My mother has been at Maristone for 3 months now and overall the experience has been very good. The staff is very friendly. It has been an easy place to make a hard adjustment for my mother who is suffering from Dementia.

Small community, active residents. No activity room - its called the pub! Its funny how important those little details are. Spacious rooms and a welcoming committee of residents. Memory care soothed my soul - the personal attention provided during our surprise visit was a lovely gift knowing my mom will ultimately need that level of care. Also glad to hear a geriatric physician made housecalls once a week. Waiting to hear back about pricing. Hoping its competitive!

So far it's working out pretty well. The staff is really good, and they keep it really clean. She likes the food. I would say that the staff could do a better job of communicating with the residents, letting them know what's going on. It would also be nice, if it were a little more clear, how to sign up for the activities, and where to go for the activities, a map or something. There were a couple of reasons I chose them, I liked the convenience of the location, and just the overall ambiance and friendliness of the place. Everyone was really outgoing.

Things have gone well so far at Emeritus at Long Cove Pointe. It's a nice looking, clean community, and the staff have all seemed very friendly. My loved one has not been here long, but so far she seems to be enjoying herself. I felt like the move-in process could have been better organized, I was pulled aside by the director to sign forms for an extended period of time when I was trying to direct the movers where to place my loved ones furniture.

We asked Colleen to set up an evaluation of my mother. This will be my first choice if she meets their criteria. Closest to our home, typical of surroundings mother would like and Dr is familiar to us.

Generally they do a good job here. It's a nice looking place, and it is well kept and clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. However, the problem seems to be that there are not enough of them. I feel like they're more worried about money than proper care, and haven't hired enough caregivers. During nights and weekends they seem very understaffed. We also had an issue with the emergency button necklaces the residents wear not being reliable.

This was a very nice looking newer facility, and was our second choice when we were looking into care options for our loved one. It was a bit more expensive than what we were looking for, and their a la carte pricing structure meant that the price had a lot of room to go up if our loved one's care needs increased.

I have a friend whose mother is there. I know they are very happy with it. They like that it's a smaller community.

We only looked at a couple of other places but we chose Emeritus because of it's location. The staff is very friendly. They may need to hire more staff to help care for the number of residents, but they do the best they can. I have not eaten there but the food always looks really good so I think it would be pretty good.

Very nice, food to me was fine. The young lady with me said it was just soup with a crust. So far this would be my pick except I am not ready yet. I am learning with my friend asking questions.

Maristone was the most expensive out of the facilities that we toured. We felt the value was not really there because the rooms were really small. Other than that the tour was good. It was multiple levels and we were looking for something that was all on one level.

I would recommend Trinity Oaks as as service. You'll need to follow up with them, as any good steward would do. They don't always answer my questions right away, which is fine. I don't have to call them over and over - they're usually able to get back to me within 24 hours. With this doggone Covid, I've not had interaction with that many of the staff, but the ones that I see the most are very helpful. The only care need I've had to get involved with is medication management. My loved one ran out of a certain medicine, which they remedied after I addressed it with them. They changed the nurse a few months ago, and she seems to be a better fit. And we really haven't had any medical issues in a while. Any time there was a problem before, they managed to jump right on it and solve the problem. My loved one seems to be reasonably happy with the food. They recently changed the menu up and tried to give more variety. They added things like ice cream and breakfast tacos, and are trying to offer more than just the standard options. As for activities, I know they're trying to keep a lot of social distance, but my loved one is still getting to mix and mingle with some of the residents.

I toured at Brookdale and thought it was nice. The facility itself was wonderful, but overall, I didn't feel that it would be the best fit for my loved one. The community seemed a bit dark to me, and I wanted something more bright and open for my loved one.

I toured Brookdale, and I really like it. I would say that the office staff was really cooperative. They had an entrance fee that I thought was quite high, and they were willing to reduce his first months rent to sort of lessen the blow of the entrance fee. Really the reason I did not choose them is because they do not accept state aid.

I toured Brookdale while looking for options for my dad. We were very comfortable with Brookdale except that it didn’t offer the level of spirituality that we were looking for. We wanted a facility that offered a lot of opportunities for spirituality, and Brookdale just wasn’t quite a fit for us.

The sales person that took us on tour was nice. I felt this community was to big for mom. The community looked clean, however it felt like I was walking into a hospital. They did not have a variety of floor plans and I just did not care for it.

I have a loved one living at this facility. Overall, they are responsive to my inquiries about my loved one's care, especially the nursing staff. However, there is difficulty getting medications when they are needed, sometimes waiting two hours for them. Using the call button often takes very long to respond to the patient. We were told it should take no longer than 30 minutes for a response. Management is difficult to contact and receive resolution of financial issues. Communication is lacking with respect to advising family or POAs of what steps the facility is taking regarding meds and medical care. The staff is friendly and give respect and care to the residents. This facility would be 5 star if they communicated better with family and POAs regarding financial issues and coordination with in-house doctors.
