Cannot say enough about the staff at the Bristal at North Hills. They all get to know both residents as well as families - not just their names but on a personal basis as well. My parents were so well taken care of and all their needs meet. Staff very friendly - always smiles and greetings to everyone. Great communication between staff and family members - my calls always returned promptly and they reached out to me keeping me updated. Plenty of activities, food plentiful and delicious, place spotless. My parents lived in the wellness area and then my mom in the memory care unit - everyone was so attentive and caring. I had peace of mind 24/7 knowing they were in such good hands.

My mother was in a facility in Birmingham, Alabama, and we moved her back to Long Island. We chose the Bristal in North Woodmere because of location and all in all friendliness of the staff. My family could not be any more happy with out choice. She acclimated very well due to the caring staff. As a family we are extremely pleased with the care that she is receiving. There are a myriad of activities that fit all areas that are important for seniors. The Bristal also involves family in different events that they plan such as Grandparent's Day. Holidays are also celebrated with special lunches or dinners. All in all, my family and my mother are very pleased with the Bristal of North Woodmere. Thank you for being there for all seniors.

This place is fabulous! My 93 year old mother-in-law is in the reflection wing. We see the extra care she is getting 24 hours a day as we installed a motion camera in her room. Day and night the great care doesn’t stop. The staff is also fantastic. [Name removed] the head nurse and [name removed] who runs the place are also terrific. [Name removed], who we met on our first day is also always there for us. This looks like a country club for sure, not what I ever expected from an assisted living facility. So it’s been one month here in your new Englewood facility and I’m sure it will continue.

My mom has been in the Memory Care unit at The Bristal at Westbury. She is still getting acclimated, but I do see a positive difference in her. They give each resident special attention, the food looks very good, the unit is clean and the staff couldn't be better. The thought of my mom leaving her home after 50 years was overwhelming for both of us. She seems to finally be adjusting, and speaks less of going home. I'm confident I made the right decision for her, and am grateful there is an option like this to provide the specific care she needs for her Alzheimer's.

Under the direction [name removed], the unit's staff was caring and attentive. [Name removed] is a very special person. We are giving a 5-Star Review of The Bristal of Westbury. We are so very happy with the care that our Dad is receiving at The Bristal. It was a very difficult decision to make when we could no longer face the fact that our Dad needed more care than we were equipped to give. Because of his dementia and bad hip and heart condition, etc., home was truly no longer a safe place. Because his children all have to work full-time, monitoring meds, food shopping, cleaning his home, making sure he was safe and monitoring his eating habits was becoming more and more difficult. Another aspect is when he lived home, we weren't truly "visiting" with him, we were "taking care" of things - now, we visit w/him and it is truly a visit. Since we believe our Dad deserves only the upmost in care and living facilities, we chose The Bristal of Westbury. Thanks to amazing ppl that worked at The Bristal, [name removed] and too many others to name and the most amazing, caring person, [name removed] - who was our Rock from Dad's initial Assisted Living stay at The Arbors... and then when he needed more licensed care, @ The Bristal of Westbury. The Bristal is licensed for ALL levels of care - it truly is the definition of "aging in place -- Aging in Dignity." Not to mention that The Bristal of Westbury is immaculate, my Dad and his clothes are kept clean, his meds monitored, his room is beautiful and gives all of us a "homey" feeling whenever we visit and the meals and the Entrée choices are amazing, truly a restaurant setting. The staff is friendly, loving, attentive to all Dad's needs...and to us - They have several different beautiful rooms (one on each floor) that families can reserve to order in food and have celebrations - there are even rooms that can be reserved where the Bristal will provide the food, etc. There are several livingroom styled rooms throughout the facility where Residents and/or their families can visit - the Residents are not just limited to one room that they can mingle in. There are many, many activities to keep those residents that are able, active. There is a beautiful movie theatre, 24 hour bistro, Wellness Center, hair salon, etc. In closing, although a gut-wrenching decision at first, The Bristal has far surpassed all our hopes and brought us peace of mind, we are in peace that Dad is getting the very best of care, in gorgeous, clean, loving surroundings - our visits are happy, he is content in his new journey. If your love one is at the stage of their journey where they require amazing care, look no further than The Bristal of Westbury - you will never, ever have to second guess your decision. We are truly blessed that our Dad is being cared for at The Bristal of Westbury. -- The Family of [name removed]

I am a Social Worker that has been working for a Home care company for 11 years. We provide Home care to many Assisted Livings. In that time, Bristal East Meadow has been one of my favorite communities to work with. There is a warm energy felt instantly when you walk through the door. I joke the reason for that is because it is the "Mom" of the Bristals, being the original one. The reality is, it is the people who work there! Our team has always admired and appreciated how easy it is to collaborate with their team to reach the same goal of enhancing the Residents quality of life. Just the other day [name removed], The Resident Relations Director reached out to an organization who helps to keep Seniors with their Pets. One of the Residents is having a tough time properly caring for their loved pet and this organization has volunteers who help with care. [Name removed], in [name removed] fashion, is seeking out ways to make the situation work for all involved with the Residents quality of life being at the frontline! That is just one example of why I love working with them!

To Whom it may Concern Our mother [name removed], now 103 years old, has been a level 2 resident of the Bristal Assisted Living Facility in White Plains since November of 2017. During those 14 months, my brother [name removed] and I (he lives in Maine, I live in Utah) have paid her regular visits, usually lasting for 5- 7 days each time, and have consequently had many occasions to observe the staff and the operations at the facility. We find many of the employees to be hard working, friendly, and caring of the residents. They appear to take pride in their work and a number of them go "above and beyond the call of duty” in their interactions with the residents. And, of course, our mother has various favorites, where her face lights up when they enter her room. We continue to be pleased that the facility is kept neat, clean, and has an “up-to-date feel” about it. The decorations during the various holidays always add to the welcoming and homey ambiance. The house-keeping staff maintains our mother’s room and the common areas fresh and clean. The maintenance staff does a good job of keeping things running smoothly and efficiently, and responds quickly to requests for repairs or modifications. The front desk is well managed and access to the facility is properly controlled but in a friendly manner; we are especially happy to note that the sign-in/sign-out procedures are strictly enforced. While not always responding in the quick space of time that our mother hopes for, the staff is professional and ready to help. Nursing care is properly administered to satisfy her needs. Drugs appear to be given regularly and in proper dosages. The food is well prepared with a wide choice to cater to every appetite. (We do sometimes wonder if such an extensive selection at meals is really necessary.) Our mother is too weak to participate in a broad array of extracurricular activities, but we sense that these are well-chosen, quite diversified, and appreciated by many of the more active residents. The senior staff have proven to be very understanding of the residents' needs and stand ready to cater to special requests of family members and visitors. The Bristal has done a good job of communicating any unusual events to us, as concerned parties of a resident. While there is always room for improvement, we feel that our mother is in good hands at the Bristal. [Name removed] and [name removed] sons of [name removed]

When sudden and catastrophic illness left my formerly independent and self-sufficient mom no longer able to live alone and unassisted, we turned to the experts at The Bristal @West Babylon. My family and I looked at several assisted living facilities in western Suffolk County, but the Bristal was the clear choice.....superior in being able to provide all facets necessary for daily living, we saw the potential for creating a new home and lifestyle for mom—the facility was and is visually stunning and immediately inviting--- their attention to detail was obvious from our first visit... clean- beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious, and airy, all these attributes caught our attention...but moreover and more importantly it was the Bristal directors’ and staffs’ attitude and professionalism that convinced us that this was indeed the right choice for mom. The West Babylon Directors and Managing staff have never let us down. They have been true partners in my mom’s care and tireless advocates for my mom’s wellbeing. A director or a manager is always available and only a phone call away and they make us feel as though my mom is their only concern for the day. We are very confident in their ability to see to every aspect of her wellbeing. My family and I rest assured that my mom is never alone, and that her physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing is their priority. The decision to become a resident at Bristal was thrusted upon my mom by the circumstances of her illness. We could not grant her wish to immediately return her to her own home once discharged from the hospital. Thus early on we all viewed her residence at Bristal as perhaps more respite than permanent. However, as weeks turned to months it became clear that Bristal was the best option to provide a lifestyle and environment worthwhile and beneficial to my mom.....yes, there were struggles in bringing about her adjustment to this new circumstance, but adjust she did- due in large part to the Bristal staff’s kind patience and support; to her new friends, and to the new opportunities Bristal offered and continues to ......thanks to Bristal’s unwavering dedication and diligence, my mom has come to call Bristal her home and we are all looking forward to many years and to the new life chapters living at Bristal will bring my mom and our family.

Our dad joined the Reflections group at The Bristal of East Northport two months ago and, to-date, we are very satisfied with this difficult decision. During our initial research effort, we felt that the staff we met with were genuine, honest, and extremely helpful in answering our questions. During the move-in process, all involved staff members were, again, helpful, patient, and supportive of this difficult task both on the family and the new resident. Since then, we have been happy with the number and type of activities offered to the residents on a daily basis. The aides are all pleasant, helpful, and concerned about our dad's well-being .... our visits are all unannounced. After two months our dad considers The Bristal his home.

I can wholly recommend the Bristal White Plains for the excellent caring environment it has provided both for my father, at 96 still living independently, and my mother, who benefited from the Reflections memory care unit during her final years. As I do not live nearby, it has given much peace of mind between visits to know they are so well supported.

The Bristal was my moms home and we were very pleased with the service n care she received there. She was always well taken care of..clean n fed and rested. But beyond her basic needs she also was stimulated with the activities. The staff built relationships with her and truly cared for my mom. She laughed with the staff and sang songs and enjoyed the company of the residents. I was welcome to visit anytime and I did visit often. The administrative staff were very responsive and supportive. The nurses were skilled and very kind. We have a very positive experience at the Bristal!

My mother spent her final years at the Bristol in Armonk and made such amazing friends there. She lived alone and didn’t want to admit she was quite lonely. I was always there for her, but having peers around her and proper medical care to monitor her diabetes made a huge difference in her life. At the Bristol in Armonk they hire such caring individuals, from the wellness center to the kitchen. Everyone treated my mother with great respect. My children also loved to visit her there and join in on activities.

Our family was exploring options for my parents to move into an assisted living facility, and after visiting more than a half dozen of them we whittled it down to a very short list, including this Bristal. Ultimately, my parents chose a different one for strictly geographic reasons (in a different state)...however I wanted to post this review as we were so impressed with the Bristal at Lake Grove. First, compliments to [Name removed] on their staff for handling our inquiries and visits (at least four of them) so professionally and thoroughly. [Name removed] is very knowledgeable and compassionate, and has a solid understanding of all of the aspects of assisted living and the many questions and issues involved. The facility itself is really impressive. The layout, accommodations, services and staff are all first class. They have thought of every detail when it comes to making it safe and enjoyable for seniors to live there. I highly recommend that you seriously consider this facility...and if you can, have [Name removed] show you around.

My sister and I knew it was time to move our mother into an assisted living memory care unit close to us in Westchester, but we had no idea how she would react. She had been living for five years with a full-time aide in her apartment in Queens, and the two were very attached. We were advised not to tell our mom in advance of the move so as not to make her anxious. The Bristal in White Plains was the first place we looked at, and it felt right from the get-go. The lobby was elegant and inviting and seemed more like a hotel than a senior residence. We liked that the Reflections memory care unit was right there on the first floor in a self-contained wing with an activity space, dining room, and only 32 bedrooms. Outside the entrance to Reflections were the Wellness Center, a library, a movie room, a sitting area with snacks, and a beauty parlor. All the bedrooms, whether self-contained or in a "friendship suite" with two rooms that shared a vestibule, had private bathrooms. The day we visited, there was a vacancy in a friendship suite, and we immediately put down a deposit to secure it. Meantime, we checked out another assisted living facility nearby, but decided it had a much more institutional feel than The Bristal. On the day we moved our mother to The Bristal, we told her that her apartment needed some major repairs and she needed to move out for a while to a place where she could stay until the work was finished. We said we had found such a place near us, and we were taking her there now. She got very quiet, then said to us, "You could have told me sooner. I'm not senile, you know." The next day, my sister stopped by before lunch to see how our mom was faring. When she walked into Reflections, our mother was nowhere to be found. An aide told her that when mom saw a group of residents leaving for a field trip to a museum, she announced that she wanted to go, too. We were delighted that she was already getting involved in the social activities. While living at home, she was isolated from friends and hadn't been to a museum in many years. Much to our relief, our mother acclimated quickly to her new life at The Bristal. She made friends, she said the staff was very nice and attentive, and she was comfortable in her room, which we decorated with family photos and artwork from her apartment. Our mother's time there lasted five months, until her sudden passing. But she (and we) were treated with kindness and respect every step of the way. Moving our mother to The Bristal when we did was the best decision we could have made.

I am sure I speak for my brothers too when I say I do not ever want to experience moving our Mom again. A power failure in our Mom’s home inspired the decision to finally act on the inevitable -- changing her environment and quality of life. Even with a full time caregiver living with her in her home, she was far too isolated and limited. And with a power failure, she was less safe. We had to make a change. The difficult decision was made and, four days later, so was the move. She is now a full-time resident at The Bristal in Woodcliff Lake! We are so grateful to have had the incredible supportive staff at The Bristal in our corner as we undertook this physically and emotionally draining endeavor. Our Mom is soon to be 92 years old. She is bravely and knowingly battling oncoming dementia that rears up in unexpected moments and lingers just long enough to create anxiety in a woman who craves control over her circumstances and independence in her life choices. Moving away from her home of over 50 years is no small thing. But she did it. We did it. And only because of the caring support, guidance, attention to detail, compassion and understanding of so many individuals at The Bristal in Woodcliff Lake. She is still making many adjustments -- from learning how to use the phone system to establishing a new morning routine to finding her way around the incredibly beautiful and well-maintained facility she now calls home. But, there is willing and patient support quite literally at every turn. Folks like [Names removed] have made all the difference and have been on hand to kick-start and navigate all of us but especially Mom through this transition. I am sure there will be many more names to add to the list of those she can lean on going forward. Her confidence and sense of security is already growing and only three days in, she already refers to new friends she has made among her fellow residents. We are excited for her as we know The Bristal is a place where she is not only safe, but where each new day brings the promise of joy, fun activities, and companionship, while still allowing her a sense of independence whenever she chooses to retreat to her private room. And she feels safe as she knows caring staff are only steps away and will be checking on her and looking out for her every need. So, while we don’t ever want to have to do it again, we have now joined the ranks of the many Bristal families who have shared the same sentiment: we only wish we had done it sooner!

My mom has been in the Bristal of Massapequa for 5 1/2 years.....I can't believe how fast the time has gone by....but I am so happy that she is @ the Bristal and thriving!! The staff can't do enough for the residents and they know each resident & family member by name....They have helped her to maintain some of her independence and for that & for their love and support, I am very grateful. As I have said before, I can't give her the life she had before with my dad, but this is the best life that I can give her now....thanks to The Bristal and its wonderful staff.
