Make sure you make a detailed list of everything that your loved one has. There were several items missing from her belongings. They couldn't find all of our loved ones' belongings. We had to make 3 trips and tried to get us to Take furniture that wasn't even ours. I hope it all has changed due to they have new management.

Bad experience waste of money

My Mother was there for two months on one morning at breakfast they ran out of food and gave one man a biscuit to eat and told him he would have to wait till lunch to eat.I had to ask 5 times to get her emergence fall switch fixed. She was in memory care locked up but her room door stayed open men and women are in the same unit don't think this is very safe also the woman next door would come in her room and just stared at my mother I was concerned about that.I think there evaluation of my mother was just to get more money. The extersize program is a joke.I was to have a meeting with the administrator on a Monday he new it and was not there the lady at the front desk said he was out of town did not care about my meeting or my time.I think it's all about money there. This is why she is no longer there.

Less than expected

Way worse as Brookdale! I now clean my Mom's room esp. the toilet every time I'm there. We pay for personal care but it is very poor as compared to what we received before with Emeritus. Poorly staffed with new faces constantly. Most aided not trained except on the job. No certified nurses aides. We have lost belongings including a denture. I have also found her with other people's clothes on!

Quality of care is horrendous - not enough help

My grandmother is currently here we are looking at other options. My grandmother developed bed sores after having an accident and waiting over 2 hours for help to the bathroom...and this was far from the first time this happened. Thank GOD my grandpa is there every day with her for about 12 hours each day or she would be in worse shape. When issues like these are brought to the attention of [name removed], the current director, he says whatever he thinks you need to hear to get you out of his office. And subsequently nothing changes. They have 2 aides to service the entire place (aside from memory care which has only one aide). [name removed] says this is an adequate amount of help which clearly means that he is clueless about the amount of care needed by his own residents. Bottom line is that Brookdale accepts residents that need more than "assisted living". They offer extra care for an additional charge so you believe your loved one will be taken care of. Instead they take MORE of your money without supplying the service you were promised AND paid for. Unless your loved one is completely capable of taking care of themselves beyond cooking and doing laundry then this is NOT the place for you and DO NOT believe them when they tell you otherwise. Side note: Some of the aides there are REALLY helpful and nice. But this place takes advantage of the really good aides. They are overworked and under appreciated and unfortunately end up leaving. This means there is constant turnover and communication between nurses, aides, and administration is abysmal.

Very Bad Experience

My mother did not have a good experience at Chandler Memory Care. She received little attention and was not taken care of very well. She was not watched. Most of her clothes were [Removed]. There were very few activities besides watching tv. There were a few good workers. Most of the workers spent a lot of their time in the office talking. They did not have a nurse on duty the majority of the time. All in all it was a horrible experience for my mother, and her mental state went very far downhill while she was there. The facility is beautiful, but the care she received was very inadequate.

They Will Add False Charges

My mom was living here till they changed ownership. My first bill with them doubled in a month! I was threatened to pay or it will be reported to credit bureau, so I paid but have not been able to get a refund for a lot of false charges. They bill based on "a la carte charges". The administration is horrible NOT the care staff. Her care was great and the staff loved my mom, I did not want to move her but we had to due to false charges.

No, No, No

Totally agree with Courtney and Lauren. My mother was here when it was Emeritus and it was lovely with great staff. Once Brookdale took over it changed drastically as "it is a business" as I was told by administration. The charges listed on here are so wrong. It is much more and they change charges on a whim. I received a $9000/mo bill for charges they decided to back bill me on for they never had me sign contracts on. I removed my mother to a lovely place where she died peacefully and well taken care of. I can only wish this for your loved one. It is not Brookdale. OH, they turned my dead mother into collection for their billing errors.

As for activities there is not a while lot, the building used to be alot cleaner and it should never be aloud to hire friends underneath you as you are the supervisor. some staff members seem to care but really dont. There is favoritism among the caretakers that tattle tail on every little thing..the building is becoming a mess and the residents are complaining..they have every right to voice their opion...they do pay enough..someone needs to really listen to them...

A DISGRACE OF "NURSING CARE"

I would not recommend Brookdale to my worst enemy. They are highly understaffed and have no compassion for their residents. Their turnover rate of employees is outrageous, and this is because anyone that is good at their job gets tired of being underpaid and underappreciated and leaves. They have no hiring standards and even hire people from Wal-Mart as new aides, that have no patient care training and NO compassion at all and yell at residents. Your family member may sit in their own urine or feces for up to 2 hours without any attention to the matter, and then be told that they're having "phone issues" and their call button didn't work. Mind you, this is the excuse that has been given for almost a year now......The director has NO interest in patient care and is only concerned about the corporate side of things (aka the money). If you view the place and interview to send a loved one there they will paint a VERY pretty picture and things will go well for.....maybe a few months.....but then everything will begin going downhill and you will see the true way in which things are handled. They have no problem promising extra care and CHARGING you for that "extra care", but don't expect to receive the extra care you have been promised. But don't worry, it will be on your bill, and you will be expected to pay the outrageous amount they charge you, all for your loved one to fall out of bed, sit in dirty depends, and not receive appropriate personal hygiene standards. Not ALL employees should be lumped in the same category, some of them DO care about the patients, but they are the ones in the kitchen, the activities, the housekeeping, not the ones actually CARING for your loved ones. Overall, this facility is good at TAKING YOUR MONEY but NOT good at providing care to your loved one.

At one point, this was the Finest Assisted Living in Middle Tennessee. (Tennessean Reader's Poll (2013) of 17,600 plus voters) 2010-til spring of 2014. Then it "merged" from a "Locally Owned and Operated Senior living community" to a "Chain" and just like a Chain, you get Trash for the exchange of your hard earned money. (The local dog pound takes better care of their inhabitants than the Maristone of today.)

Poor

Don't send your loved one here. Very inconsistent care, especially for the Alzheimer's community. Often my father is unshaven and not clean. Many issues with administering medication properly, and logging info and poorly trained staff. Unless you plan to become a baby sitter for your loved ones care, don't choose this place.
