Overall, I would recommend this community. The benefits outweigh the weaknesses, and it is an overall a good value, especially when compared to other nearby communities. I would say the food/dining is a bit of a weakness. Quality is inconsistent, variety is lacking. They often run out of items (hamburger!) or have things on the menu that they refuse to cook (steak). Meat/fish is frequently overcooked and dry and bland. Desserts are great though! Activities are varied and numerous, as are the physical facilities. General use areas are very clean and well maintained. Staff are wonderful, warm and friendly. Weakest points are laundry facilities (woefully inadequate in number of machines), weekly unit cleaning service is very minimal/limited in scope.. Cable service is only included for a single TV. A second TV costs $[fee removed]/month. This was not made clear ahead of time. Wi-Fi signal is weak in many areas. It's slow and often goes down altogether. Transportation to doctor's appointments is very limited. This was a major attraction for us, and has been largely unavailable. When you're lucky enough to get a ride, they refuse to turn on the air conditioning in the vehicle that transports them, even with a heat index of 90-100 degrees! (Too much money they say) Huge disappointment! Despite the shortcomings, it's a lovely facility..

Addington Place is a very clean community, lovely apartments, nice dining room, but the food is....okay, helpful staff who seem genuinely caring of their residents. Staff greet ME by name, which impresses me

Communications of changes from management such as change in pharmacy providers or of management team to families is not timely or consistent. They do try to follow up on care requests or dining issues. Staff is very familiar with residents and their needs.

Great in the beginning, but the community changed management companies and although the one site management team had not changed the atmosphere and delivery of magic services had suffered some setbacks. Just doesn’t feel quite the same!

I've only been contacted by the facility one time when my mother fell but I know she's fallen several times while living there. I feel the staff could be more communicative, even if over text, about her current health issues. Otherwise, the facility is great and my mom is settling in well

[name removed] health declined quickly. She was unable to there very long. They were not able to start therapy and wound care as quickly as stated. Care staff seemed frustrated with her level of care but we paid for their highest level. Lovely place for more independent residents. Facilities wheelchair van transport and driver exceptional. Food service excellent. A beautiful facility

Not a bad place, kept up to date , friendly staff, but a bit pricy for what you get.

The administration and staff of the independent and assisted living divisions are great. I would recommend Addington for assisted living.

There are times when some residents get out of control and they could use additional help to assist the residents that are left unintended. Over all I haven’t any issues with them. They’ are sweet caring people. I visit my husband often and I see that the residents have pretty much no contact with their families.

The Addington is almost $[removed] cheaper and they have more outings for clients. We really like all the activities and outings they have for the residents and would recommend them to other families.

We did so much research trying to find a good fit for our parents. Tuscan Gardens. has exceeded our expectations, the staff, food atmosphere are exceptional. Upbeat energetic. The staff truly care for residents.

I would tell them they have lots of activities and parties that families are invited to. I'd tell them the food is good and that my parents are receiving adequate care. I would tell them I think they have trouble with staff turn over and trouble staffing in general. Even though there are problems I would still recommend Foxridge Chenal over an other places we visited and based on things I've heard from others about assisted living communities in the area.

The facility is well maintained. The food is good and the staff are friendly, according to my mom. Housekeeping is consistent and the move in process was very smooth. Management is always willing to work with us. We are happy with the facility.

My mom was only there for about 3-4 months. She wasn't happy being there and wanted to be with family so my brother bought a house so she could live with him. Her daily needs were met such as meds and food but nobody encouraged or assisted her to shower and there were a few occasions where she ran out of clean clothes because her laundry wasn't being done per their laundry schedule and I had to call and ask if they could do it. The facility was very nice and well kept but she just didn't really fit in or relate to the other residents so we thought it was silly to pay nearly 5K a month for her to be unhappy/uncomfortable. Her time there was uneventful and I don't have anything bad to say except she just didn't care for it too much.

Experience has been, for the most part, good. I still have some things that I need to figure out or speak to someone about, and honestly, I would love it if there were a community much closer. I would definitely recommend it.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at the Phoenix at H'burg for over a year & has really enjoyed it & highly recommends. Management is great – always helps to resolve problems. Staff are extremely helpful & very good at what they do. Beautiful clean facility – that is well-kept inside & out. Everything in the facility is easy for her to navigate with her rollator. The maintenance guy is excellent & always quick to hang items on the wall when asked. The chef is always open to meal suggestions & feedback. The Phoenix location is perfect – very close to the hospital. Mother-in-law really enjoys the craft activities & bus trips which have all increased since the Phoenix at H'burg has grown. She also enjoys it when outside groups come for activities – such as musicians & local schools. My husband & I have attended various activities during her stay and have really enjoyed them. She loves the snacks & drinks put out in the bistro area for the residents. Phoenix is best fit for our needs.

It has been one year since my Mother moved into The Phoenix at Harrisonburg. It was a tough transition moving from her home in another state to an assisted living environment. With the help and care of the staff, my Mother has a beautiful and comfortable apartment. She has made many friends, started a library and runs a book club. She enjoys all of the musicians that perform periodically and enjoys the camaraderie with her friends during meals. The facilities are pristine and are easily accessed by the residents. All staff, from the director to the event coordinator, to all medical staff and assistants have been available for my Mother's needs. In addition, when her children have questions or concerns, we are contacted promptly to hear answers or develop solutions together. The financial coordinator and marketing director have been helpful as well.

The staff has larger turnover in some areas, like care staff. Housekeeping done weekly is thorough. Laundry is also done weekly along with bed sheet changing. Showers with assistance twice a week ..evenings if requested. I'm sent a copy of the resident calendar sometimes. Move in was a breeze. Meals are the biggest issue with residents but it is a main gathering and social time every day. Sometimes my dad says the portions are small, but you can ask for seconds. I have to remind him it's not a restaurant and they don't want to overfeed or waste food. They have happy hour every Wednesday at 4:30..often with entertainment. The last Thursday, dinner is friends and family with a theme and entertainment. They have trips out to restaurants a few times a month. Also take residents to Publix weekly and to Walgreens, banking and Walmart. Walmart is monthly. Things you can sign up for: podiatrist comes monthly, Doctor comes also. Physical therapist is available weekdays. Bingo, rummikub, farkle and other games. There is minimal impact exercise, but is done most days. I would recommend the facility. It has a pool and other amenities because it was originally an independent living facility. My suggestion would be an upgrade to the call button system residents have. There should be a way care staff can ask what's needed so they can prioritize. Falls wait as long as someone who needs help with shoes, etc.

I would like to see a higher ratio of staff to patients. However; in todays job market everyone is understaffed so I take that into consideration. Obviously the patients in memory care often are not willing or able to participate in activities due to their mental state but more encouragement to do so would be nice.

Overall it is a nice place. After mom was there a while, we could tell some of what we were told at the interview was not true. We had to move my mom quickly and didn't have a lot of time to look at other facilities. They seemed genuine there so we just went with them. It is a beautiful facility.
