My dad and I visited Emeritus at Danville and immediately was impressed. He liked it immediately and we moved him 2 days later.

Great staff. One price eliminates levels of care changing and means staying in same room with your own furniture. Small memory care unit (max 22) makes for everyone knowing the residents and having enough time to give individual attention whenever needed. Meals seem good and involve the community. Laundry is as needed and is done individually in the unit so rarely is anything lost and it does not build up. They know how to overcome most resistance problems like aversion to bathing and diverting attention when resident is focused on an inappropriate activity.

Greenfield is convenient to I-95, the staff is helpful and caring. The facility grounds are well kept and has benches for the residents to enjoy some fresh air on warm days. The price is competitive with other facilities we toured and I felt comfortable with the administrators.

We were getting close to going with them. I was pretty impressed with them. I talked to a woman there who was very nice. I was only in the main lobby and talked to her and we were just getting into talking about what the finances were. I ended up finding another place but I was still very impressed with this place. It was very clean and nice.

We had a great first impression of the facility and staff. They were very easy to work with and the move in was simple and efficient. There have been a number of changes; a new Executive Director, eliminated kosher kitchen, and other policy changes but I believe most if it has not affected my mother. The new Director is working hard to improve the quality and consistency of care. She has monthly Family meetings to communicate the changes and listen to feedback. The staff is very responsive and tries to be flexible to requests. Apparently there needs to be some investment in the facility (generator, security system, etc).

We chose this place for my mom because it is very close to where we live and we can visit a lot. They seem to provide the most value for the price, there are nicer places but they were a lot more expensive. I toured four other homes before deciding on this one for my mom.

The hallways and apartment sample reminded us of an inexpensive motel . . . renovated with not the best materials in many cases. Entrance and dining room nice appearance and clean. Did not experience the common restrooms. Trips, activities list, and newsletter impressive. Not sure if we can afford it, although we have only 1 similar community to compare it to at this time.

My biggest complaint is the apartment size, the deluxe studio is so small! We're on a waiting list for a one bedroom. Dad is happy there and the staff is kind. The place is clean, even when I show up unannounced I have seen kind staff working with the residents.

My mother is very happy at the Belle Reve facility in Milford, PA. Her room is the size of a dorm room and she has her own bathroom. She's excited about the way she is decorated it and loves it. She likes being there, making friends and going to activities. We love that they take care of her meds for her that she doesn't have to get confused putting them in the cases. Everyone is friendly and nice and she is enjoying the food. Occasionally they have live music and enjoys listening to it. Us as her family are extremely happy because now she's safe. There are people around her. They check on her if she doesn't go to a meal and that's wonderful peace of mind. I was the one doing all the contacting for her finding a place to go since my father passed. Some of the places I called had a waiting list, rude or just not nice in general. Everyone I dealt with at Belle Reve has been wonderful, friendly and upbeat. There was no doubt that would be the place for her so I went to see it and it was clean there was no smells and everybody was friendly. Before I was traveling from New York State to New Jersey and it was an hour and a half ride now with her being in Milford she's less than 30 minutes away and I love It.

4 stars because nothing is perfect. My Mom is happy with her apartment and meals. Everyone is very nice and attentive as far as staffing is concerned. Sometimes she has to wait her turn if she is looking to have a light bulb changed but that is to be expected.

This was a good move for [name removed]. The staff is friendly and competent. The place is clean, but more than that, the staff visits, checks on folks and treats them like friends/people they care about. [name removed] has a special diet and the dietitian/chef have made sure to meet his needs. Paul enjoys his meals and the positive atmosphere when he's with the other residents.

Common areas are very clean. It takes a little longer to clean up residents' rooms/bathrooms but it gets done. The staff seems very caring and on top of most things. [name removed], the activities director and [name removed], the director, are top notch. They do such a good job getting to know each resident and they do everything to help them feel welcome and to comfortable. [name removed] takes care of any complaints immediately. Occasionally an item goes missing or we get someone else's item (like towel or blanket). The Depends we brought in for her seem to be moving very quickly, so I don't know if they are being used on other residents or not. Food is pretty good. Overall, it's a pretty god place and we are happy with our grandma being there. Cost is super affordable too.

Everything is great for her. Perfect size and great size. We would recommend Viva Senior Living community to other families based on the experience we have had.

It is very clean. I'm just sad about the staff turnover. My brother is treated very well. The staff is super friendly. We love [name removed] and [name removed].

They are a little short staffed for the nighttime tech, which has a negative impact on my mom's dental care. They are not as disciplined with the diet of a diabetic, but there are working with me. The staff is very friendly and the nurse is on top of everything regarding my mom's health and her needs. She communicates very well.

There are two employees that need to be trained on how to handle dementia patients. I have been there personally one time when they weren't treating my father very kindly. I did tell them about that. My father loves the food they serve which is wonderful! The place is extremely clean which is nice. My father will be dressed in the same clothes for days even though we have plenty of clothing for him in his dressers! We have pajamas for him to wear at bedtime but apparently that's too much trouble for them to change him. I have been there when my father was able to dress himself but his pants & shirts were on inside out. The aides never fixed his clothing. Dignity!! Half the time his dentures aren't in his mouth even though I left a note in him room to make he wears them every day. When his dentures aren't in his mouth they are sitting in a container with no cleaner, dry as can be. What about his dignity? My father wouldn't be caught dead without his dentures in! Most of the employees are very kind and friendly. Like I said before, there are two employees who desperately need training. Over all the place is nice. There aren't nurses there like they have in other places. They have what you call "med teks" who distribute medication to the patients and call 911 if they need to which is a huge downside to this place. Overall, my father is okay there. No place is perfect but The Birches really need to step up about making sure the patients have their dignity.

The apartment is nice. My mother-in-law enjoyed it but unfortunately she passed away only 4 months after moving in. My father in-law was there until June and had a stroke. He was in the hospital for quite some time and is now in a rehabilitation facility. The nursing staff at Oak Pointe are working with the other facility to get him back to Oak Pointe and we are very grateful for that.
