Brookdale West End has been a blessing. My father-in-law unexpectedly required the need for assisted living care after completing rehabilitation for an unexpected hip replacement. Needless to say, the overwhelming issues our family focused on was the quality of care and necessary services that go along with his daily well being. There is such a wide range of facilities available in the Richmond area that my husband, brother-in-law and I visited at least ten different locations before making a decision. The decisions was based on a chart comparison between the variety of expectations we had (including cost, location, reputation, and staff) and the services available. During the last two years, we have been very pleased with the outstanding quality of care, regular family involvement activities, lovely atmosphere and a genuine sense of pride in what and how they do things. Everyone from from housekeeping to kitchen staff to nurses to the administration has been on their toes. The sales director, Ms. [name removed] , discussed all aspects of life at Brookdale and answered all questions. If she did not have an immediate answer, she had one soon after. There was no confusion about expectations. We are at ease knowing that [name removed] is safe and sound at Brookdale.

Caring, compassionate care. This is the care that our 87 year old father with progressive vascular dementia has received from living at Brookdale West End (BWE) for 1 1/2 years now. The Sales Manager was a significant help navigating us with an unplanned move for my father. Her resourcefulness and genuine sincerity was significant in helping with Dad's transition from independent living at his home to assisted living. The staff, from dining to direct resident care, has been exceptional ESP over the past 6 months!! They all know Dad's routine to keep him safe yet respectfully encourage his independence. Cost does increase, of course, with additional assistance, but BWE is very supportive with helping the resident maintain as much independence SAFELY until it is absolutely necessary for additional assistance. The activities director has been so helpful to insure that Dad is engaged in activities to have a quality life; they remind him and "reel him out" to participate and he has a wonderful time! We are also blessed to have staff who look after Dad that are experienced and competent. The Medical Assts were able to identify subtle changes in Dad's disposition that resulted in him having to have a pacemaker placed. They also identified new changes in his medication regimen that was concerning to them, notified the family and physicians and prevented what could have been a trip to the ER for Dad. Overall, we couldn't be happier than having had Dad reside at Brookdale West End. What we appreciate the most is the sincere care they provide to our dad. We trust that he is safe and in good hands in our absence. The only suggestion we would offer, quite honestly, is faster, effective wi-fi service in the residents' apartments!

My first encounter with Appletree Court was when we moved my in-laws there from out of state several years ago. We were absolutely amazed at the level of love and care our loved ones received there. It was totally professional yet very much like a family. They knew our names, got to know our stories, and they understood our hopes and dreams for our family members. We grew close to the administrators and many of the staff. We recently moved my mother there from out of state and it was solely base don the wonderful experience we had the first time. We feel like were back home!

My family and I have attended many events at this community! The Business Marketing Manager is always putting together such great events to involve the residents and their families and friends. My family and I have attended several Easter Egg Hunts, Stuff the Bus, and Trunk or Treats! This community is always doing something fun, which keeps the residence happy and entertained and giving them something to look forward to! The community is very clean and welcoming and always has smelt very fresh! Every time I am there, it feels like a cozy home. The staff is very polite and helpful. The atmosphere is always upbeat and everyone wears a smile. The food is exceptional too! They have chefs on staff that make fresh food daily like salmon, steak, and even lobster! Amazing community and staff! Keep up the great work!

From our initial visits to the move in and for the first months of residency, working with Brookdale West End Richmond's excellent staff has made the assisted living transition easy for my mother in law and our family. We have had an absolutely positive experience from the moment we walked through the doors to the lovely main floor living area. The personal attention of [name removed] and her staff in answering questions and assisting with the move has been impressive. The program manager, [name removed], is energetic and knowledgeable and has a real gift for working with older people. Her sense of joy and excitement is contagious. When we visit, we are warmly greeted and feel very welcome. Thanks, Brookdale and your entire staff, for a job well done.

Crystal Creek has been a good experience for my grandmother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. They have a memory care section that caters specifically to Alzheimer's. The activities and amenities are specialized for memory problems. Very positive experience so far. Thank you.

I cannot begin to express how the staff at Aspen Village has made me feel regarding my mother residing there. The care giving team is exactly that - a "TEAM". They work together to make sure everyone is comfortable and if not, their priority is to make it happen. My mother (who turned 90 in March), was going to the Adult Daycare at Aspen 3 days per week, for over a year and loved it. She got sick shortly after her birthday and had to be hospitalized for 6 days and was sent to a rehab center. Upon hearing of her rehabilitation, 2 of the staff members went to visit her, took a card from some of the ladies my mother dined with and a bouquet of purple and white lilies. Talk about tears flowing! To know my mother was cared about that much is truly heartwarming. This is truly a place that cares about their residents and their families. Thank you ALL for your astounding work. May God reward you for the compassion you exhibit.

My mother first entered Thrive in Athens, GA 2 years ago in assisted living them moved to memory care after breaking her hip. After almost a year in memory care she moved back with us to St Simons Island and she now resides at Thrive Frederica. A lot of research lead me to Thrive and it has been everything we expected and more. It would be awfully hard to find a better facility.

My parents were residents here from July 2017 until March, 2019. They lived in another facility from December 2015-July 2017. The difference was night and day. The staff that cared for them was both caring and compassionate. My father passed away on 1/31 and the respect that the staff showed as his body was wheeled out by the funeral director will remain in my heart forever. My mother moved to Memory Care following daddy's passing. I could not have asked for more!!!! The staff in MC took such good care of her until she passed on 3/14. The owners are hands on. I could simply not have taken care of my parents without their help. THE STAFF IS AMAZING. Note that there was a comment regarding a rude staff. The ONLY person that was ever rude to me was the current "executive" director who as yet to reach out and express condolences for my loss. However, I chose to not let that tarnish the 5 - STAR rating. THANK YOU BRICKMONT!

Mom has done so much better since living at the Gardens and has asked many times "Can I stay here?' The staff has been so helpful since this is a new experience for our family.

From the first time we visited Appletree for my parents, we felt so comfortable and at home! The management, staff, and caregivers love their calling to assist residents. Most have worked for many years at Appletree. The facility is spotless, and the staff truly CARES. The food is delicious and plentiful. The social programs are thoughtfully planned. Appletree is good value as everything is included in the price except supervised medication (I like the availability of washer/dryer for residents’ use for their personal laundry...linen laundry is included). Everyone is attentive to requests made and willing to help provide personalized care for my parents. My parents consider Appletree their home, and I think it is even better than “home” for their stage in life.

Appletree is quite simply the best facility the DFW area. My parents who are both 90 moved in 2 months ago and we have not been disappointed. The staff is simply amazing, the place is spotless and fresh, the food served hot and delicious, and their apartment is perfect for the 2 of them. I am so thankful to have found this wonderful home for my beloved parents. [Name removed].

My wife has been a resident, in a studio apartment, since [date removed]. The staff, from administrators to caregivers, is outstanding. The staff welcomed my wife with friendliness and care when she moved in. They helped us with the submission process and have continued to address our needs. They have encouraged my wife to be involved in as many activities as she wishes. The food, cleanliness and caretaking is great. Whenever we have a request, the administrative staff is never defensive but simply states that "We will take care of it." I would highly recommend Appletree Court as a place your loved one can be cared for and can be as active as he or she wishes.

Great, friendly community! Nice and clean community with lots to offer. Higher number of male residents than most communities which is important to my father.

My husband stayed at Brookdale West for respite so I could go meet our Granddaughter in France. All his needs were met including bathing, help getting dressed, medication and the chef even made his favorite food.He loved all the activities and she even looked for someone to play chess with him! I would definitely recommend Brookdale and hope to use it for respite in the future. He liked it so much he didn’t want to leave!

My husband stayed at Brookdale for respite so I could go to France to meet our new Granddaughter. He had great care by each and every person. I never walked through the lobby without every worker greeting us.The chef made him his favorite food and now he doesn’t like my cooking. He was helped with dressing and bathing and loved each and every activity they provided. I would definitely recommend Brookdale and hope to useit for respite in the future.

Appletree Court was recommended to us by my daughter's neighbor who had a parent there for a couple of years. My wife entered the facility on [date removed]. Since then, we have only had positive experiences. For instance, anytime I have asked something on behalf of my wife, I get a simple reply like, "We will take care of it." The caretakers are friendly and I believe that is a reflection of the friendliness of the Administrative Staff. This facility was an answer to our prayers. I would highly recommend this facility if you are searching for residence for a loved one.

We looked at a lot of facilities and Atria Stonybrook was our choice. Staff were friendly, residents were happy, facility was clean, food was good. The apartment was just what our family member needed. Lots of opportunities for residents to do activities in and out of the building. Perfect choice.
