This community was very good it was just too expensive for us and cost was just one of the biggest things for us due to being self pay.

The Palo Alto Commons Assisted Living section has proved to be an excellent place for my sister with early dementia to reside. It provides all of the services she needs in a very friendly as well as professional atmosphere.

June 2018 change in management companies has resulted in a lot of turnover in the staff and some service issues. However, over the last 30 days the issues seem to be getting resolved.

Wow! What a beautiful place! I’ve visited a few communities and this one really shines! It is very well kept and the staff is very caring and compassionate towards the residents. It has great care staff, delicious food and resort style activities/classes. Always seem to have entertainment and nice parties just about every week!

We are very pleased with the care my mom has received at Sunrise. She loves the food and the staff very much. They are so patient and kind to her. The administrative staff are wonderful to work with as well. Although this is only respite care of one month, we will certainly consider it at the top of the list if long term care is needed.

From our first inquiry phone call until final placement of our Mom, we had wonderful, caring support from the knowledgeable staff at Villa Capri. They accommodated our schedule for visitation and move-in. We had a meal in the family dining room on the day of move-in that was very good, excellent service and beautiful table settings. Mom's room had been painted, new carpet and drapes installed. As a healthcare professional I was very aware of the surroundings, condition of the clients, their cleanliness and happiness. I was impressed with what I saw and have continued to be happy with the care Mom has received. The environment is more like a restful hotel than a care home. I want to especially recognize Kaylie Washburn for her attentive care of my family and patience with my millions of questions! I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of memory care.

The facility is nice and always clean. We like the fact that there is a menu for the residents to choose from that varies from day to day. This is a very nice community with a very pleasant and helpful staff.

I am very pleased overall with Villa Capri. We've had a couple of small slip ups that are to be expected at a new facility. They have a lot of activities here. It's not even a problem but we have had an issue with a pain med order. He has a medication that is to be given as needed. We have asked the staff to ask him how he is doing and see if he needs it. He wont ask for it on his own. There just hasn't been consistency in that regard. There have also been a few mix ups when the cable and phone lines were installed. We were given the wrong apartment # so they installed it all on the wrong side. So I would say the intake process could use improvement. Otherwise we are very pleased here.

My loved one is happy there.

I have to give Sterling Place two thumbs up! My mom passed away recently, but when she was there, they were very much on top of things and took great care of her. She had a fall at one point and they were right there to take the best care of the situation they could and let me know. The staff there is really very nice. It was a very good positive experience. I would highly recommend the place! I would go there myself.

So far it's been very good. I don't have any complaints. I can call them, they are very receptive to phone calls. The staff is very receptive. They give you choices at meals so you always have options. Others have even told me that we found a good place. I am very happy with them so far.

Great...so far. The request for review was sent in 5 days after Mom moved in, so it is a little early to speak for the long run. That said, so far, Pasadena Highlands has delivered on all their promises. Mom was released from hospital directly there and has not yet had the opportunity to experience the amenities offered. 4.5 stars (except for big time elevator waits). If able, I'll update this in a month or two. I toured five facilities. Pasadena Highlands was the best fit. Staff is friendly and engaged with the residents. The facility is immaculate and upscale. Highly recommend you check them out if you are looking for assisted living in the 5K + / month range (don't let price scare you as all charge about the same at this level of facility)

My mother was moved into Villa Capri and a day later we were called about Mom being unresponsive. They were concerned enough that Mom was taken to the hospital. We found that she had a UTI. We should have had a reassessment within two weeks of moving in, but it took over three weeks and two different drugs to get Mom over her infection so they delayed the assessment. I find that action to be commendable since their initial view of Mom was minimal needs that soon escalated. They love Mom but are concerned about her depression in the afternoon/evening hours and are in constant contact with family on her behalf. They have nurse on duty and are not sending Mom to hospital at the drop of a hat. We feel comfortable that Mom is in the best of care. FYI - she likes the food!!

My friend Ida is a resident and I recently visited her at Carmel Village Retirement. The facility is clean, quiet, and well maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive. The location is safely tucked away in a nice residential area. My friend is happy there and I would recommend Carmel Village to others. Thank you!

A family friend lives here. The community is located in a nice quiet area that's a few minutes off the 405 freeway. All of the rooms have patios, which is really nice. There is a front desk with a receptionist where you check in when you arrive. My friend was able to bring a surprising amount of personal items and furniture into her assisted living room - I was impressed at how spacious it was and how it felt like her home, just condensed down into a studio apartment of sorts. She had a queen bed, lots of wall art, a TV, a desk, and several chairs. There is also a kitchenette. She says it is easy to talk to people and make friends if you want to. She has some problems with the food, but she is an excellent cook and also very opinionated, so I suspect she may be the issue rather than the chef :) The only reason it is not a 5-star is because they need to hire more caregivers. The caregivers are very nice and obviously care, but they are so overworked - they are always rushing around and trying to help everyone but they simply can't do it all! My loved one said she pressed her pendant once when she was stuck in the bathroom and she didn't receive help for 50 minutes. Again, I don't think this is the caregivers' fault - rather, it's a matter of management trying to cut corners when they really need to hire more caregivers so the residents are safer, and both the caregivers and the residents can live more satisfied lives!

My loved one has only been here for a short time, but so far, I am very pleased. I really think this is a great place! The staff is really adjusting to my loved one. I'm visiting often to help my loved one adjust, but I am very pleased with the help they provide and the attention they give!

The staff was great in helping my dad settle in . It was a difficult time and they made the transition easy. There were many questions and they were prompt in answering them and returning calls.

I absolutely loved Rio Las Palmas. I toured several times and had a deposit down for several months. Unfortunately, my parents were not ready to move. In the end, I went with another facility because my father passed away and I needed Medi-Cal assistance for my mother.

We chose Sunrise because they had vacancy and offer different levels of care. With the different levels of care we would not have to move our loved one if she needed higher level of care. The community is very clean and the staff is very proficient. We are very satisfied with Sunrise and would recommend them to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.
