Unpleasant, not a good experience, irresponsible staff

Sonata is a nice community both inside and outside. Our loved one's stay was at the beginning of the pandemic. The room wasn't cleaned to our satisfaction such as dirt under the sink, marks on the light switch plate, and more. They had a housekeeper and the housekeeper didn't clean the room. The concierge was great and knew everything. [name removed] was good. [name removed] was not good and lied. The staff wouldn't treat the resident the same if the resident would complain about the staff. We had to hire private care due to my loved one being a fall risk, and Sonata wouldn't help with our loved one since they were a fall risk. The private aide was caught sleeping in my loved one's bed or chair and the community caught this aide. The community didn't report any of the issues that they had with the private aide. The aide allowed my loved one to fall, didn't make the bed, or clean. The private aide had COVID, never had temperature taken at Sonata, and then passed COVID on to others. The same company sent over a new private aide, [name removed], and she was an angel.

Don't trust your loved ones with Sernades

I would advise to stay away from this community. If your loved one is at early stages of needing memory care and just needs a little bit of reminding this place may work. However anything beyond that they are not willing to help with it and require outside help. We were lied to, we moved our loved one from another area in Fl and i forwarded all information to make sure that there weren't any issues with insurance. They had the information and stated that she would be able to be seen by the doctor because she was in network. Once we got there she was never seen by a doctor and advised that her insurance was not covered. They could not manage her medication because of the doctor situation. When I moved my mother she was supposed to go by medical transport in a wheelchair and I was supposed to be called when she was picked up and I wasn't notified until after 1 hour later. It just wasn't run well and bad communication. The director of nursing left and no one was notified of it.

A Good Place to Be

Every time I visit my loved one is in their room. I would encourage you to look at the community, as it is close proximity to areas with other loved ones. Since we have been there they have only had 5 residents at a time. There currently isn't a lot of activities going on. The communication with the staff is fair. There seems to be someone new each time I visit, and I don't feel comfortable with all of them yet. The staff at the door are welcoming. My loved one seems to be doing well here.

my review poet's walk

The community talks a good story but it takes a long time for things to get corrected, if it is fixed it goes back to the way it was after a short time. They do a lot of things well but I have problems with medication, but they have had a good plan for Covid. I have had issues with some of her basic care and have had to complain. there is a high turnover with the staff so when things are corrected and someone leaves we have to start over again. They did start garden visits so we could see our loved one and that was nice. I would not recommend this community

Beware of memory care

We have had two family members join this community, one was on the assisted living and the other was in the memory care. The assisted living is great, the memory care is not. The staff is very nice, cooperative and will try to work with you the best they can. I would shy away from memory care if your loved one has advanced dementia. If your loved one doesn't fit the mold of mild dementia they do not work with you. The assisted living is fine, they were very loving and passionate towards our loved one. We felt that they were getting a high level of care in assisted living. they have been very diligent following COVID restrictions. Non of the residents have had COVID, they have done a very good job with cleaning and keeping the residents safe.

A very Nice Place Phyiscally, Lacking a Little in Emotional Support

They were personal things that I was not favorable about. I had a problem with them not accommodating the request to place my loved on the first floor. This is because he wouldn't know how to access the first floor, due to his memory loss. My loved one was getting upset because he kept setting alarms off, and felt it was disturbing others. The loved one was always trying to be personable. He was always offering to help in the dining room, as he doesn't want to have others waiting on him. I also asked for my loved one to be taken down for meals, as he wasn't one to remember to eat. My loved one would remember to eat in the morning. I decided to go check on my loved one, and no one came to the door to meet him. I found out that my loved one wasn't in the room. The staff didn't know where my loved one was. They found him a few rooms down. The staff would come to let them know about 10 minutes until dinner, and they weren't taking my loved one down for dinner. They were letting him make the decision whether to go down to eat. I ended up taking him out of the community. The community took the money for the rest of the month, and then the community came to my house to collect the following month. This was because I didn't give them a 30 day notice.

The facility is new and clean. The apartment I was shown was nice and designed well. The common areas are attractive. The place was very quiet. I didn't see much going on. Patients sat on the front porch. There were few staff members floating around. I didn't feel a happy vibe. The prices for rooms are high. Care is extra. I feel neutral about this place,

Transition is a long process.

I was searching for a senior assisted living facility for my elderly parents that have been living with me for the past 13 years. The Hamptons at Meadows Place was very accommodating when it spoke of meeting my families needs, my mom has a dog that is her life line and they were willing to give it a try. They worked at meeting our financial needs and said all the right things to make us choose them as my parents next home. These first 3 weeks have been challenging as we all work towards finding a workable routine for my parents. The promises made toward their care has been slow in coming as the adjustment to my mom’s dog has been challenging. There is no procedure for new residents to welcome them and make them feel wanted. Three weeks in and I’m still unsure who is to take care of and aide my parents on a daily bases, a “team” atmosphere is missing. It would go along way if new residents were assigned one person they could go to for answers and someone to show them and their family how things work. The administrative staff has been good at listening to my frustration but slow in my opinion to following through on solving the problems. When it comes to providing for your elderly parents time is of the essence. My other lower rating is on the catagory of activities. There seems to be a lack of communication as to the how, when and where. The activities are not varied so if you don’t play games, cards, or watch movies there is little for you to do. I have and continue to remain involved daily with the transition and do believe that though the level of care is not what I expected, we will get there. At no time have I felt that they are in danger.

The way to the heart, is food.

I’m writing this for my sister who is a resident. It’s a beautiful facility, friendly and compassionate staff. However, the food is substandard and should be improved tremendously. There is absolutely no reason to serve food that is boring, not tasty and cold. You can make delicious food, economically. The need to take this issue to task immediately. Cleaning residents rooms is another issue, but the food is the #1 .

probably good for advanaced dementia. Not a good match for my husband as he is only very mild dementia. ONLY rooms are private. I fear my husband would isolate even more than he does now. Staff nice, but again feel he is not bad enough on his walk to dementia to like it there.

Nursing needs better direction and management from the top down.

The rooms are very efficient but do not believe the square footage they tell you. Subtract about 20%. The activities are the best; good, hard working people make it so. There are lots of amenities. Now, if you or your loved one needs nursing care, the Sheridan may not be for you. Most CNA's are rude, slow and lazy. LPN's are limited to preparing medication, holding staff change meetings, and doing reports. They will not even put a bandage on without a doctor's permission. Protect everything that you value. We lost valuable jewlry taken while in the process of moving. A few of their CNA's are street smart and have sticky fingers. Sloppy nursing direction starts at the top. Visions of poor sick [name removed] in her nightgown walking baby steps toward the nurse's office because no one would answer her alert buzzer will be with me forever. After I notified the nurse and CNA of [name removed] condition, the CNA took 10 minutes to respond; the nurse never went to the sick lady. The Director fires no bad employee but causes residents who complain to leave.

My Experience at the Sheridan at Windermere

Rooms are efficient, but do not believe the square footage they tell you; subtract 20%. They have great activities and lots of amenities. Disappointed family member

This was a wonderful place for my mom, but with recent change in administration and nursibg I'm not too sure anymore. Everyone is frustrated, angry and upset about losing the biggest asset to this community. I personally brought mom here because of the wellness director and now I don't feel my mom is safe. Staff seem so uptight and no one knows anything anymore. Definitely looking at other places for next month. Very unfortunate situation, but when the people at the top cant see who/what the problem is then the difference clear.

Not The One For My Mom, But Tour Was Nice

I had a pleasant tour of this community. I toured it for my mother, and her needs. Everyone was kind, and helpful to my family, and I. The community looked nice, and clean from what I saw. The staff we met answered, and the experience went well. It was not the one for my mother, but we had a good tour of this facility.

The community is lovey

The staff did a great job with our tour and were able to answer all our questions. We enjoyed sitting down to lunch with the other residents too. We just did not feel that this would be the best fit for what we were looking for for my mother.

The Community was nice

Our tour was nicely done, the community is nice and clean and the staff were all welcoming and answered all our questions. We did have lunch and visited with some of the residents who liked living here. We just did feel that this was going to be the right fit for my mom.
