I would say they make big promises when you tour but the reality of living there is not the same. They also have numerous excuses when you confront them about problems make promises and never follow through. I would not recommend them to a friend. Turn over of employees is high they don't seem happy working there. Have had some wonderful employees but they always quit.

This community is only 5 1/2 months old.. Therefore the surroundings are beautiful. Apartments are beautiful and open areas are pleasant. However, we all have been paying our rent faithfully for months, but we don’t get what we pay for. When I turn on my TV or my laptop I have a 50/50 chance that they will work. They say that they keep calling the companies to fix the problem but that doesn’t give us access to our TVs or computers. They have been trying to fix the problem for 5 1/2 months. There are 3 to 4 activities planned each day but there are a lot of repeats . If you don’t like cards you have limited activity. The hardest thing for me to deal with are the “middle school” cliques that exit especially in the dining room. When I toured this place, I I was told I could sit anywhere in the dining room. This is not true. Twice I asked to sit at a table and I was told “No.” Now I know there is a table of 8 who are friends and won’t let others join them. Hurtful? .

They need some staff. For sure. The turn over in management has been excessive. The kitchen needs work and they provide better dining room and kitchen services to Independent Living than they do to Assisted Living. I cannot put payment on auto pay because they cannot be trusted to keep their books in order to so I must review my bill every month. My mom has made friends and that, we are thankful for. You must advocate for your resident and keep on top of the facility. It's a shame that all the money they charge doesn't really take away the family's headaches.

I would not recommend them. You only have 1 opportunity to make a good impression & they did not. The staff has lied, meals are cold, the activities are lacking (no trips but to the store), and they charge you a lot of money but do not earn that money.

The activity director, I feel, is the friendliest of all. Basically, the entire place is understaffed and has an inadequate amount of glasses and silverware. Those who have been here much longer than I, complain that we no longer have placemats and the staff is rushed to clean the tables; there is no longer any jelly on the tables-- we have to ask for jelly and two is the maximum allowed. The housekeeping is not what I am accustomed to. My move in was a disaster; most was because of the moving company's poor job, which is still being investigated. However, when I arrived alone at about 7:30 pm it was dark and there was NO STAFF present! There is no staff from 7pm to 7 am. Since the truck refused to unload the truck until morning, I had to sleep on the floor--no furniture at all. I had just had surgery a month before and I also have a cat who was very traumatized. I am also 84 years old. I was exhausted. I chose Holiday Montvale Estates because of the apartment of 1079 sq ft and all the windows. I should have checked more, but I had been looking in this area for at least a year and the biggest ones I found only had about 480 sq ft. Yet after 6 surgeries in 10 years, I knew I had to move closer to my son and granddaughter.

We chose Carriage House because of friends who had parents there a few years ago. I thought it was a good place based on how it was for them, but they were on the assisted living side and not the memory care side. It was clean and bright and not drab and dreary like the memory care side. Not what we expected, thought it would be just as bright and cheery especially for the cost. It's like "let's just put them in the back of the building out of the way". It's a depressing area. It needs much improvement.

My mother went from Independent Living at Vitalia (which was nice) to Memory Care. Pay attention to the Memory Care “care fees” which are extra. Make sure you ask for the price list before signing the lease to make sure you can afford them. If you have our experience, the fees will quickly add thousands to the rent price.

If someone asked me about the community I'm not sure what I would say. The staff is very friendly. My mother's is happy with that. The restaurant, that's another story. I've eaten there and some of the food is good but my mother and my aunt, who also lives there, complains a lot about dinner. That's the only meal my mother eats there. The restaurant is the only real amenity that they have. And I don't think what we pay a month is worth it. We picked this place because my aunt lived there and she's my mom's sister. I let my mom decide, but I did tell her if it was me, I would choose to spend my finally journey of life with my siblings. That may have been a mistake, but it is what it is.

With the meals and dining service they don't let the residents order off the menu when they have the buffet, we wish they would go back to menu ordering for the residents. We cannot rate the activities because our loved one does not participate in them.

The move in process at The Princeton Senior Living was rocky, as we got no information on who to contact for different things. It is difficult to get someone to call you back when you have questions. For example, we had questions regarding the first bill. We were told that someone would call us back, but no one did until they called because the bill was not paid. Then they tried to charge us a late fee. I would recommend The Princeton Senior Living if your loved one is fairly uncomplicated except for the dementia. The care partners that have daily contact with the residents are fantastic and caring. They have very little training, however and individualizing care based on specific residents' needs is spotty. If your loved one is likely to be satisfied staying in a large group and doing all the fairly routine activities, this facility will be great. If your loved one tends to prefer being away from a group or is very impulsive, they have difficulty adjusting their techniques to fit that person. Communication from a nurse(LPN usually) is very hard to obtain, so if there are ongoing medical issues or you are still trying to find the correct medications to help dementia behaviors, it is difficult. Also, although this facility is supposedly a Level 2 Assisted Living facility, the manager didn't know what that was and none of the residents here are at a Level 2 need. In summation, if your loved one is physically healthy with just the dementia and you are willing to deal with minimal and slow communication, the actual care and kindness to the resident is outstanding at this facility.

My parent is elderly but able to care for herself. We chose Vitalia because in the initial presentation they convinced her she wouldn’t have to cook or clean anymore. This was becoming very tiring for her in her home. We were also looking for social activities. The cleaning that is done takes less than 10 mins per unit and consists of a spray bottle and rag. I don’t think they have REALLY cleaned the bathroom in over a year. The cook is replaced every 3-4 months. The only upside is socializing which the residents do. Very disappointed.

They have not cleaned her apartment unless I questioned when there would be there. There has been a problem since she moved it. Once they are there they do a good job. Trash seems to always be over flowing. Friendly enough but usually the person you need to discuss a problem is not there ie, housekeeping, billing, manager off Friday, Saturday and come in on Sunday afternoon. Every one seems too busy and tell residents will get to it as soon as they can and it may not happen. The food is usually dry because they have been plated wait to serve. Our loved one has not used the activities. I don't feel the quality is the same as when she lived there before. I have started researching other facilities. Her 3 months will be up at the end of October. Mom likes her apartment, feels secure, people nice.

This was a problem for me it was like they don't want you knowing there care fee's. I had t write corporate to get permission to see them. If something changes there quick to add the fees and slow to take them off. That was my main problem. Good Staff and good food. We cannot comment on the value for cost, and when it comes to the activities our loved one does not participate in them.

It's a nice facility, still trying to work out some issues. We picked this community, because of the location, it's a nice place, and at the time, the personal care. I would recommend it, as long as they would put in writing, what personal care they will do.

We picked this community because, the sales person and administrator had a very appropriate concept about the residents. The concept and intentions is really good, but they did not deliver, the level care that I anticipated. There is a lot of content and happy people there, but it was not the right fit for my loved one.

The food was very good in the beginning. The activiites were better around the holidays, but it has tapered off a bit. They need to improve on communication and be swift with their actions to medication management and scheduling physical therapy and occupational therapy. The facility is very clean and nice. The care fees are a little expensive. There should be a higher quality, for the prices that they are charging. Other than that, things is great.
