Waltonwood Senior Living

Food is not great but improving. We were attracted to them because of the location relative to my home, near hospitals, has levels of care, beautiful apartment (independent living), great furnishings in common area, outings weekly/monthly.

I was happy with the layout and upkeep of the facility and my mom had friends. We felt she was safe there. I wanted to see some improvements in the meal service, the quality of the food and the lack of attention in the dining room to take the meal order or even refill a drink, and felt they could improve with the level of care noticing when someone doesn't feel well and taking meals in their room they should ask questions and take initiative to check for UTI or COVID or check their BP, etc. Instead I or my sister always has to prompt them to order a test or have the PA schedule to see mom.

They promised they would have assisted living units for my parents BUT they can not provide units for assisted living for my parents. I'm disappointed that Waltonwood Ashburn has not been able to provide a suitable assisted living unit in over a year.

We have had issues of staff trying to be helpful but encouraging my Mom to go to the hospital when not necessary. So we officially signed her up for hospice palliative care. To ensure that doesn't keep happening. Recently found a phone charger missing so it appears that it was stolen. They have been really accommodating and really try to serve the residents well. They are friendly and nice. I hear from the staff that others places pay better so there has been some turnover.

The help could always be better.The administration should give you more information as to who is who an what is what. They need better directions.

I would highly recommend the community. My Mother has enjoyed it even more than I think she was expecting. Everyone has been so accommodating and attentive to her requests and needs...and she's made several really good friends. There are plenty of activities to choose from and she even joined the choir!

Waltonwood is a nice place. My parents feel safe. The staff is alert and attentive to their needs. The staff is also very kind. The management works hard to communicate with the residents. There are many interesting activities scheduled. The management takes an active roll in offering different activities that respond to the residents interests.

Waltonwood is a nice place. My mother took a long time to accept her need to be there. My dad acclimated to it rather quickly. He walks every day and greets the staff with hugs and fist bumps. The staff is always willing to help them with whatever they need. The food has changed recently as well as the wait staff. They have both improved quite a bit! We've joined my parents for dinner and found the food to be delicious, the wait staff to be courteous and efficient, and the other residents to be friendly. A gentleman and senior lady approached my parents and pleasantly stated they were senior ambassadors.

Staff is very friendly My mom has a one bedroom apartment and really likes it. The kitchen sink is mini bar size, could really use a little bit bigger sink. The only downside is the communication with the pharmacy and med techs for med management. We've had to really stay on top of that.

Someone is always at front desk when i sign in to visit. Lobby, dining room, bathrooms always clean. Staff is friendly. Good communication from staff/manager. Maintenance issues resolved quickly. Good weekly entertainment. Like the daily "check in" service they offer.

They were great about letting us use respite care as a way to 'try out' assisted living. I think being on the lowest floor makes it a little harder to get to know people or get reminded about activities. I think it would be a really great choice for a lot of people.

The staff rotates too much, so it's hard to get any consistency. Some are better than others. The housekeeping is fine. Communication with family was a big problem, mostly because of the staff rotating. After several complaints they now keep a running update that any staff member can check if we have questions, I am not sure why it took several attempts to get this done. I would think they would want to do this for all patients. The food is good. The move in process was excellent, they were very helpful. The recommendation I would have is to keep a file on patients that any staff member could access, not the answer we got so often on questions. I wasn't on duty. Overall, I would recommend this facility.

My loved one was briefly a resident at Waltonwood Lakeside and overall she had a good experience at this facility. The cleanliness, meals and activities were great. The staff and care services were very good. I would recommend this facility to others.

My wife and I looked for a place to move to in a couple of years.but due to a fast deteriorating health we needed I place now. We picked this place over all we checked out for a number of reasons. 1. Location. It is central, near our hospital and in an area we are familiar with. 2. People we respect including a past preacher were staying here. 3 size. It is small enough that you can interact with almost all residents. 4 . The staff seemed better than some other places.. We feel we made the right choice.

Very challenging to communicate in a timely and effective manner with admissions and administrative staff from initial move in to move out. Hard to get responses via phone messages, text or email. Communication about repairs and cleaning staff were always timely.

The main selling points for us were: 1. The availability of a 2-bed 2-bath unit 2. The unit's proximity to the dining room 3. All the units and amenities are on one floor 4. The quality of the food 5. The ability to transition to Assisted Living in the same campus. The staff are very friendly and quick to respond. Housekeeping is provided every 2 weeks and is thorough. There have been some short-staffing issues in the dining room and housekeeping, but management has been working to minimize the impact. They have a lot of in-house activities to participate in every week, as well as occasional off-site lunches or day trips. I would highly recommend this facility to others.

Our family had an in person tour and it is quite expensive but the tour itself and community is very nice. Some of the rooms got to overlook that pond, the staff were all very helpful, nice and very accommodating. Before we left we even got to take home a little bundt cake.

Our tour at Waltonwood Twelve Oaks was very nice. It just seemed a little big in terms of population for my loved one.

I picked this community because of, the newness, and the the ease of getting there quickly. The food needs to improve, although the variety is good. They need to improve on the ease of communication with the chef. Sometimes they run out of food. They need to do better with, the management of food that is availble to the residents. Overall, I would recommend to other families.
