A Place for Mom has scored Traditions Management with 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 188 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Traditions Management has 855 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.4 out of 5.
My loved one was previously a resident at Park Place Senior Living and overall the experience was poor. They had poor meal preparation and slow service. The activities stopped at 3:00 in the afternoon. Management seemed more interested in increasing care levels for additional revenue and less interested in the actual facility. They said they go with higher managed care to protect their nursing license.

During tours we were sold one thing and given another. Solana has not met our expectations. The dining room has not been available to my mother 24/7. The nurses are not showering my mother as promised. The activities don’t have any meaning behind them. We were told they do meaningful things like trivia and remembering the past and paint and sips with happy hour social 3x a week. I have not received not even one activity calendar from the director. I was told I’d get one every week via email. Very dirty on weekends.

Our parents lived here [date removed]. The frequent and haphazard turnover in management is frustrating. The director of nursing will not communicate, return emails or phone calls, and is generally unpleasant / difficult / disengaged in every meaningful way. The hallways often smell, which indicates to us that there are cleaning problems. Despite requesting and paying for incremental services such as laundry, assistance with personal hygiene, etc .... our loved ones did not receive what we were charged for. We simply could not take it any longer and moved our parents to a better community. However, we will emphatically say that the front desk staff, several floor nurses and some of the mid-management staff are wonderful. But sadly, they do not run the show and we would advise anyone to VERY CAREFULLY consider top management and the director of nursing when choosing a community. It will make all the difference in the world. We would give Traditions at Solana a grade of "D" in 2023.

New Hope Valley did not meet our expectations. They talked a good talk, but the food was disgusting. I even took a picture of it and ask them if they would eat it and they couldn’t believe what my mother was served on a daily basis. Also, the care was not very good. The aids who came in, did not treat my mother well, and they also wrote down things saying that they did a certain thing when in reality they did not. They did not help keep her clean on a regular basis, and if it weren’t for my sister and I my mother would’ve been in worse shape than she really was for the money that we paid for that place the service was terrible. The room was nice. The facility was nice but what really matters is the care that you receive. That is what we had objections to.

They need to improve communication between staff on different shifts, and between staff and family. Cleaning of residents living spaces needs to be improved. Food needs to be massively improved. This is all with regard to Memory Care. I can't say anything about regular Assisted Living.

The Building is aging and looks awful compared to competitors. They raised the price of services by 12%. Complete BULL. They got rid of the one good executive director, [name removed]. The servers look dirty, I don’t want my mom eating in the dining area anymore. The food is not so tasty. We were lied to by previous director, [name removed] on many occasions. The building is FILTHY. No floors are ever mopped and it smells like a nursing home. Nurse [name removed] is amazing and caring. Without her, mom wouldn’t be as well as she is. [name removed] helps our family more than anyone here. Great recreational program with a passionate activity director . Looking at competitors. I’d be embarrassed to work for traditions. Goodbye, [name removed]. I wonder what they did to run you away.

We were told by the executive director in an email that our loved ones would finally receive the new carpet that they deserved, today. We pay more than enough to not be lied to. We’ve been lied to the entire time it is always “oh it’s done or will be next week”. Looking for new residential living. We will miss [name removed] who is so helpful and kind and the activities offered, but corrupt management is not worth it. [name removed] hasn’t returned my email in 5 weeks.

Another family in the community chatted with me and told me I could place my concerns here since my emails and calls aren’t being returned. She had the same issue and was told by a nurse to post a review. Bring [name removed] and [name removed] back! Those were two very classy women who knew how to run a 5 star facility. The Wellness Director and executive director both do not respond to my emails or calls. Giving the dining room a 1 star is generous.. The ONLY two positive staff members are [name removed] and [name removed]. They are the only ones that know what they are doing. They helps us with every question we have. I am giving a 5 star for staffing because of them. The activity director sends an activity calendar out every Friday via email and that’s the only communication we get throughout the whole building. I’m giving activities a 5 star for that alone. But - That’s it? An activity calendar? No COVID updates? [name removed] used to send us an email every week. Now - Nothing. Even after requested. Dissatisfied.

The front desk was asking people to submit reviews. This place is going down, fast. Nobody in the front offices were there at 3:00pm. Not one single office had lights on. My mothers laundry is not getting done. The elevator is always “out of order”, the floors look like they haven’t been mopped in months. Tje dining room doesn’t have a Director and they never have the food that they say they will have. Mother has a frozen chicken patty served to her when it was supposed to be prime rib. The front desk is the only person who knows what she is doing and is helpful. MIL has fun at happy hour and that’s it. Looking at other options.

There is not enough staff at Traditions even though they claim they have a generous amount of staff members. When our loved one needs assistance sometimes it takes an hour or more for someone to come. They have the same activities every week, and on the same exact day. It is very repetitive and at this point no one really participates but they do not change them or offer up a variety.

I would tell others looking into this facility that my dad has had several falls here. He is in the memory care unit so he needs more attention. He has missed meals because they fail to check on him. He has an alert button on his wrist and he has the tendency to take it off and when I visit him I see it is not on. When I ask the staff members where it is no one knows where it is or how it got off. It malfunctioned one time and he was on the floor for hours before anyone checked on him, safety is a concern here for us and would not recommend to others looking.

Traditions is a beautiful facility but I feel is not strong in the health care area. Head of Nursing is an LPN, not a registered nurse and residents are not seen by a Dr., rather a Physcian Assistant. Our loved one's medical lreatment resulted in a serious infection which required hospitaliation, after less than 2 months in the facility. Also had cleanliness issues in aparrtment and with our loved one's hygiene. Seems to be a disconnect between what Marketing promises and what is actually delivered. In my Opinion, I would not recommend.

The care is very poor especially for the cost most likely due to understaff and poor management. Leaving my parent in bed missing breakfast, meds and lunch many days per week. Very disappointing!

This is a brand new community that is not being open till January of 2017. I was still able to take a tour. The staff did tell me all about the place, but I did not really like it. The rooms are small and again not a lot of light for my loved one. The staff did answer all questions, but this is just not the right place.

It is just not very good care. My mom has had multiple falls and has ended up in the Emergency Room. They are understaffed. It has not been a good experience. It has really has affected my daily life. The food is fair. It is hard the staff is not well paid and they do not seem to care about the residents. They have had a lot of staff. To see this happen is heartbreaking.

There is nothing good about that place! I wouldn't take my dog there for boarding! The staff was lacking skills, competency, compassion. The only one there that cared about the residents was nurse [name removed],. There is just too much to say about the horrendous care my mother received there. The biggest was that she didn't get her meds and after being told repeatedly that I was less than 5 minutes away and I would come give them to her......was never called, she didn't get her meds and would have outbursts! I was told by one of the night nurses that it wasn't convenient to crush her meds and sneak them to her. I live with the regret of ever trusting that place with my mom. She was physically healthy when she went in there. She was physically there for 2 weeks and then removed (for the second time). She was taken to Riverside where she stayed for a month because ([name removed]) said she had to be 24 hours without a sitter before she could come back. She was at Riverside for 4 or 5 weeks, she had a stroke and I was able to bring her to my home to pass with hospice care. They can change the name all they want but until they get staff in there that really cares, pay them well, and vet people......it will all stay the same. Since my mother's death, I have talked to several others who have had loved ones there, I am/was not alone.

In 2021, I thought this would be a great facility for both my parents. Everything was great when I first moved them in. Living out of state, I was proactively notified if someone had fallen or there was any health concerns, which gave me great peace of mind. 12 months later, all of the staff, whom I and my Mom and Dad had established relationships left. There were instances when my Dad was taken by ambulance to the ER without notifying me. Management does not return calls. 2024 - Sadly, both of my parents have passed away (my Dad in Jan.) yet I’m still receiving past due invoices for charges I less than $[fee removed], after paying $[fee removed]/mo., no one will return my calls. I could go on with other examples, but unless you are local, can actively monitor the care of your loved one and want to manage monthly billing, I would NOT recommend this facility!

The move in process was horrible. There was no organization or documentation of what we needed. We were constantly told we needed just one more document. They did a phone assessment before she moved in. My MIL was in for 3 weeks and then we were given 24 hours to take her out. No warning. She was able to escape out an emergency door twice. They took no accountability for her escaping. Even though she had an appointment with her neurologist 2 days after, they didn’t give us a chance to get her medication changed. They were extremely understaffed. They did not encourage her to participate in the activities. I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone.
