Bait and switch

Independent living review. Nice at first. They will jump through hoops to get you locked into a lease, then HIKE the rent well beyond the means of most middle-class retirees. Expect a 20% increase annually. They will evict you without thinking twice. Lack of compassion or interest in the well-being of their residents. They see $$$$$, that's it.

Don't recommend

Would not recommend this place. The day I moved my mom in they went to lockdown. Six weeks later when I was moving her to memory care was the first time I had been in her room. Couldn't believe the condition of the bathroom (I have pictures), toilet had pieces of poop all in it, sink was stained and floor had dirt lined up against the baseboard. This didn't happen in 1 week. The workers were friendly enough but I would not recommend them to anyone.

Great place for independent residents, not for someone who needs extra care

The Gables is advertised as an independent resisdence, and they have an aide service, not associated with them right at the facility, for an additional cost. My mother lived there for a few years and was happy. She used the on site aide service, and received pretty good care. My mother died this past year, and looking back, I wish I would have moved her when her health started to decline. I don't think the aide service is prepared for a higher level of care. Also, after continuous calling, texting and emailing, I still have an ongoing financial issue with the owner of the aide service after almost a year. The Gables is a great place for independent and low level dependent residents. The aides are caring and have a low turn over. The main problem is with the owner of the aide service. I just don't want another family member to go thru what I have.

Nice small facility

I would tell others we chose this facility because my parents needed memory care and my dad did not, but they were able to house them in the same building. They kept us up to date by email and conference calls about what was going on inside the facility. My dad was not very happy with the food and they did have a lot of turnover of staff but I would recommend them to others looking.

Looking to Move Elsewhere

Don't assume anything is being taken care, just stay on top of it. The general staff is good, but management is not great. They've failed to notify us in advance of doctor appointments, so we've missed them. When we confronted them, they simply said they were sorry and they're trying to do better. We just received notice that fees are going up. I have not been very happy with them.

Your loved one must be totally independent if you want to live here. The apts. are not set up to accommodate any in wheelchairs or people that may need assistance. If your loved one is totally independent I would recommend this community. If your not independent you will need to pay for outside care giving

Large Amount of Money Paid, No Care for the Elderly

I would tell people to not to put their loved one there. During the time my loved one was there, they broke two bones. The staff found my loved one, placed them back in bed, and didn't take them to the hospital. The night that it happened we weren't notified. We were finally called when the ambulance arrived. During the stay there was 11 ambulance calls due to injuries for my loved one. It seemed the community wasn't watching my loved one.

Run away fast

I moved my mom in 3 years ago at first we were happy. When the present ED took over things started to go down hill. I worry about my mom because security at Greenfeild is not very high on the priority list. You can walk in off the street at 10 pm am and no one will be around I have personally spoken to the ED and he really does not care I would not trust my cat to the nursing staff. Greenfeild pays so little the cant find help Activities are non existent their idea of activities is making a necklace out of washers The food is basically frozen and the cook just reheats it Maintenance is full of stupid people who can barely hang a picture straight. I recommend letting your loved one live in your garage in a box over moving to Greenfeild. I have called corporate many times and they never return my calls. I am moving my mom out

I currently have my uncle there due to his health problems. He's done better here than anywhere else due to being around others with the same mental capacity and level of health problems, but he had gotten scabies and the dr told my father he would only be contagious for 24 hours, but then the dr told them something totally different and quarantined him for a week. Saturday he was rushed to the er due to blood in his urine. He was told he needed a follow up appointment within 4 days from the [date removed], I ended up having to schedule an appointment for the [date removed] because they didn't do their job. They had him an appointment for the [date removed] of September.....how stupid do you have to be? This could have been a life or death situation, If he was still bleeding internally. No one can get their crap straight. No one knows anything and no one communicates. Now I had to get him squeezed into this appointment and have been wait over 2 hours. I don't recommend this place at all.

I received a phone call from Legacy at Maiden Park and shared with them the care that I am looking for for my dad. They were concerned that my dad has a catheter and that they couldn't assist him with it, if he needed it. I spoke to the nurse at that facility, she confirmed that they could not take him because of this.

I would not recommend

The first few weeks were good. My mother-in-law liked it there. One thing I noticed were the residents who could not navigate themselves in a wheelchair were pushed to the hallway between the main entrance and dining room or in the dining room and were just left there. Some slumped over. I was glad my mom was somewhat mobile. She had been at Amerisist for one month and when my husband went to her room around 11:00 on Saturday, he found her soaked in urine through her depends, clothes and bed clothes. He also noticed her speech was slurred. He had them call an ambulance. She had a massive stroke and no one at Amerisist noticed. She died one week later. I don't feel they have enough staff nor we'll trained staff to handle properly non ambulatory or verbally impaired residents. Two weeks ago I wrote to the CEO and stated our disappointment & ask for a refund. As of today, I have received no response.
