This was my first visit to any facility as I research assisted living/memory care options for my sister. Having no basis for comparison, I found Forest Hills to have many of the qualities I am looking for. I had a wonderful tour guide and I do feel as if I had a very comprehensive visit.

Cardinal Landing is extremely clean and well-maintained. The staff are all very kind and seem attentive to the residents. There does seem to be a shortage of staff, however. I realize it's difficult to find people for this work; so the management may be doing the best it can. I have lunch with my wife often, and the food is always good. The kitchen staff are very accommodating and flexible on diets. I'm not sure how many of the listed activities are actually done. The daily list of activities is impressive, but I visit at different times, and the activity that's listed is usually not being done. This may also be due to a shortage of staff. I would certainly recommend Cardinal Landing. I feel very good about my wife being there. I'm sure if the staff could be increased just slightly, all would be fine, and I could give a definite 5 rating.

Residents and staff have been very welcoming to my mom. Activities for residents are well spaced out through the day. Facility is smaller and has a very cozy feel. Nice courtyard in center section gives it a safe contained setup. Has on site memory care if loved one progresses to that need level. Set up on medical model which is also a nice safety net.

I would recommend. Just as in every home, someone needs to be checking on your loved one regularly. They try to make it as cheerful as possible. They have a lot of events. Everyone there is so nice.

Overall very good value compared to other facilities we looked at. A little short staffed which is the case with many places as I have heard from people who have family in other facilities. Staff members are very nice and friendly for the most part a few can be a bit short sometimes the nurses are very good with her medications and we just had to switch pharmacies because of insurers and where helpful with that. The studio apartment is enough room for her and her 2 cats love seat and lift chair dresser and night stand. There are plenty of scheduled activities and the dining room has lots of options as well as in room dining when not feeling like going down to meals.

Friendliness is great except for one lady in the cafeteria that always seems to be irritated about something. Care services -having a hard time getting the doctor to fill out paperwork but other than that, the Care seems to be great. Meals and dining - seems like y'all could have fresher food instead of just frozen food all the time. Frozen veggies come out mushy canned fruit has never been good. Activities - I would like to see different events for them that they can engage with besides just bingo Value for cost - I think for the price they should have more activities available to them and the food should definitely be better. That was one of the selling points. They told us it was home-cooked meals and this is far from home-cooked meals. It's all frozen food or at least 90% of it is. I believe breakfast is not so much frozen as the dinners are.

The tour was very well thought out. Kaitlin was Very professional and but on a well thought out tour. Was shown all the living and activity places. Even talked with one of the residents that had been there five years. It is actually full presently. Well pleased over all.

We are pleased with Maristone. [name removed], the activities director is fabulous. There has been a lot of turnover in other staff but I think that is typical in this industry. Overall they are good. Upgrading the heating/cooling system was frustrating but it was needed.

They have lots of activities for residence to participate in. The staff are very kind and caring. The room size for a single is large enough to hold a full size or queen size bed one nightstand, a dresser and a chair, which is pretty much all she needs. I have eaten their food a couple of times and it is very well done. The only drawback I see is the expense.

Staff have been great to work with, overall they have assisted my mom with many daily tasks. Unfortunately when mom says she does not want to shower they don't push. They need to insist. Mom likes the food unfortunately she is not good at engaging in talk during dining which i hope good improve the longer she is there. She is also not proactive in participating in activities but I hope that will improve with time. Her room is the perfect size. [name removed] bigger and she would want to move around and she may fall more. She is having a tough time realizing she has a button she wears around her neck and can alert staff if she needs help.

I can tell you that the marketing lady, [name removed] was extremely helpful and welcoming and informative. Also, the ladies who are on the front desk and answer the phone are just delightful ladies to talk to, their names are [name removed] and [name removed] Also, [name removed] in accounting has been wonderful to deal with as well as [name removed] , the head of Maintenance. I would unreservedly recommend Forest Hills Commons as a clean and welcoming environment for any resident. I believe they have gone out of their way to make my dad feel welcome in his new home. It's a nice clean facility and there's lots of activities for people to participate in. I have only been in the dining room once with my father and I would honestly have to give the food maybe a three out of five? However, the dining room staff is very attentive to all the residents and I think they do a good job.

My Mom was not at Maristone very long, but the time she spent there, she received excellent nursing care. Between the inhouse nursing staff and the visiting hospice staff, they had her needs covered. She did not have much of an appetite and the staff tried their best to cover every meal, even if she didn’t care for the dining room meals. I appreciated their concern to feed her, keep her clean and dry, and to contact me with any incidents so I could get to her quickly. I truly appreciate the leadership from the Director of Nursing, the other licensed caregivers and the new management. Unfortunately my Mom passed, she was surrounded by many caregivers, from Maristone and Hospice providing love and support by making her comfortable and staying with us until her last breath. Many thanks.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. Makes worthwhile suggestions. They also show great concern about my father. Facilities are great, well-maintained, clean, and if my father isn't satisfied with something they go out of their way to accomodate him.

Love the Friendliness. And the activities they do try to keep the Residents. Entertained. Need to improve on the food. Overall, I would put my mom back there if she wanted to go of course, it's way too expensive, but that's like all the places.

The staff is wonderful and keeps me updated on everything going on with her big or small. The room size is great and they have many layouts to offer. They recently had a change in activities director. He is wonderful and keeps them on their toes.

The main issue there was that our mother's things kept me taken by residents who roamed. We understand that might be a little normal in a memory care facility but the director didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Once when a pair of her shoes were taken, he said, well she doesn't really need shoes anyway.

I feel care has not been as good as it was when owned by [name removed]. We have had some difficulty with the new DON being somewhat difficult to approach and problem solve with. New Admin seems to be more concerned about rules and regs than with what is best for residents. Hopefully this will improve with some time. The food is absolutely amazing. The techs that do the hands on care are wonderful and caring. Facility is very clean.

I never ate there and my dad did not participate in the activities. He is mostly non verbal now. Nice people and friendly staff.

Staff was mostly very friendly and attentive. Dad enjoyed the food sometimes and sometimes not so much. There were some staffing shortages while he was there. The nurses that managed his meds were great and kind. I would recommend the community. Dad enjoyed his own space and sense of autonomy.

I felt like the facility was nice and up to date. They really didn't have hardly any activities for the residents. Nothing for them to do, but sit in their room. I would recommend them, but they now have different owners. Not sure of any changes.
