I recently moved my elderly relatives here (and they really did not want to leave their home of 53 years). After seeing Brookdale Irving, they were amazed that they could afford to live in such a nice place with so many amenities. Now, four weeks later, they look better (good food makes a big difference!) and seem so much happier than they did when they were trying to hold things together in their old house. I have been very impressed with the staff -- caring, attentive, warm and welcoming. Brookdale Irving has truly transformed a difficult decision into a happy and excellent experience!

After seeing Brookdale and meeting with the staff, they were amazed that they could afford to live in such a nice place with so many amenities. Now, four weeks later, they look better (good food makes a big difference) and seem so much happier than they did when they were trying to hold things together in their old house. I have been very impressed with the staff -- caring, attentive, warm and welcoming. Brookdale Irving has truly transformed what started as a difficult decision into a happy and excellent experience!

[name removed] and [name removed] RN. were so warm and understanding in my frustration of trying to find the most suitable place for my parents who want to stay together as a couple but have different levels of need. Mackenzie Place is a small intimate senior care community more suited to my parents liking than the larger communities here in the Lubbock area.

We have been so very pleased with Lucas Place. Every staff member is caring and compassionate as well as so patient. The facility is always clean and bright and homey. Activities are superb. Thank you for being here for my mom!

Wonderful place. Small community. The staff seem very kind and caring. The few residents we saw and said hello to seemed very content and happy here. Apartments are spacious and clean. Great courtyard for events and bird watching. They have some really great activities here, such as going to movies, local playhouse and even Astros games sometimes. I think my mom would like it here. Close to The Woodlands too.

Hi my name is [Removed]. I was looking for a place for both of my parents. After setting up an appointment with [Removed] to tour the facility and check out all the enmities the place had to offer. I knew immediately this was the right place for mom and dad. [Removed] is very friendly and professional. But most of all he showed a true likening to the residents and there needs. Also he is very engaging with all the residents. And that goes for all the staff here. As for the buildings and units, they are not brand new. But well kept and maintained. They offer a lot of activities for the folks to choose from, meals are very good. Not only do I think it’s a good fit for mom and dad but it also meets there budget. I would highly recommend this place. I live in fl. But I feel real assured this place will take care of my parents and look out for they’re best interests. I haven’t met all the staff here but [Removed] (front office), [Removed] ( medical staff), [Removed] ( head chef ) just too name a few, all great employees and people. I am very impressed with this facility. From the first time that we toured the place is the reason why we moved forward with them to have my love one there. The staff team is wonderful, helpful, communicative, and I was not expecting it to be the way that it is. I recommend their services.

This facility has been very accommodating in helping us find my Mother the right apartment and the things she needs. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. For activities they offer things like creative classes, bingo, card games, and twice a week shopping trips. The facility is very inviting and they even have an in-house salon. My mom really likes the food and from what I’ve seen, the meals are good for what the elderly need. I would recommend this facility to other families.

My dad was happy here and everything has been good here except the food. The staff here is caring and accommodating. [Removed] have bent over backward to help me with my dad. He is having to move because he needs more care and it is limited here. The food was bland and not enough portions of it my dad is 6ft tall and 200 lbs he likes to eat. And not just one corndog. But overall this place is great and I would recommend it to families.

My family has been very pleased with this facility and the care they’ve provided for my Mom. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and available when you need them. They offer a lot for a very reasonable price and it is overall a really good value. The facility offers a lot of different activities for the residents and there seems to be several things going on at once. There’s always something for someone to do. They have entertainment programs, school children will come by to sing for the residents, there are exercise classes, and they’ll even take them to concerts (like the orchestra). They have special events for the holidays as well as arts and crafts. There’s really quite a variety. My Mom always says good things about the food and, from what I’ve tried, it tastes okay. There are a lot of options to choose from so it isn’t the same thing every day. This has been a very nice facility and we’re pleased.

This place is doing very well with caring for my Mother-in-law. She seems to like it and is quite happy. The food can be a hit or miss; sometimes things are really good and sometimes it can be left out a little too long. It’s never been horrible, but it’s a cafeteria type environment. They do have a variety of things that you can choose from, though. The facility will take trips to various shopping locations and they’ll have groups come in during the holidays (like choirs and girl scouts) to entertain and visit. There’s a decent variety to keep everyone entertained. Overall, it’s a decent facility and she seems to be happy.

Wonderful community, great staff – they go out of their way to accommodate the residents and make them feel at home. Many little personal touches. Also very accommodating to relatives. Always willing to bend an ear and take the time to talk and answer questions.

We went on the tour here and the people were really nice and seemed caring. It was nice and clean. They had lots of daily activities. It was just not modern or up to date. They answered all of my questions. We are just looking around right now.

This area is a very nice place. The staff and nurses are very courteous to us. Anything that we ask for they are there to help us. My parents are in the assisted living section and they seem to be making friends fine. Everyone there is very welcoming and friendly. The food is good as well. My mother was having problems at first because she has a condition that causes her to react negatively to spicy food. After the wait staff noticed the cook team came out and talked to her. After she explained that she thought the food was too spicy for her the cook team was very well accommodating and made sure that it wouldn’t happen again. It was very nice of them. Their menus in their dining area changes daily and you pre order before you sit down and wait for your meal. All in all I would recommend this community to other families and the facility.

The staff here is very personable and they care about their tenants. My mother is always checked on frequently in her unit. The size of her unit is wonderful, it has a good size living area, with the kitchen in the middle, a walk in closet, and other good features. There is also lot of activities offered: games, bingo, Yahtzee, there are exercise activities like a walking club, and there always five to ten things offered happening every day. There is also a hair salon on site.

A truly wonderful place. Everyone goes that special distance to make things comfortable.

My mom has lived in this community for almost a year. We couldn’t have picked a better place. Management and staff are great and we know she is safe and well taken care of. It gives us great place of mind.

We chose Lucas Place based on recommendations from friends and acquaintances, and so far, it has been a really positive experience for my parents in law. The staff has been so helpful in getting both of my parents settled in to the community. They are very caring, they’re great at keeping us updated on things, and they really are just a godsend to us. Every time I’ve been there during a mealtime, the food always looks good and fresh. They follow a universal diet there, so they serve foods that are suitable for anyone on any type of diet. They also have a full schedule of activities there as well with at least one or two things happening each day. I also appreciate how clean the community is. I’ve never seen a thing out of place when I’ve been there. I would absolutely recommend Lucas Place to others. They are fantastic.
