Food is excellent, space is larger and updated, more programs and larger variety of programs. Yes, definitely would recommend.

I liked the fitness session, apartment was small and dated. I didn't see many patients out. The hallways were wide.

Really enjoyed the tour with [name removed]. Loved the variety of activities available here. Residents appeared in good spirits. Slightly, disappointed by room layouts, appearance and size.

What we like the most about the community is the friendliness of everyone - residents and staff. We felt immediately welcomed. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Move in was great. People helpful but my parents don't like the food. Room is very spacious. The other two bedroom we looked at reminded us of a college dorm. This feels like a home.

It seems like a fine place, it is clean with good food and activities.

Questions answered, tour provided, activities, level of care, apartment options all discussed. Nice facility and staff. The facility has recently been updated. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

What we like the most about the community is that there are always things going on. Yes we would recommend Waltonwood - Cary to other families based on the experience so far.

I would recommend them. The employees are very helpful as are the people that live there. We chose them because it was close to family and the cost.

My mother has been here for about a month and we do not regret the decision. Waltonwood is clean and the staff is friendly. There is some room for improvement on the welcome process I think. It would’ve been nice to have somebody check in after 4-5 days and see how the resident is acclimating but I don’t believe this ever happened. Similarly, I don’t think much effort was made to pull mom in to daily activities and events- seems resident needs to be a self starter in that regard. But still, things are progressing fine and mom seems happy.

My mother has high blood pressure and they really don't cater to special dietary needs. She started out in independent living and is now in Memory care. The transition to memory care was handled very well. The staff in memory care does a great job with taking care of the residents and activities. Always very friendly and you can call them any time. On the independent living side she often did not go to the dining room for dinner because the food was too spicy or salty.

Walton Wood Ashburn is a beautiful and friendly place and I love that my mother in law is there.

Food is not great but improving. We were attracted to them because of the location relative to my home, near hospitals, has levels of care, beautiful apartment (independent living), great furnishings in common area, outings weekly/monthly.

I was happy with the layout and upkeep of the facility and my mom had friends. We felt she was safe there. I wanted to see some improvements in the meal service, the quality of the food and the lack of attention in the dining room to take the meal order or even refill a drink, and felt they could improve with the level of care noticing when someone doesn't feel well and taking meals in their room they should ask questions and take initiative to check for UTI or COVID or check their BP, etc. Instead I or my sister always has to prompt them to order a test or have the PA schedule to see mom.

They promised they would have assisted living units for my parents BUT they can not provide units for assisted living for my parents. I'm disappointed that Waltonwood Ashburn has not been able to provide a suitable assisted living unit in over a year.

We have had issues of staff trying to be helpful but encouraging my Mom to go to the hospital when not necessary. So we officially signed her up for hospice palliative care. To ensure that doesn't keep happening. Recently found a phone charger missing so it appears that it was stolen. They have been really accommodating and really try to serve the residents well. They are friendly and nice. I hear from the staff that others places pay better so there has been some turnover.

The help could always be better.The administration should give you more information as to who is who an what is what. They need better directions.

I would highly recommend the community. My Mother has enjoyed it even more than I think she was expecting. Everyone has been so accommodating and attentive to her requests and needs...and she's made several really good friends. There are plenty of activities to choose from and she even joined the choir!

Waltonwood is a nice place. My parents feel safe. The staff is alert and attentive to their needs. The staff is also very kind. The management works hard to communicate with the residents. There are many interesting activities scheduled. The management takes an active roll in offering different activities that respond to the residents interests.

Waltonwood is a nice place. My mother took a long time to accept her need to be there. My dad acclimated to it rather quickly. He walks every day and greets the staff with hugs and fist bumps. The staff is always willing to help them with whatever they need. The food has changed recently as well as the wait staff. They have both improved quite a bit! We've joined my parents for dinner and found the food to be delicious, the wait staff to be courteous and efficient, and the other residents to be friendly. A gentleman and senior lady approached my parents and pleasantly stated they were senior ambassadors.
