We chose Elan Westpointe because they have a lot of activities in the memory care unit and they are well schooled in working with dementia patients. The staff are kind and the facility is very nice. The food here is very good and she enjoys is. It has seemed it took a while to get accustom to moms routine, but we are trending in the right direction. I would recommend them to any of my friends with parents who have dementia.

The community is smaller than most and I like that they receive more personalized care. The community is kept neat and clean and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The community has a big activity calendar for the residents to choose from. The building is huge and it can take a long walk to see your loved one depending on where your loved one is. The staff has been friendly. The food is really good, from what I've tasted.

The staff are hard to reach to check on our loved one. It took a while for us to set up payment the way we wanted to pay. When we visited recently it was hard to find the management team. The food is really good. There is a full activity calendar for the residents to take advantage of.

They were excellent here. The director who ran the place was an excellent communicator. The ratio of staff to residents left plenty of staff available per person. That very well could have been that they had a bigger percentage of dementia patients to care for. The food was decent, a notch better than where we moved to when we moved to a different area. It was relatively easy to leave communications and notes regarding my loved one's care. Communication is key when you're on this side of your family member's care. And their communication was great. I attribute most of that to the director. He'd had a personal experience with a loved one passing, and it was a big awakening for him. He was just very good.

The process of getting in the staff were incredibly helpful. The communication wasn't what I had expected after my loved one was in the community. I had to get an aide in addition to the memory care cost due to person issues with my loved one. They were helpful setting up on the room. Once the resident is in the community, I think they need to have more staff available to talk to you about your loved one.

The staff members were fine, we had no problems there and when it came to the care services they did what they could. However the community was not made aware of the severity of our loved ones health condition. They were lied to by another worker who evaluated our loved one. The head nurse told us they would not of accepted our loved one has a patient if they were just truthful about the condition in the first place. The food was good, she did seem to like it. When she needed help eating, they were always very accommodating.

It is quaint, and not an institutionalized community. It feels like my loved one is living in a small neighborhood. There are only 20-25 people in each building. The staff are very good to work with. They are responsive to questions over my loved one.

The rooms at the community are adequate in size, we have no complaints, however we are having some issues with the overall rates.

My mother seems to enjoy it, and there are people her age. There is a swimming pool and exercise room for some activities. COVID has made it difficult with limited visitors. There was a leadership change due to a new company buying the location. My loved one enjoys the kai fish and balcony.

This is a community of approximately 50 residents. I was pleasantly impressed with the virtual tour and the information provided by [name removed]. I have a few questions about the availability of music for him and other residents. I am concerned about the ratio between caregivers and residents, which I was told is one for every 10 residents. My other concern is his transition specifically with the need to guide him to it. I liked the place very much but I need to have more information on the chef/cook and the quality of the food. I will visit again to clarify and asked specific questions about exercises, activities, and music. Also about the possibility of my volunteering 3 hours or so every day for a couple of weeks to help with activities, and then lower to two for a couple of weeks, then one, and finally stop once we agree he has transitioned. My loved one is in the independent living area of the community. No place you will go is perfect. The communication among staff seems to be a little poor. Generally they are willing to do anything they need to do for residents.

Park Place community is always clean, and prior to the virus they did a great job when it came to the activities. This community is very attractive and it met all the needs that we were looking for. Our loved one seems to be satisfied with the food.

The staff is helpful, courteous, and friendly. Their attitude is always upbeat and helpful. The concierges are wonderful, pleasant, professional, and helpful. They do the utmost to make the residents happy. The food is of decent quality. The staff in the restaurant is wonderful, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. The female director and her staff of directors manage the property very well and are very caring and professional. Maintenance keeps the property in excellent condition, and housekeeping does, as well. The residents are from various places and appear to be knowledgeable and friendly, but, nevertheless, that is not true. They are, typically, boring. They vary in age and come with different interests, of course, which makes it difficult at times to not sit at dinner and laugh. The pool is beautiful. The activities are wonderful and allow for different choices. Overall, I am very happy in the facility and I find my day filled with different things to do.

From our standpoint, I think the most important thing is that they were able to offer diabetes management. We chose this community because of this reason and that he would be able to live in an assisted living because he wasn't ready for a nursing home yet. The caregivers are great. The food is good and they are able to offer a diabetic diet to him. The staff have been great in accommodating, managing, and persuading him to make better choices according to his dietary restrictions. I would recommend this community to other families.

The staff is very friendly. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been sending us newsletters regularly about what they are doing and planning for the residents and their safety. The price at Sonata At Coconut Creek is a bit high. It is a pretty nice place and I have no complaints.
