My brother and I were lucky enough to be able to place my mother here after a terminal diagnosis and a nightmare experience at another "nursing home". Cottonwood Place is a home that allows people to age (and yes, die) with dignity. The people living there range from those needing assisted living to skilled nursing to hospice. The management and staff is incredibly caring. While the apartments are small, they are also bright, clean, and comfortable. The shared areas are well thought out and beautiful. This is a home for you or your loved one. Cottonwood Place is even welcoming to a tenant's family and guests. My husband and I both hope that we can find a place like this when we need the type of service Cottonwood Place provides.

I love living at Pinicon Place. It is the attitude of the staff from management to the care team that makes Pinicon Place great. I have a feeling of security here; and even more importantly, I feel like I am wanted and not a burden to anyone. Anytime I am out of my room, I get greeted by everyone I meet. There is always a smile on their faces while they greet me. That attitude starts at the top and works its way down. The leaders of Pinicon Place are all very personable and skilled at the handling of the elderly. The people who live here with me come from a time when we respected and honored our elders. We also took care of the belongings we had and took pride in everything from how we looked to what we do. That is how I feel Pinicon Place is operated. There is a level of pride here that makes me feel like I belong. Another thing that makes Pinicon Place great is the entertainment. Almost every hour there is something to do. It could be anything from something musical to bingo or a craft. We even go on outings and that brings me to another point. Here at Pinicon Place my loved one does not have to take off from work to take me to local appointments. With the Pinicon Place van, they can stay at work and Pinicon place can get me to and from my appointments. We also go places like the theatre, lunches and more. One of the outstanding things about Pinicon Place is the Chef. [Removed] is gifted at being able to come up with different kinds of foods and presenting it in a different kind of way. He also does a meeting once a month so he can find out what we like and what we do not like so we can have the meals we want. He does his best to accommodate all our wishes. That is truly wonderful! Almost as wonderful as the made to order breakfasts we get to enjoy every day! I so appreciate the fact that we can have anything we want for breakfast from bacon and eggs with toast to simple cereal or oatmeal. Pinicon Place also has a room for every budget. They go from smaller rooms to more spacious rooms. They even have a bedroom with a living room. No matter what you are looking for in space, Pinicon Place has the option for you. I have so enjoyed living at Pinicon Place! I thank them so much for making me feel like I am wanted and appreciating me!

I resided here 3 ½ years. I highly recommend Swan Place. Staff - Quick in RE - Spending to our needs – compassionate and caring – food good with choices – an At in cleanliness different activities – friendly residents - Good upkeep in housekeeping and maintenance - Free laundry – much more.

[Removed] and I toured Swan Place and we were so taken how clean everything looked, that’s why we choose Swan Place. Everyone is so helpful and considerate.

WOW, where do I begin. Staff at Floyd Place are superb. [Removed] remains informative, honest and thorough. [Removed] delights my mom with her warmth and friendliness. [Removed] stops what he is doing and assists in everything from hanging pictures to repairing leaks. [Removed] convinced Mom to participate in activities, which is not her norm. He has shown compassion and thoughtfulness. [Removed] shows caring with a mix of humor and I am told she gives excellent showers. [Removed] is detailed and accurate as well as responsive to any concerns noticed. To top it all off, this staff also assisted in moving [Removed] into the Floyd Place. I would highly recommend Floyd Place in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

Hi ******, Room *** is now vacant. The mailbox key and door keys are on the kitchen counter top. We were correct in that mom can no longer transition on her own. She seems to be adjusting well at Plainfield Health. Again, thank you so much for the love and care Sugar Grove gave to *********. You were there with very reassuring solutions during a very difficult time of change. I am highly impressed with the management, nursing staff, maintenance, and the dining room staff. The friends mom made, as well. She is not normally one to seek out friendships. But, she really did at Sugar Grove, and enjoyed meeting and eating with the other tenants. My sisters, my mom and I are forever grateful for your services. You are welcome to use us as a reference. We highly recommend your facility to care for our loved ones..

Thank you for your loving care of our mother. We have not seen so content and comfortable since our dad died 2 ½ years ago. You made a huge difference in her life! We will always remember you for that.

I just finished listening to some great blues and decided it was high time that I sat down and wrote a letter of thanks to Brighton Gardens, an Assisted Living facility in Prairie Village, KS. You see the blues gig took place right there at Brighton Gardens where there is a whole lot of living going on! The decision to move yourself or your loved one into assisted living is not an easy one. However, the years of playing Pro football finally took its toll on my husband's body and made us realize that living at home was no longer an option. Our first attempt at assisted living was disastrous. The highlight of the day was to circle the wheelchairs around an atrium and watch the birds fly. We were depressed and discouraged. But then I walked into the Marketing Office of Brighton Gardens. The minute the young lady opened her mouth I felt a sense of home. As we toured the facility I observed a genuine friendliness amongst the staff and the residents. I could tell that they were sincere in the care and compassion they were offering to all. They even had a resident rescue dog! This would be the place where my husband would feel comfortable and safe. Kudos to the receptionists who always greet me with a warm welcome. Kudos to the Activities Director and staff who are, in my opinion, the best in the land. Kudos to the Finance Comptroller who makes the payment process transparent. Kudos to the Marketing Director who got us settled in with ease. Kudos to the Nursing Staff who make sure my husband's health needs are met. And then last, but not least, kudos to the caregivers who provide much needed tender loving care 24 hours a day. I spend almost every day at the facility so my thoughts are based on observation and experience. The demand for assisted living care is at an all time high. The job can often be stressful, unappreciated and underpaid. Yet the folks at Brighton Gardens can seldom be seen without a smile on their face. Our warmest regards to everyone. IF YOU'RE IN THE MARKET FOR A HOME WHERE THE GOOD TIMES ROLL THEN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRIGHTON GARDENS IN PRAIRIE VILLAGE.

I have been made to feel very comfortable here. Staff has been so accommodating. It is truly home for me. I have a feeling that each and every one of the staff truly care and want to do everything they can to make my life better. I cannot say anything other than how great it is here.

I am a Guardian for an Elderly Woman with early onset Dementia. I moved her in over 6 months ago. We had a few problems in the beginning but the staff was very responsive to the needs of my loved one and the relationship keeps getting better. They took the time to get to know her. Great activities, lots of music. Not a big fan of the food, but the seniors seem to like it.

Greatest senior living facility. Very caring staff and such a friendly environment. Great meals and always clean.

I have recently read some poor reviews about Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village regarding medical care issues. I was sorry to read that some people had bad experiences there. I work in the industry and also have a loved one at BG. Unfortunately, I have found that medical care problems are found in all health care facilities whether they are senior living facilities or hospitals. Both humans and computers are not perfect and sadly mistakes are made sometimes. Since no place is perfect, I wanted to write about all the areas that I have found to be better at BG than anywhere else in town. The concierge team that covers the front desk are personable, friendly and extremely helpful. They greet you as you enter the building and set a friendly, welcoming tone immediately. I have been in other facilities where the front desk people scowl and make you feel very unwelcome. [Removed] in Sales performs her job from her heart. She visit my loved one in the hospital and helped me transfer my loved one from the car into the building when I needed help. She knows all the residents and families and helps foster a sense of extended family and community within the building. I know of no other marketing person in the area that performs their job that way. (She also sings like an angel and performs concerts...even sang to an upset resident to help calm him down.) [Removed] has taken the Activities position and created a department of staff who provide ongoing activities throughout every area of the building each day. (Other facilities usually just have one person doing the job, not a staff.) Where other facilities may have 2 activities a day, [Removed] has at least 8 activities daily. She has live musical entertainment weekly and is so community minded that she even has a weekly bus ride for the memory care residents to deliver meals on wheels. She has residents help make blankets for local pet shelters and helps the elderly residents feel like they are still contributing to the community in many ways. The maintenance staff are seen circulating the building daily in an effort to keep the building running smoothly. They are friendly and always willing to help residents and families with any building problem. The care managers of each unit try their hardest to see that their residents are well looked after. Their hearts are in the right place even when things don't go well. As I said previously, no place is perfect. But the atmosphere at BG still remains an atmosphere that is family and pet friendly and breeds a strong sense of community.

we went to a brunch at [Removed] run from a brochure they mailed us so we are moving into that facility.

My mom is here and she likes it. She’s very happy and we’ve been very pleased with the care that she’s receiving here. Everyone there is very, very kind. Mom is somewhere between independent and assisted living and she doesn’t like to go to the dining room for breakfast so she’ll stay in her apartment but if she doesn’t come down for lunch, they’ll check on her to make sure she’s okay. They’re very kind to her. The lady that does her housekeeping once a week is also very helpful and kind; I’ve seen her stop in the middle of vacuuming just to help my mom get dressed, even though she didn’t have to. The people in the dining room, the kitchen and wait staff, are very interested in making sure she has plenty to eat and that she gets what she wants. The facility plays music that’s from the generation of the residents, there’s spa water that they serve with cucumbers or lemons, and fresh cookies. They even have a welcome sign with new residents’ names that say “Welcome to your new home.” It really looks like an individual’s home or a resort, rather than a place for elderly people. Everyone at Sycamore Manor goes above and beyond what they have to do and they genuinely seem to have the residents’ best interest in mind. It really is a nice place and I would definitely recommend it – in fact, I already have other family members that are interested in possibly moving in.

My mother just moved here and we have never seen her this happy. Unfortunately she has been in 3 places in the last year, the first 2 were not a good fit. When we contacted Greene Place I couldn't get over how wonderful and caring the staff was to me as just a guest in the building. I had several conversations with the Executive Director before we decided for sure this was going to be our last stop. She was right! In just this short time my mother is living again and smiling again. She is active and happy. For our family this is such a relief. I never enter the building without being met with a smile, I can tell that the staff truly care. We never experienced this kind of treatment in all of the places we have ever been with any of our family members. I can tell that [Removed] works hard to keep the staff happy which keeps the residents happy too. Her calm collective manner comes across in the staff, you can tell they feed off of her positivism and caring spirit. My mom absolutely loves her and all of the other staff. We do not feel like a number here, but a part of the family. The Greene Place Team has nailed it. Thank you so much for giving my mom the home and love she deserves.

Floyd Place is a wonderful place for my father. He has been here almost a year. The staff here is so friendly and professional they go above and beyond to take care of their patients. I have been so comfortable having my father here because I know I do not have to worry about him. They keep their rooms clean and do the laundry. Food is a good balance meal three times a day , snacks at night. Maintain the rooms so everything is working right. My whole family is so impressed with how well our father is taken care of. If something is wrong with my father they call me right away. My father gets along with the staff very well. Highly recommend this facility to any one.

My mother has lived at Floyd Place in Sergeant Bluff for the past three years. Although she did not want to have to leave her home, she has always told me that she is very happy and comfortable at Floyd. I live on the West Coast and am only able to visit my mom twice a year, but I consider the caring staff and other residents at Floyd to be part of my own extended family. The management is very kind and efficient, and all the staff with whom I have interacted are kind, friendly, and capable. The meals are delicious, and activities are varied and engaging. If I were unable to continue to live in my own home, I would want to be able to live at Floyd Place!

We put my grandma here and she really was enjoying it till her health turned and she had to be put in the hospital. But when she was there she enjoyed the activities like bingo and she said the food was great. The staff was attentive and friendly. It always was clean and grounds were well maintained. I would definitely recommend this community. She is on the skilled nursing side now and I know she will be well taken care of here too.

My Mother developed dementia in Feb-Mar 2016. Within weeks she was unable to care for herself and I had a sudden need to place her in a facility. We, her family, feel very fortunate to have found Hope. The staff is extraordinary, and no request is ignored. Management is very responsive and the staff took excellent care of all needs. Mother would tell me (and I observed) their caring behavior. Most important: I would choose Hope again!
