Waltonwood Senior Living

This is a gorgeous community. They offer independent living, assisted living and memory care. Each floor had staffing and cameras. This community was a little to expensive for us. The person we spoke to went out of her way to help us.

My mother has recently moved to WWCH Independent living. We are so excited because she has her independence, but is also with others. There are so many things to do and the dining is wonderful, giving her a tasteful balanced diet and great interaction with people! The staff is helpful and attentive. The transportation is wonderful, again giving the sense of independence without needing to worry about a car (and have us worrying about her driving a car.....). I'm so thankful they have assisted living and memory care if needed. I'm a healthcare provider with an independent company and have been in the assisted and memory care areas days, nights and weekends and the staff are fantastic! Actually, looking ahead to a time of more intense care is what prompted my family to consider WWCH.

They have good care. Their staff is well trained. I never saw any dirt, I never smelled anything, they are very clean. They charge a base fee, but then they add in the nursing care. They checked on her often, but I don't think she was able to use the call button. The parking is a definite problem, there is just not enough, certain times of the day it is very difficult to find parking. It was too big and too busy for us though.

That was a very nice facility. The only deciding factor for that was traffic for dad to drive through to visit mom. It was not very conveniently located for us. The staff was very nice and very friendly. They did have good activities, probably comparable to other places.

The cleanliness is excellent, I guess the care is everything that could be expected. The only thing they could improve on is the food. Sometimes it's not as hot as it could be, sometimes certain things aren't prepared well, like my sister says the ham is always tough and the bean soup, you'd be lucky to get a bean. She is just growing into activities now, there's a lot to do she just has to get out and do it, but she's getting used to this lifestyle. I would say they provide the information on activities, I don't think there's a whole lot of encouragement. I guess they have what they call captains, experienced peeople there who try to get them involved. I think she's enjoying it, she's running around and buying new furniture now.

This place was nice but expensive. We ended up finding something cheaper and in a better location. It was closer to my friend's doctor.

I liked the laundry service. It was always reliable as well as the room cleaning. Bingo was always a fun activity. Could have had more activities planned for the weekend. Would have liked a movie on a big screen after dinner. Meals, for the most part, were great with the exception of Saturday & Sunday dinners. Those meals did not live up to the quality of the week day dinners. Yes, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Our overall experience is very positive. Apartment is a little small. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food choices do get a little boring after a year.

Although the facility was clean and beautiful, the physical therapy would be limited to what the therapist could carry in his bag for my husband’s respite recovery. The daily exercise room appeared focused on nearly independent residents. Not a good fit for current situation for us.

Over all, I think my Mom is getting excellent care. She has some complaints (like temperature of the food not being hot enough, or the aides not coming "right away" when she hits her call button--but that is very subjective). One thing I notice occasionally is that they don't always put liners in the bathroom garbage cans. They have increased the number of activities, which is good, and my Mom is attending more of them.

I'm actually pretty happy with Waltonwood care of my mother because my mother is happier here than she was at home. She's safer and enjoys the daily attention. She really enjoys the activity people exercise fun activities the best. My one concern is, I wish I had a fob to get into memory care so I didn't always have to wait and beg people to let me in. If you are the primary person visiting, I think a fob would be appropriate. I am pretty happy with the facility

They were all on board when we were getting signed in.But once we were there, I cannot get anyone to respond to my phone calls or concerns. The front desk folks are awesome, and seem to care Administration finally responded to me and I feel good about the results

Most of the staff is very helpful and kind. There are some staff members there who work in the office who are not very communicative. And we have been disappointed on some issues that we have brought up.

We like the mature trees, gardens, and landscaping. Not much shade at new places. Mom does fuss about the food but maybe because it is becoming routine.

Nice facility, they are in the middle of a renovation which, in my opinion is a good thing as it appeared a bit dated, but obviously a very popular facility. There was no parking available at all, so they must be doing something right.

Food is excellent, space is larger and updated, more programs and larger variety of programs. Yes, definitely would recommend.

I liked the fitness session, apartment was small and dated. I didn't see many patients out. The hallways were wide.

Really enjoyed the tour with [name removed]. Loved the variety of activities available here. Residents appeared in good spirits. Slightly, disappointed by room layouts, appearance and size.

What we like the most about the community is the friendliness of everyone - residents and staff. We felt immediately welcomed. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Move in was great. People helpful but my parents don't like the food. Room is very spacious. The other two bedroom we looked at reminded us of a college dorm. This feels like a home.
