We toured this community and it was very nice. I didn't see a lot of interaction with the residents but they did serve us lunch and it was very good.

They really do try to make this community feel like home for our loved one and that she is not just a guest there.

Seems like a nice, new place, and the person we talked with was very pleasant. It also seemed, though, like they weren't totally clear on their policies, practices or capabilities. Interaction was also less personal than the other places we looked at.

The community is still on lock down. The guidelines are being followed by the community, it is just hard for the residents and their families. At first with my loved one moving in to the new community, there weren't enough residents to be able to pull activities. All current activities are virtual. If the resident goes to a restaurant they would have to quarantine for a specific number of days. I believe the community is overpriced. I wouldn't recommend anyone live in assisted living during the pandemic.

Lived in this community for 1.5 years and experienced a 3-week lockdown for the flu in 2019 and 3 months in 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff has worked hard and done well during these problem times. For whatever reason, the diet has been sometimes good. The meals often are not well balanced with pasta and rice frequently presented, 6 or 8 times/week. The services both full time and part-time do a very good job. Activities and support are as good as possible.

They don't have 24 hr care there at all. For a family member that doesn't need a lot of care and attention, it is fine. Residents seem satisfied and happy there. But it is not for residents who need extra help or those with memory issues. My father used to be quite social, but he wasn't able to be social there. They don't provide medication administration or any services that I know of.

My mother has moved into the boulevard of St. Charles, and to be fair, the community is brand new, and just opened in September. With my experience so far, I feel that this place opened before it was ready. I say this because I’m seeing that they don’t have enough staff to accommodate the people needed served at mealtimes, not enough cooks in the kitchen, the food is not always hot because of the short staffing, there isn’t enough hot water in the rooms, and there is a large turnover rate in the staff that is there. I do feel that my mother is safe here, and I think the place is clean, beautiful, and doesn’t look at all like a nursing home, but I feel it needs improvement. They should have waited until they worked out all the kinks before they moved people in. At this point, I’d rate it a 5 for its beauty and cleanliness, but maybe a 3 as far as the inner workings of the place.

I toured the community The Cambridge. I felt like the person who gave the tour was very pushy with the deals they offered were for that day only. I did not feel comfortable not being able to sleep on the idea if it was a good fit for my loved one. Not the right fit based on the first impression.

I think the staff here did a great job showing me around and they did take their time and answered all my questions. I just felt that this community was too big for what I was looking for for my husband.

When I visited this community the residents I saw did not seem happy. I was not impressed with the visitor parking. The community seemed clean and the person I met on tour seemed nice.

Very nice but no Medicare

I wish there was a manager at night this really would make me feel more safe and secured. The housekeeping does a good job maintaining the community clean and my room. One thing that could make this place better would be for them to provide more variety of meals. At the moment i wouldn't recommend this place till some changes are made.

Big place ,people moving around , Place was kind of dark ,dull looking ,made me wonder why ,I know the place is older ,,price was about the going price for someone going for a small room and low assist needed

The Parkway Senior Living is a brand new facility. We have had our hiccups with invoices and billing. We are pleased with the people here. The staff hasn't dealt with anyone on long term care. I don't think they have experience with anyone like mom as far as her insurance goes. I don't think the staff are aware that has every insurance company has different requirements. Mom is the first one that has had long term care at this facility. I would like to see the staff be more knowledgeable on moms benefits with her long term care and with insurance policies in general. Overall so far I am pleased with this facility.

The food is just so-so They said that they were sending dinner up, but it never came up. I thought three meals a day were included but it's only two. I think they should have more opportunity for transportation to and from doctors appointments.

We didn't integrate very well, as far as an adequate care plan. We liked that they had tier levels of care, that's why we chose them, and we are on the highest level of care, but they aren't all trained to provide for the level of care. They do their own training here. They are a little understaffed as far as the nursing staff, and have been trying to hire a new nurse since before we moved in, and the caregivers aren't well trained. The food isn't great, she hasn't been happy with the food, and I haven't been impressed with it either. When I bring up the issues, they do make an effort to fix things. When we first came we didn't get an orientation package at all, we don't know who to ask for what. It's a pleasant environment, some of the staff have tried really hard to step up, but individuals can only do so much. In the first month I was there, I was physically there every single day to make sure things were done.

I toured here and I didn't love it. The Decor is old and depressing. It seems like the residents just sit around in their wheelchairs. The rooms have a hospital room feel, but that could be because they were using the furniture the community had to furnish the room that I looked at. It's hard to rate the value or the care services from what I looked at.

We toured this facility and then Legacy Senior Living. Legacy is hands down the nicer community. Walden Place had unhappy residents that happened to be complaining right as we toured which I am sure affected my opinion negatively. Legacy seemed like a fun neighborhood with lots going on. We honestly wanted to stay and hang out there! My suggestion is to tour all the facilities and to observe the friendliness of staff and satisfaction of current residents. A couple hundred dollars more per month is worth the nicer apartments, variety of menu items, and 24 hour staff on site to lead activities and secure the building. Both buildings were full in capacity so I am sure they both have pros to them but the initial impression spoke volumes to my family and I. Mom hasn't complained once at Legacy and for the first time in a long time, she enjoys hosting again.

The thing with the bigger facilities is that there is so much commotion going on, he would be caught up in all of this movement of people coming and going and circulating. I don't know how many patients they have but I couldn't help but be reminded of Grand Central Station.
