I never toured this community in person just online. But from what I saw I knew instantly that it wouldn't be a good fit for my dad. There were too many levels that he would have to contend with it looked like a regular apartment building.

This community is understaffed and they are doing the best they can. The housekeeping is a weak link, however they are working on trying to improve this. The food is good and they offer a really good variety of choices. The memory care dining room is not as nice as the assisted living one. They are short on activities. They do have a secure yard so the residents can go outside. I would say for the money this is about as much as you are going to get.

Maybe I was expecting a little more attention to my loved one . I noticed her trash was piling up in her room , bed was not changed, or clothes not washed, toilet was slightly dirty. Was wanting her to be looked after a little more as per showering, medications,etc. I don't go to see her every day as I work , but do go every few days. Very relaxed area , like it says holiday resort , beautiful place , staff is very nice , and very helpful.

This community was very nice. We enjoyed the tour of the place. The staff was very helpful with everything that we needed. We liked the activities plan that they showed us. We just did not want mom so far from us.

After visiting a number of facilities, we selected Summerfield with our parents concurrence. Their accommodating room sizes, facility appearance and cleanliness, food quality, and affordability were among the best that we had seen.

MY tour of the Sunset Lake Village went well. The place was just not a good fit for my mother. The building was kind of old, and there did not seem to be many activities going on. I'm sure they have great care, but it was not what we were looking for at the time.

Spring Haven has a very friendly atmosphere. Staff is very friendly to all. The food is ALWAYS excellent and having a variety to choose from is important. The facility itself could stand some upgrading. It's dated and needs more detail to cleaning. The rooms are equipped with brown carpeting and faux wood; seems a little dreary. Needs to have lighter or brighter colors. The cleaning service needs to pay closer attention to cleaning the bathrooms. Overall, I recommend this place.

They have been very good about getting him to his appointments for radiation therapy. There are a couple of workers there that are very nice that i'm very pleased with. However, I don't know if their staffing is sufficient. There also needs to be better communication. [removed]

My mother is relatively new in Sunset Lake Village, but thus far it has been a positive experience overall. I especially really liked how they made it really easy to get her set up in there. Going through these changes can be tough and they really helped to make it a very smooth transition.

The initial experience was wonderful. However, they then had some staff leave which led to issues with transportation. They promised to take my grandmother to see her sister nearby once a week. In two months she has been once. That said, the overall experience has been a very positive one.

The building itself could use an upgrade, the food is alright and we still have yet to see the roll out of the care provided to her overtime. At this time I would give it a 3 overall so far. The view is lovely right there on the beach. Also, the price was mid-range of budget. With only other place charging less than the one we found.

They definitely have short comings with the full attention my father should be getting. Help with getting him dressed in mornings and change of clothes in evening. Proper amount of showering, keeping up with cleanliness of apartment and checking in on him frequently. These are all things that have fallen short. We have to stay on top of things to be sure he is getting the care he is supposed to have. Meals are good, and staff is pretty friendly, but doesn't always get three meals a day. Any one who puts a loved one in assisted living, should always stay on top of the care that they are supposed to get. The loved one is really the only one who has a voice for the resident. Especially if they have dementia.

My dad said the food isn't very good and they're slacking on the housekeeping. He does like the nurses and the therapist

It is an old building and I think a lot of stuff that comes with being an old building that hasn't been properly maintained. My dad has copd and it was exacerbated when he was staying there and better when he left. they did have a lot of water damage from the hurricane however, so as a business owner I respect the cost of repairs and how natural disasters can affect us all.

Overall a good place. Admin could be more present. Food quality has declined tremendously in past year. Also I hear complaints of very limited activities.

It is adequate care for an affordable price. Our loved one seems content. Food is just standard institutional food. Not very creative or visually appealing but satisfactory none the less. Activities can be more creative as well. More exercises classes would be good.

The residents I've interacted with are very friendly and seem happy. When I interact with the staff they are very friendly. My loved one says they aren't very responsive to her, but that might just be her expectations. Apparently they could really improve on the food. I ate there once with her and I agree. My loved one says it's terrible and apparently other residents feel the same. The hallways, hall bathrooms, and elevators could be cleaned up / refreshed and have a better appearance. Not sure what they can do about this, but there is a resident who must smoke so heavily that his pungent cigarette odor lingers in the hallways and elevator for a very long time. It's not your usual cigarette smoke - it is a high saturation like I've never experienced.

Accommodations are good. Food service is sub par. Assisted Living leaves alot to be desired. I would give the med techs and management a 3 out of 10. Not the med techs fault. Hopefully things can get better. If not i am gone.

Spring Haven staff is very knowledgeable in regards to helping families navigate through the assisted living process. The patients rooms are clean and activities are always being developed to include family members. I do wish the staff that worked on the weekends in the memory care unit were a little bit friendlier.

The Administration is rigid and doesn't stand behind terms in individuality negotiated agreements and attempts to move guests to a higher level of care without pre-determined costs and unilateral assessments.
