Westmont Living

The experience is going great. My mother-in-law is living in a clean community and she is eating good food. The employees are attentive and it has been easy for me to speak with them if I need. Overall I am happy with the care that is provided.

Staff are supportive, attentive, and patient with the residents.

Staff is great, so helpful. I love the place! Food could use improvement. Activities are good but would love more outings. Unfortunately price is not going to work for us long term

Staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to care. They have activities and trips to get them out. Plenty of good food. Room size is fine.

The presentation was excellent in answering questions - especially on heath care. The facility was nice and welcoming. Unfortunately they have a very large waiting list. But I would not be comfortable in the cottage as the back porch is fully enclosed. Nice to sit and look out I guess but I would want to be able to enjoy the yard and not be fenced in. So it is a no for me.

I'd rate 4 stars w/a strong '+' only because of staffing issues, hopefully something temporary. Love the environment! [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]& staff (in general) set a beautifully inviting, family oriented atmosphere that [name removed] fits into perfectly! Love her restaurant-style meal choices; waiter included, even if at times she begs the difference; par for the course; back to normal; using her voice w/great improvement! Her unit is beautiful, spacious w/ accommodating amenities, in -room washer & dryer'& weekly cleaning & lots of light! She plays BINGO...daily when offered...loves winning. The weekly 'Bistro' holiday entertainment schedule is commendable, w/holiday celebrations echoing 'Off--the-Chart' preparation. Westmont is a place I would choose for myself that'd. THAT is a heartfelt recommendation!

We chose Westmont of Fresno because of the quality of the food. The friendly staff, and the overall cleanliness of the facility. They make you feel so welcome and at home. We did have some issues with billing in the beginning.

We moved mom into this facility recently. Knowing that the facility recently went through major staff changes we feel that they need more staff. The receptionist also a works in the kitchen. Only one maintenance man (who does great in his assignments) but has the tasks of at least two. The current cook started as a janitor. Food is okay but sandwiches, burgers or hot dogs for dinner? First week in and little to no personal (room) services were provided ie room not cleaned, no showers, no laundry or bed changes. Talked with the director who has addressed the needs and they have changed. Many adjustments are and will still continue to be made but the need for more staff seems to be necessary. Currently spending big $ for so so (as best under current situation - staffing allows). But not many choices in our area so we wait and see. Staff there are great but they definitely need more staff

We are very happy with our overall experience so far. My Dad has been there officially now for 1 week. The caregivers and staff are all very nice and attentive. The facility is clean, bright, and smells good. The food in the restaurant is ok, sorta hit and miss, but overall good. Communication is a little difficult and seems disjointed, but we eventually get our questions answered.

The communication is good. When I'm there staff seems very caring. It's hard to really rate as my stepmother is in memory care so getting feedback from her is difficult. Room/apartment is plenty for her needs. Cleanliness seems pretty good.

Overall impression, clean and quiet. Soothing music for the residents, choices for meals, activities geared toward being active, and quiet in the memory care unit. Only problem we face is there is not enough money in our coffers for long-term care.

I would say 4 stars. For several reasons. Very few places would qualify for a 5 (and would be much more expensive). That said Westmont of SB has a very friendly atmosphere, very welcoming by both residents and staff. For staff, they are very good. I'm talking about regular hired staff not temporary fill in agency staff (they have no clue sometimes). The staff when hired go thru training and shadowing as they learn resident care and daily needs. Quality of care basics are there and good but it would be good to always have ongoing training, which is true for any facility. The activities here are very good, lots to choose from and the lifestyle director always takes suggestions. They have recently added more outings (we went to Dargans pub around St Patricks) The library and Trader Joe's. Dining is resturant-esque style food is ok and they are improving. Rooms are a good size studio and housekeeping does a good job on mine. One last thing I would note is if you need memory care or assistance that happens here well. If you are independent, expect to number checked on and follow the requirements of a RCFE. IE 6 month reviews of care needs, monthly weighing. Checking if you don't show at meals, etc. Westmont of SB is run by a corporation, there are 20 throughout CA and OR, which causes some restrictions on flexibility of what directors here can do. But again friendly staff and residents and nice atmosphere

I am very happy with The Oaks, I feel they take good care of my mother. I absolutely love that weather pro, they take the memory care residents on outings.

My mom is in memory care unit, so it's taken time to get used to the protocols. Everyone is happy to answer questions, address concerns. My mom raves about the food and they have a wonderful activity director. My mom has never been very social but she is much more so at Westmont. The unit is kept clean and organized. And they are committed to helping the residents have a full life.

Granted it is a very beautiful facilities. I was disappointed in the wear and tear in the residence, bathrooms and things that were not working correctly. Seems kind of expensive for a place that doesn’t take care of its plumbing issues but other than that it’s a fantastic facilities maybe it was just that particular room.

This facility checks all the boxes for a continuing care place. There are leased homes available, no cottages. The exterior presents as an attractive and quiet establishment, but the interior appears dated and in need of cheerful paint and new carpet. Cleanliness does not appear to be an issue. Food was unimaginative and not very good. Staff was friendly and efficient. Price was very reasonable. Apartments again seem dated and utilitarian, lacking in charm.. In general, I liked this place with it’s location on a mesa removed from the congestion of the urban area and with beautiful views.

It would be helpful to have an orientation booklet which describes mealtimes, how to arrange for a meal in your room, how to call for assistance, when to use the " emergency" button on the lanyard, medication dispensing, etc. My loved one moved in quickly, and didn't have a very organized first day. The staff are friendly, respond in a timely manner, and are conscientious. The maintenance staff was especially helpful. She really enjoys the activities and this has helped to make this move a positive experience. Also, the common areas are clean, spacious, well-decorated and bright and cheerful with seasonal and holiday decorations. It makes for a very pleasant environment. She has a 2 room apartment, which is perfect for her - I think a single room would have been too tight. She says that the food is okay, and sometimes good. She enjoys her new eating companions in the dining room. The dining room staff are attentive and courteous. Overall, this move from her own home to assisted living, has been difficult. I think that Lakeview has done a very good job in making this transition easier for her. She is meeting people and making friends .My greatest worry is her safety and I feel that she is in good hands. This area of the Oregon coast is quite isolated. I hope that her time at Lakeview with activities and new people to meet will help to convince her that this is the best place for her. I still believe that Lakeview is the best place for her in the Lincoln City/ Newport area.

Working with coordinator [name removed] we had a tour, she is great to listen to us describing Moms needs and our concerns about what makes her happy. Rooms are generous and well designed. They have nurse staff on duty, offer rehab assistance and have a Dr. Who comes twice a week. Close proximity to hospital. They also allow mom's cat.

I recently had the pleasure of touring the facility and I must say, it was an incredibly informative experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with such a warm and friendly atmosphere that instantly made me feel welcome. The tour girl was knowledgeable and passionate about the community, providing insights into the area's of mixed culture, and future developments. It was great to learn about the various amenities available, like the beautiful courtyard , local shops, and community events that bring residents together. What truly stood out to me was the sense of community spirit. People seemed genuinely happy to live there, and it was clear this is a place that values connection and engagement among its residents.

-Staff has been great. Small hiccup on pricing and how the deposits work but people couldn't be nicer -activities are good. Westmont isn't overbearing on how they get a new tenant situated so that's worked very well with my mom, who was still driving when she got there so was transitioning from being fully independent -meals have been fine and my mom is eating much better than she was on her own -room is good. I like the alcove shape of her studio better than some of the square rooms they have.
