My wife and I have lived here for five years. The facilities are very nice, and the kitchens have granite tops everywhere . There is a beautiful very large swimming pool in the middle of the compound with lounging cabanas and outdoor grills at each end of the pool, covered against the weather. Our Activity Director keeps us busy with lots of things to do, including trips out for lunches and dinner. We have a very nice club room with a bar and bartender, and use the room for various activities including well attended pot luck “sing alongs “ on Friday nights. It is a good place to live.

Five and a half years ago I moved to Verena from another senior living community, where I had lived for five years. There was nothing glaringly wrong there, but it lacked something significant enough to have me want a change. The apartments at Verena feel more spacious. The Common areas are not overly large, but comfortable and that is the key word for the whole community. Community is a summation of life at Verena. The staff and the residents have a bond that binds us together to make life a shared experience to what ever extent you wish. You are free to be as private as you want or as involved as you. It feels like an extended family here. It is home.

I’ve lived here 1 and 1/2 years. I’ve made a lot of friends; other residents and also members of the staff. I’m happy here, content and I feel safe. There are many activities like cardio drumming, line dancing, water aerobics to name just a few. The food is pretty good and I couldn’t ask for a better housekeeper than [name removed]!

Everyone is so friendly and kind. The food is very good and so many activities to participate in. I love the cardio drumming and line dancing. The gym is always accessible and is convenient. It's just a fun place. You can sit in your room and read or go to the living room and meet people. I'm very happy I chose Verena for independent living.

I’ve lived here over a year and absolutely love it the people, the fun activities, the beautiful grounds. Everything is better than I ever expected. And the parties in the clubhouse are so much fun and the beautiful swimming pools and the heated swimming pool you could not ask for anything more.

There are many activities daily. They have shopping trips, and many day trips. You can be as active as you desire, but if you prefer some alone time that is ok. People are very friendly and always have a smile on their face and a "hello". You will see people in the halls with their walkers, canes, dogs, etc. All are accepted.

A year and a half ago my husband and I decided to downsize a bit and after seeing a few properties we really liked everything that Chesapeake Bay had to offer. The exterior of the whole property is very appealing. You can get apartments in the towers or you can be on the perimeter in the cottages or villas as they call them. And we chose one of the cottages. The kitchen is very good size and the countertops and cabinets are wonderful. We chose the two bedroom two bath and that works for us, and the 8x5 outdoor patio houses many of my favorite plants that I didn't have to give up. The residents are so nice! They are really here for each other, helping when needed. There's always a friendly hello whenever you run into anyone. Activities? There are many things offered for us to choose from. From certain kinds of card games to bingo to exercise and even my favorite, genealogy, there's so many things offered. There are trips out for lunch or dinner or further. A good choice!

Chesapeake Bay is not the typical adult complex, it is a community of caring residents and staff. It has multiple activities you can participate in and a beautiful and comfortable environment with many amenities. Whether your a single adult or a married couple, you are welcomed and truly feel the friendliness and happiness that surrounds you.

The staff are wonderful - the servers and concierges. The entire staff does a good job. They are all helpful and enjoy taking care of seniors. It’s a smaller community so you get to know everyone.

"Life is what you make it" so make it big at Verena! The staff is phenomenal at making you feel at home and they do whatever is necessary to lighted your load and encourage you to enjoy your life!

Would recommend this community to anyone looking for welcoming and comfortable senior living. The dining staff and employees ROCK! It is a place I would love to call home. Visits during Wine Down Wednesday and Friday Cheers make beautiful memories. Cannot wait all of the Christmas Holiday events here!

Everything is set up for the comfort and support of the residents to include the apartments, the lobby and dining areas, the great food, the caring and supportive staff, and the friendly residents who participate in the many activities.

I've only lived here for a few months but am very happy. My daughter did some research and we decided on Verena. Not sorry for our decision. Very happy here!

I moved from Brookdale to Verena about 3 weeks ago and there is no comparison. I love it here! I immediately felt part of a family. The staff has helped every way-from the director breaking down moving boxes to food to resident engagement.
