We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I thought this place looked very nice! The community itself was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed very friendly. This place is very nice overall, and definitely worth a look if you are looking into care options for a loved one in the area!

This is a small more home-like facility than what is offered in the area. I knew my mom would like that because it does kind of remind me of her home. The staff were friendly and helped me answer all my questions to give me the peace of mind I needed. My mom did not want to move to assisted living and I started having feelings of guilt when I pushed the issue. I am now happy that she is at this facility. My mom looks better and says that she loves it. I feel that they are very attentive to my mom's needs. It is worth visiting for a different approach to assisted living.

My mom loves this place after going from assisted living to assisted living this is the first place my mother truly enjoys they really make you feel like family everything is great I would recommend Amerisist to anyone one who loves there loved one this is the place to be

Overall we're pleased with the service they provide at Atria Penfield. Mom is having a hard time adjusting, but the staff are all very friendly and caring, and doing the best they can to help her get settled in. I do wish the residents here had a bit more private space, the rooms are generally just a private bedroom and bathroom.

I have read all of the reviews prior to my touring this community and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the facility took down the wallpaper that was mentioned and replaced it with a nice bright cheery paintjob. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff and stayed for a lunch tour. The cook served my lunch to me and it was delicious! I could tell that it was homemade. The rooms were large with plenty of sunlight and I felt that my mom would be able to fit everything that she would want to bring. They had an activity of some sort going on and the residents looked happy and engaged. I would definitely bring my mom here and would recommend it to others.

After checking out and visiting quite a few assisted living communities and finding out that the waiting list is long and when some of the money runs out your out. After finding out that these communities monthly rent is a per person. I was frustrated. My parents income was limited. Savings was limited. At atria they worked with me and them to make it happen. And they my parents won't have to move again. Atria personnel was and is very nice,polite, and very helpful. Most of them will go out of their way to make your day better. I would recommend this community for sure.

She loves it there! I think they are doing well. They treat her well the aids are good. She's eating well. It's like a restaurant you sit down and order off the menu, and if you don't like it you can send it back. If she falls or something there is no medical staff, they don't have a doctor onsite. When I speak with other residents they say they are treated very well there.

My mother has been at Sterling House-Deptford for over four months. She has been treated very well and seems to be adjusting to her new surroundings. The staff is very friendly and there ahs been enough activities to keep her involved with the community.

In their lock down facility the people were happy, the rooms were quite small and the facility seemed quite crowded actually, but both the staff and the patients there seemed happy and friendly. In the other lockdown facilities we looked at, the people sat in chairs and looked at the floor, here, this was not the case. There were all sorts of people chattering back and forth and they also thought he would be fine in their assisted living. It was just a matter of not wanting to move him from where he already was because we thought it would be too traumatic.

Staff is wonderful, there are some very warm and loving employees in the memory care unit. Although the facility is older than others it is very clean. Management is involved and concerned about the people who reside there. I felt when we selected this facility it was the best overall in the Knoxville area, and I still feel that way.

Sterling House was recommened by A Place for Mom, and it has been a blessing for her. They strive to assist the special needs of my Mom and others residents as well. It is much cleaner than the previous place where my Mom lived, which had dirt and dust in her room all the time. This place is neat and the workers try hard. I can rest my mind knowing that my Mom is safe, because the workers at Sterling House will make sure of that. Because it is small, they are able to keep a close eye on their residents. Whereas other places residents seem to get lost in the shuffle. I am happy I chose this place.

The overall experience for my Mom at Sterling House has been wonderful. The administrative staff is efficient and helpful and always available to answer questions. All the staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy their jobs. The building and grounds are clean and inviting. Mom says the food is very good. Everyone associated with Sterling House seems to have a genuine care and concern for the residents. Many activities are available and my Mom especially loves times with music and dancing. Mom likes that she is invited to join in all activities but is never pressured to participate. I would recommend Sterling House.

The welcoming staff at all levels. Yes I would recommend.. On our first visit the facility seemed a little dated but it was very clean and the staff seemed friendly and very helpful. We liked that the community was on the smaller side and the location in Greece was central to family. We were not mistaken! The staff is hardworking and friendly, the facility is very clean and our sister has found friends in the small, close knit community. One thing I would caution people about is once my sister arrived at the facility we realized she really had to have an electric wheelchair in order to get around, she was at the furthest spot from the community rooms. Unfortunately, we found out that it would take 5-7 weeks for her insurance to approve it. After 2 weeks of her struggling to get around we ended up purchasing it outright and it gave her the freedom and mobility she needed. That is the only reason I rated a 4 instead of a 5 as I feel that the staff should have realized that her mobility would be a problem and given us a heads up. She is very happy now and feels like a member of the community! And yes you can use my answers, anonymously please. I have recommended A Place for Mom to friends and I am sincerely grateful for all the advice and encouragement my family received from your organization!

The administration staff was welcoming and made it very easy for the move in process. Our Mom is quite happy after being there for 2 months which is surprised us.

Mom likes the people there, cleanliness is wonderful. But she has had pretty continuous problems with her room's thermostat. She also doesn't like the food, literally almost ever. The rates aren't bad though. She doesn't take advantage of all their available trips and services, but there are many.

The outstanding staff! That it is a clean facility and professionally run. Mom would like a little more entertainment.

How quickly we were able to get a room is what stood out. Very good services for the price. I would recommend to others.

One great positive is that they have someone very tech savvy to help when Dad has trouble with his emails and computer in general and his internet and cable. My negative is that they wash the residents clothes together after labeling everything. We opted that I will do dad's laundry. They do take care of bath and bed linens.
