Having come from a business environment where the competition is always nipping at your heals and chasing your clients, I whole-heartedly understand that balancing costs with profits and service is necessary for any business' survival today. And I know that, although I'd love for my mother to have "personal, 24 hr attention"; in today's world that is not possible unless $$ is of no concern...but it is (generally for most of us). My point being that a 1 to 1 client to caregiver ratio is financially impossible without big buck prices. Having said that I must say that the folks at Summerfield have never, ever, ever made me feel like $$ was the object of their existence. I am so grateful for the staff's positive outlook and generally optimistic attitude when it comes to dealing with elder care. I know that it cannot be easy to deal with the aging on a daily basis. They have my enduring respect, sincere gratitude and unquestionable support! Thank you Summerfield.

Staff all seem very friendly , the room size is excellent and internet and tv are included which is great. Mom says the food is hot or miss which is to be expected can't please everyone. My only concern is that mom fell out of bed and says it took over 30 min for someone to respond to the call button. Not sure how accurate the timing is as I'm sure it felt like forever

Met with [name removed] at the Grand. I have a prepared list of questions and we discussed those We toured the facility and was shown the apartments. I informed [name removed] I most likely would move with [name removed] and foresee it to be at least 8 months to a year out. Aside from memory loss my wife [name removed] had her bladder removed in 2021. I take care of changing and handle her urostomy needs. [name removed] told me the staff at the Grand does not handle this type medical care. She said if in my absence an accident occurred they would need to have someone come in and address. The tour went well, [name removed] is great and thorough.

The staff was great. Friendly and attentive to my Mom's needs. She didn't care for the food so much. Especially considering each individual's diet needs. Her room was kept clean. I feel the windows should be cleaned more regularly on the outside. Lovely view, but a better tint on the glass would be nice. To keep the heat out. The a/c units seem outdated and it seems they need to work hard to keep up with the demands of that type of place. The size of the place was nice for what she needed it for. She enjoyed the activities. Happy hour, Bingo, music, movies etc..

The staff was great. Older facility that used to be a hotel. Has assisted, skilled nursing and memory care. Thorough tour with all questions/concerns answered. Had the feel of a skilled nursing home. Our family was looking for assisted living that had more of an apartment complex feel and we found that elsewhere.

I received recommendations and your advisor really stuck with me as I went through the process of choosing. I would have recommended

This is an active Senior facility. The model room we toured was spacious and ample for my friend's needs. The lunch we were served was delicious and we had other options if we didn't want the planned menu. The facility common areas were nice, and really the only negative I saw was the floors in the elevators needed a good sweep and mop. The other common areas looked fine.

I think they should have patients interact more

They have lots of activities for the residents and I feel they could do a better job letting the ones with memory issues understand clearly what's going on

I'd highly recommend it to others. It's a great place. Love this place. The views are amazing

The head Nurse [name removed] is fantastic. So caring and kind. When my mother accidentally fell and had to go to the hospital she texted me almost daily. I think it would be great if they had more art, craft activities. Possibly even writing or a reading group. They have puzzles but it would be nice to have a group doing puzzles together.

There was a bit of glitch with the care, particularly at night. The memory care coordinator, [name removed], is phenomenal! She is caring, diligent and patient. She helped both my mom and me get through this change. I can't say enough good things about Kate and how she manages the memory care unit.

First of all , my mother is on the 3rd floor which is memory care. Very different from AL. Most of the staff are very active and hands on. The laundry dept. is great on providing clean laundry but mixes up clothing regularly. I gave up trying to corral my mother’s clothing. She wears whatever. She is kept clean though and that is what is important. One thing – my mother’s wheel chair keeps disappearing and she ends up with another one even though I put her name on the one she came in with. [name removed] them well!

My mom seems to enjoy it. Especially the entertainment they have brought in. I did have a concern one day I went and there was nobody at the front door and other people there as well just walked in.

The staff is kind for the most part. It would be great, however if they greeted you with a smile-especially when you come in. The food/ dinning appears very good. The facilities are always clean. The rooms are big. On a couple of occasions, I have had to get someone to help a resident. So there is an opportunity for more awareness.

I would rate all of them between 4-5. It's a good fit for our family members, they understand their needs and respond accordingly, the cost fits their situation, it is a kind and caring facility

There have been issues with dining being too slow or them forgetting to put in her order. There was an incident with housekeeping, she came in and didn't announce herself as mom didn't hear her knock as the tv was on and she was in the bathroom with the door open. My mom looked up from the toilet and the housekeeper was standing in the doorway just staring at her. Other than that it's been pretty good. There are some wonderful people who work there and most are very friendly!

The staff are very attentive to the residents needs.

Based on the experience, we would recommend The Grande community to other families.

The staff is generally friendly and helpful, my wife likes it here There's a lot of staff that have been a long time employees, that's a good sign. In short, I'm satisfied and most importantly my wife is satisfied.
