could not visit because I was out of state. I did have difficulty trying to talk with the aides about the care the client was receiving as they were only reachable at certain times of the day. Plus, the phone calls were brief as they were in a hurry to get off the phone. I do think that in the times I saw them they were attentive to the people in the main room and dining area. My biggest issue is with the administrative staff. The head nurse rarely answered her phone, returned messages or emails. I asked for a short phone meeting a few times a month to be up to date on the client and it never did transpire. The GM is also very difficult to get a hold of. It was very frustrating for me play phone/email tag. The two best people I dealt with were the receptionists Pam and Patti. They were attentive when I called asking for assistance and even would call me back to say it had been taken care of. I had the best communication in the facility with them, and I greatly appreciated their efforts. Overall, I think Sonata has a nice set up, it seems to be well maintained, all the rooms in the building were nice, and the aides did well taking care of patients, everyone was friendly. My complaint is they need to work on communication.

[name removed] and [name removed] gave a good introduction of Addington Place. I felt that Addington was in a good location with easy access to south St. Petersburg and to the Pinnulas beaches and other points of interest in the Tampa Bay area. I felt that the facility would be adequate to meet my needs should I decide to move to a Independent Living situation. Associated rent/cost looks to be competative with similar facilities that I have visited. But when I compare amenities and apartments with my current home and my current physical situation I have decided to postpone moving at this time. But I will keep you in mind should I be forced to make a move to such facilities. Thank You

It is a beautiful building, and the staff is friendly. But they do not check on my sister every hour, particularly at night they rarely make checks. The food is good and the apartment size is good.

The room size was great, the facility was clean, the administration was very kind and helpful. The caregivers were caring but unable to give close attention. We hired someone to stay with him over night so that he would have one on one. The activities were mostly in the mornings which he had a hard time attending. The food was okay but not as healthy as we would have liked. The first day my dad was there he got lost and ended up in an empty apartment and was very confused thinking all his things were gone. On day 2 he fell, we were told on his bottom, but he had a contusion on his head that they could not explain. Overall, his level of dementia was not suitable for this facility as most of the clients there were at a lower level than he was and it was disturbing to him. He had hoped for community and activities. We ended up removing him.

I feel like the dining room, ladies and the ladies who give the medicine have a job to do and they just wanna get it done. I don't feel like they are patient or kind. Most of the staff are wonderful. And the activity people are wonderful. The lady who helps is always laughing and very kind. I love the fact that Sonata is very small and I really do think it's a good place except for maybe two people that aren't very nice.

They have been good to deal with when you can get ahold of them. My biggest complaint is their lack of availability. The administrative staff seem to arrive late, leave early, or are not there more often than not.

They are severely understaffed and the wait times for assistance are upwards of 45 minutes. That being said, the facilities are nice and there are many people there that go out of their way to help.

They appear to be somewhat short-staffed for the needs of the residents. While I’m sure they meet the required staffing levels, additional support would likely improve overall care and responsiveness. The staff genuinely try hard and seem to care about the residents, which I truly appreciate. I’m not entirely sure how often activities are offered or what the schedule looks like. My dad visits every day and rarely mentions any activities. From both his feedback and my own observations, it seems many residents spend time sitting in the TV room or resting in their rooms. This is especially true for my mom, particularly in the evenings when she experiences sundowning. Overall, I do like the staff and appreciate their efforts, but I feel there is room for improvement—especially in staffing levels and creating a more engaging, consistent daily routine for residents.

My mother has been a resident at Revel (now Liora), in Henderson Nevada, for approximately four years. When she first moved in, the food was consistently high quality, well-prepared, and something residents enjoyed. Unfortunately, since the property has changed ownership, there has been a noticeable and steady decline in the quality of the meals. Residents frequently comment on poor taste, lack of variety, cold meals and meals that feel more like an afterthought than a core service. For many seniors in independent living, dining is not just about nutrition—it’s an important part of their daily routine, socializing, and overall quality of life. The current state of the food does not reflect that understanding or quality residents were originally promised. What’s most concerning is that this is not an isolated complaint. Many residents are expressing the same concerns, and there is a growing sense of frustration and disappointment. I hope management takes this feedback seriously.
