True Connection Communities

I visited a resident at Laurel Springs in the middle of December 2025. I found this little community to be peaceful and offer a safe and active place for residence to live. The roads were free of trash and the lawns well maintained. All of the residents here seem to know and care for each other very well.

Verena at the Glen is a wonderful independent living community. [name removed] at the front desk are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. Stephanie and Jamie are incredible leaders who truly care about the residents and ensure the community is beautiful, engaging, and well run. Judy does an amazing job creating fun, inclusive activities that keep residents active and involved. You can truly feel the care and heart throughout the entire community.

My husband's parents have lived at The Cottages of Monroe since [date removed] They moved from Mississippi to be closer to family. The Cottages - and Monroe, in general - has been a wonderful place for them to retire. They've made many friends at The Cottages and at their church. The Cottages began to feel like home very quickly. [name removed] does an outstanding job as the community manager. In our opinion, [name removed] IS The Cottages of Monroe! She is the most kind and caring person you could ever hope to meet. My husband and I have always felt like she treats her residents as though they are family. [name removed] is also an absolutely fantastic cook/caterer - everyone looks forward to her weekly lunches as well as various other special meals that she prepares throughout the year. It comes as no surprise that The Cottages always has a waitlist! My husband's parents highly recommend The Cottages of Monroe if you are looking for an independent living community in the area.

We have been at Verena at the Glen for about 15 months. Choosing to come here turned out to be an excellent decision. Indeed, some of our fellow residents have described life here as being on a permanently-anchored cruise ship. The chief characteristic is friendliness -- of our fellow residents and of the staff. Days are so filled with programs that we have difficulty deciding which to attend. Food is excellent and pleasantly served. In short, a great place to spend our senior years.

Laurel Springs is a very beautiful neighborhood that is unlike other properties I've had seen in Mustang. The landscaping, clubhouse, pool, walking trails, and homes are all unique and feel very resort-like. Everyone I have met when visiting have been friendly.

I have a wonderful life. There are always friends to enjoy and learn with. My apartment is my comfort and I love it.

Verena is a wonderful place for seniors and has everything we need. All staff are amazing. All our residents are made to feel like we are "home" and are all family. We are cared for and protected in every way. I wake up every morning thinking how lucky I am.

Grateful to be here. I feel safe. Love it here because food is delicious and personnel are kind to me.

I have lived here for about 8 years and have made so many friends. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, plus the menu and they put on many programs and activities for the residents.

I often visit my grandmother and the property is always so well taken care of, the residents are happy and the staff are always nice. It makes me happy knowing she is happy. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Took a tour with director and was so impressed with this community. The director knew everyone by name and shared a personal moment with each person he came in contact with. The residents we met were friendly and community was clean. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I moved to Verena because he had a major heart attack. It was a wake-up call that we needed to look to what our future held for us. We visited several kinds of facilities. We chose Verena because it offered 2 meals a day, house cleaning and grounds keeping, but we were still independent. We were warmly greeted when we moved in: A waitress from the dining room came to our apt. to see what we might want for lunch on moving day. The head of housekeeping offered to sweep off our patio before the heavy chairs were placed there - the apt was already spotless; and at 2 pm she suggested that we might want to go the the dining room for the monthly “Town Hall” where residents are kept up to date on what was going on all around the complex. Since then all the residents have shown us how we all watch after one another. The staff members from housekeeping to the CEO don’t just do their jobs, but they are helpful not just to residents - but also to each other. We are family here!

Recently visited the facility. The staff was very welcoming from the time we walked through the doors. The director was positive and upbeat and made us feel valued while visiting! We were impressed by how clean the facility was and how every one of our questions were answered. We left feeling informed. It was a great experience. What a wonderful facility!

I have lived here at Verena for 4 years and I enjoy my apartment and wonderful neighbors. So many opportunities for activities including; a beautiful pool, bingo, arts and crafts, an excellent gym, exercise programs, bridge and other card games and many more. Also, there is transportation for trips to museums, concerts, symphonies, shopping, and doctor appointments (certain days for shopping and doctors). You will not be bored. The food is good (no one will go hungry); in fact, I have gained weight since living here (which is good they have exercise programs). What more could I want. I'm having fun and enjoy living at Verena.

I paid rent for three months and slept here 11 nights. The meals are very good. The weight staff is respectful. The office staff is very kind and listens to your kinds. I visited 2 other ones and chosen The Garfield location.

We have had an exemplary relationship with the people of this community since living here. We have been here six years and have never been disappointed with the services provided or the supportive approach by the staff.

Lovely place, very nice walking sidewalk around the complex. Swimming and Hot Tub are great. Wonderful club House, weekly actives, aerobic pool classes, non water classes also. Weekly maintenance on the grounds and pool area.
