They do a good job here! I like that they have a lot of activities, and seem to focus on keeping their residents active and entertained. The facility is clean and well kept, and the staff all seem friendly and caring. It's a very nice place, overall!

I really liked Greenfield. I never saw the former High School, but the transformation is amazing. My loved one would like all of the gardens/outdoor spaces. I like the fact that it's in a town, and not too far away. Lisa Benash was great. It's a little pricey - almost $1000 more a month than another place I looked at, and that can add up. They do not provide furniture, so I would have to buy a twin bed. This is one of my top two though.

Smaller facility that may offer more personalized service to its residents. Very nice rooms and amenities.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought that this was a very nice looking place, overall! The staff all seemed very friendly, and the facility was clean and well kept. I wasn't as impressed with the food here, compared to other communities I had seen in the area.

I think they've done a good job so far at Greenfield of Perkiomen Valley! It's a very well kept, nice looking facility, and the staff have been very friendly! They do a good job taking care of their residents, although most of the time they are noticeably short staffed, which can cause delays in certain services and in the activities. One area I'd like to see them improve would be in the communication regarding care between the staff and the residents and families. More than once they've come in to do tests on my loved one without letting her know what or why they are doing it, or letting me know beforehand. I'd appreciate being kept more in the loop.

Facility was nice. Tour went well. Received packet of information. Would have liked to see an activity to determine interaction between staff and patients. May need more staff. Individual room looked fine. Following up with family to figure out a decision. Mom still at home receiving in-home care.

I liked the experience very well. The staff was very professional. The facility was very neat and clean. There is a theory of being able to really deal with the resident's and their needs. They had an abundance of programs to offer as well.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this was a very nice looking place, however I don't think it would have been a great fit for my loved one. It was just too big for my loved one, who moves around very slowly.

They are making a lot of positve changes in their goal for constant improvement, such as overall renovation of facility, staff direction, and processes. We primarily chose this community based on location, the abundance of activities, and the layout of the apartment rooms. The foods seems to always look good. I have had the opportunity to sample a few items and was pleased. Make sure you always stay engaged with the staff and the management, so they know you are involved in the care.

They are doing alright. They are clean, and friendly and all that. It's still a little too soon to give a lot of feedback. All of the essentials are there though.

My dad just moved in to the independent living section of Atria South Setauket. Megan and Jennifer and all the staff we interacted with while making our selection were very friendly and understanding about the needs of seniors who want to maintain their independence. The staff is long term which says alot about the community as a whole. The food is very good and plentiful. The only thing my dad had to say of a 'negative' nature was that he wished there weren't so many old people. He is young at heart and very inquisitive, curious and busy. thanks for all your help Atria South Setauket

My loved one stayed here for a couple weeks, and there were things we were happy with, and things we weren't. On one hand, my loved one looked like she hadn't had proper hygiene care, but on the other hand, she didn't have any bed sores or anything. They called me while I was gone, and touched base with me. They offered activities and had a lot of things going on. There were a couple issues. For one, they charge you for the day they arrive AND the day they leave. So, even if they are only there for a couple hours the last day, you still have to pay the whole day's fees. Also, some belongings were lost during her stay... which didn't feel too good. However, we liked how homey it felt. My loved one seemed to be very comfortable there. There were some things that irritated her, but she seemed to be well cared for and we were pleased. I would consider having her stay there again if I needed it.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for my loved one. This was a nice looking facility, and the staff and residents all seemed friendly. We toured a few in the area during our search, and although we found one we liked more this would have been our 2nd choice.

I would definitely give them high regards. There was one incident we had where they were slow to respond, but other than that, it's been good. The price is so high, but they all are. For the help she gets 24/7, three meals a day, and all the activities, it's a good value. It hasn't been perfect, but I would recommend them. Also, the location is great! It's near a large shopping cetner, with stores and restaurants, so that's great!

Average age 84. High percentage of males (34%). Some rooms with shower, some without. A LA carte services. Not equipped for patients who wander, cannot feed themselves or become combative. Average rate increase is 2.5% Pros: catholic church across the street, man cave with record player pool table and darts

Some of the menus aren't very pleasing to my friend. The food is not low sodium it's more low carbohydrate. There is a good variety of things to do. They are able to suggest ideas of what residents want to do. The personnel are all very, very good. The staff are all very helpful and accommodating. They call everyday and check on them to make sure they're ok.

My dad has been living at Atria since the summer. I can't say enough good things about the aides there. They are pleasant, friendly, helpful. The majority of the people that work there are great.....including the dining room staff, medical technicians, maintenance, cleaning staff and the receptionists at the front desk. Any complaints I have are with the administration and the nurse. I'm really not happy with the nurse there. I know others feel the same way. She's not very friendly and acts annoyed and unhelpful when approached much of the time. I don't like the situation but since she has very little actual contact with the residents, and the aides are so wonderful (and they are the ones who have the most contact with the residents) I am willing to overlook it. One of the drawbacks to the place, and maybe that's typical of all assisted living facilities, is that there really is no nursing care available for the residents, and no doctor that comes periodically. If you think your loved one is going to be in a place where their medical needs are taken care of, you would be wrong. But like I said, I think that's pretty typical for most assisted living facilities. They have good concerts for the residents on a weekly basis. There is also a range of activities though it seems that only women go to them. It would be great if they could figure out some activities to get the men more involved. One thing you should know (they don't tell you upfront) is that every year the fee automatically goes up several hundred dollars. It's not perfect, but there are a lot of good things about Atria......and since, in my opinion, good care is the most important thing, I do recommend Atria Penfield.

However, the memory care here seemed more like an addition, and we really wanted somewhere where the memory and dementia care unit were the main focus.

The residents look very well adjusted and happy. I would have no problem recommending them.
