We all know that no one wants to leave their home to live in assisted living but make absolutely sure in your gut that you have done your homework perfectly. Make sure you have someone who you trust, go with you. Take pictures. Check out the facility on every website you can find ~~ read reviews.

They have done alright but are lacking in a few areas. The facility is kept pretty clean but cleanliness of the residents needs work. The staff is very friendly to visitor and many of them are good with the residents, but there are times when the staff has not been very kind or understanding to residents and I feel could use additional training in handling residents with memory care issues. The food seems on par with what I have seen elsewhere. It is nothing special though. At least for memory care residents activities are very minimal. Offer residents are kept in the dining area with nothing to do. It may be slightly cheaper than some of the other memory care units. Basic needs are met, but there is a lot that could be improved upon.

It is big and beautiful to look at.But this expereince we had is the good & bad.I hope this help the next person looking or improves Northwood in these areas.The staff is cna s and Lpn are for the most part nice. But, thye care is great for anyone thats self care. They do not help dress or clean patients. The meals are fairly good, It is clean in the lobby and halls. But they dont clean your room very of often.You provide all your needs toilet paper, towels depends. Some time is seems like a extreme nice pricey motel. It 8,000 over more. Kinda pricey for lack of helping pts and answering the lights.The activities are good, music, excerise,trivago and Bingo and movies,The activity are good.There is a barber shop.All summed up my biggest problem is the 1 on 1 care from aides to help with personal care in the home. That is WHY they are they are there

Sometimes I think they were understaffed. But that seems to be a problem everywhere these days. However, I believe that they did well considering the number of people they had to care for. Based off of our experience there, I would recommend North Woods Village at Edison Lakes.

On the most important/basic levels, Deer Creek took solid care of my Mom while she was there. The facility was clean and her health and welfare were consistently monitored. Where they fell short was in some of the attitude of staff and administration. The ones that really cared certainly stood out, but there were others, from nurses to front desk employees to administration (particularly one member of the Financial Department), who were very subpar.

My husband was here only 7 weeks before he passed away, in July of 2019, at that time I thought it was a great place. Since then several people have felt and what I have observed during my few visits, the quality of care has gone down.

My mom was admitted [date removed] and had a meltdown and asked to leave. They put her in memory care with no items for 10 days. TEN DAYS in a locked dementia unit. I am very upset. She is fine. I am a psych and worked in psych hospitals mom isn’t a flight risk after one day so why 10 days? I am so unhappy with the lack of respect for her daughter and my mom and my sister. staff is nice but over reaction with zero empathy from a DON who came in to set a limit with zero listening.

We ended up feeling very letdown with our experience at Northwoods. We moved my mom about six weeks ago to a different facility because we couldn't get resolution with any of our concerns. The management is terrible about communicating with families, they would run out of medication for my mother on a regular basis or I would find her meds on the floor in her room. They did not give her consistent showers or change her bedding or clean her room as promised. They increased her rent, saying that she had an increased level of care and required toileting, but I saw more evidence that she was not being toileted regularly by the staff . I visited almost daily, so these are things that I witnessed myself. Many of the caregivers were very kind and loving to my mother, but they were severely understaffed, unappreciated, and did not have the support they needed to do their jobs adequately. They also did not have consistency in their management and many staff quit or were fired so they were big lapses in services and communication. The administrator [name removed] promised that things were going to improve but I saw no evidence of that over the two years My mother lived there.

I have been trying to reach the director or whoever is in charge of housekeeping for the last three days, but when I call they are never there, do they not work after 12 p.m.????? My mother calls me and tells me her room and garbage have not been done in over a week, she said no one is there. she has staff coming in her room, and with this horrific virus killing people, my mom can't even get her room clean or garbage taken out? the staff tells her half of the housekeepers quit because of their boss. what is going on and how do I know your building is clean if her room isn't. If I could move her right now I would. I WILL keep calling! and will expect to talk to the person that is in charge of housekeeping.

My Mom has been in this facility for a year now and absolutely nothing positive has come out of this place. More bruises than I can possibly log, a dislocated shoulder, UTI's every month, clothing missing and/or bleached, resident marinating in soiled diapers, hair not brushed/combed and the list goes on. Incredibly short-staffed. Residents are allowed to walk in & out of other rooms without supervision. They can't seem to keep employees. It has become a revolving door. Management is incompetent, rude and incredibly unprofessional. Almost ALL the positive reviews on their website comes from their own employees.....imagine that. Hmmmm.

The Residences at Coffee Creek is a beautiful facility and the staff try hard, but they are very understaffed and it shows in the care received. They need more staffing in all aspects, especially in Memory Care. If your loved one needs close monitoring or assistance this isn't it. Some of the CNA's were lovely [names removed], but so overworked. They never answer the resident call buttons. This place promises you the moon, but most of the services never happen. My mother never saw a doctor despite requesting it multiple times.

If this is the last choice make sure you see your loved one every day. This was the worst experience we ever had, I would not recommend this community to others.

We did not have a good experience at Residences of Coffee Creek. The sales staff is excellent but I think they accept people that they are not able to care for, that is what happened to my mother in law. If your loved one is more independent it might be a better fit, but that was not the case for us. When she passed, we went to go get her belongings and everything of hers was missing. I got her chairs and things like that back home and they were full of bowel movements. I have nothing good to say about the facility and I would not recommend them to anyone looking.

Poor communication with family and psychiatric hospital concerning loved one with dementia.

Our experience with North Woods Village has not been a good one. My loved one was only here a short time and fell multiple times. They do not watch their residents closely or take care of them nearly to the degree that they claim. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

while visiting, halls and hand rails look clean, rooms were clean, all the while i noticed a manager or one who just walks around and does nothing but berate these women who are doing the cleaning. over heard her name was [name removed] and all she did was follow this woman and tell her what to do not doing anything herself. My relative really likes this new woman and wants to request her personably.

Family member has been at Deer Creek for several years. Facility has frequent employee turnover. No continuity. Outside the residents rooms in common areas there is order and cleanliness. Residents rooms how ever, are very different. Unclean, disorderly and smelled is what I witnessed. No care to personal belongings. Items thrown on floor of closet. Two miss matched blinds cover window. One doesn’t even work. I wonder, are they ever even opened to let the light of day in. If this facility is failing at this, the easy stuff, then what level of care are the residents receiving. This was top a top notch care facility but no more.
