I must say the [facility removed] that was recommended by staff for showers and other care turned out to be terrible, leaving us out of pocket [fee removed] which was promised to be returned but never received !

I would say that it was a great experience with Highland Estate, was very nice staff. I would highly recommend Highland Estate to all.

At first, I was very pleased with this facility. However, there has been a change of hands as to who is in charge now. The two people we initially dealt with are gone, and the people who have replaced them are, in my humble opinion, not very good at all. [name removed] is never there and when a message is left for him to call back, it will take a couple days. The front desk staff during the day is quite rude. I think her name is [name removed]. The evening girls are fabulous, however. The activities people are super fun, but it seems as though they are running out of ideas. My mom still enjoys it though. I have been having a problem with the entrance to my mom's wing. The bushes are overgrown, the weeds are piling up, and the landscaping is sporadic. I hired someone today and paid them out of my own money to clean up the area around my mom's patio. this was mentioned to a few times, and he keeps telling me it's going to be taken care of. My mom's rent has gone up, but the quality has gone down. In all honesty, in the next year or so (before her next lease is up) my husband and I have been talking about bringing her to our home.

My Mother fell and broke her hip after one and one half months in Highland. She has been in rehab facility since May 2023. Highland was great until she fell. I can't really rate the place except she was happy there. The value for the money was great compared to the [amount removed] a month we are now paying since June 2023.

All the residents seem to have their ups and downs. Some complain about food, some wander around aimlessly, some are happy as clams. Most are in a better spot than living on their own. All necessary doctors, hospital and clinics are VERY close to the home, most within walking distance. The general area is in the mid-lower income neighborhood but safety in the area doesn't seem to be any issue. I visited a few places within a 60 mile radius and found this one to be the best value for the money. Would recommend

Staff are very friendly and they keep track of the tenants which I as the son is very appreciative Good size apartment style and the amenities are good plenty to do and keep her busy if she wants

The food isn't that good. Glad a kitchen is available in independent living. Price increase each year has been pretty high. Apartments are decent size. The outdoor screened porch is nice for summer time.

The new management company has only been in place for one year. They are trying hard to spruce the place up and hire very caring staff. The activities are ok, they need to do better at involving more residents by keeping them more informed.

Great staff on communication, care for the individual needs. Facility is very nice, could use an update to make it more enjoyable. More activities would be nice, because this month there hasn't been much at all. I also know they are short staffed.

This was a very temporary living situation for my sister not really an appropriate placement for her but they made an exception for us based on her age. I think the community was great! Low rating on care services only because my sister's needs could not be met in this type of facility. Too independent for her.

Comments: my brother was previously at [community name removed[ Evergreen is not as clean and not as well maintained and food is not as good, when comparing to [community name removed] . On the positive side - they were willing to work with my brother, his room is much larger, he is getting involved with activities, and overall my brother is doing better. Good option for our family. Affordable price. Large rooms. Management has gone above and beyond to work with our brother's needs. Facility could use a few updates.

It felt more like a home than the other places. I would recommend to others.

My loved one is a resident at Ashford Court and most everything has been great for her at this facility. I would recommend Ashford Court to others.

These are some of the things our family likes most about the Elliott Place community - The secluded location of the property and a short drive away, all kinds of businesses. The monthly rent The amenities that are available if/when my brother needs them.

The staff has been very gracious and kind. Ashford Court is just now undergoing a change in management and I feel like they are making big strides to serving the seniors in their care. We moved our loved one in 1 day after the management switched. The new team has met with the senior community to let them know of renovations (new flooring and paint) and other updates that will be coming too. I chose Ashford Court because they do provide Memory Care but with additional costs. They are making some good changes. I was not happy with their home health care people, but we just recently switched over to another service that comes in. They just hired a new activities director and I am seeing improvements. I checked out 13 facilities and the apartments. Ashford Court is way bigger and about 1/2 the price of the other places I toured. I still think senior living places are way over priced in an individual's real time of need. It makes my heart sad.

Everyone makes the new comers feel welcome and included. There are many activities to do and be involved in participating is up to the individual. Sutter Estates is independent living; not assisted but the staff are very aware that many residents have various needs and limitations that they help them with and navigate. My mom doesn't drive so having transportation to medical appointments is a blessing. They also will drive them to do their shopping for personal items as well. The residents can decorate their apartments and make it their own.

This community has recently switched over to a new company at the beginning of March 1st, so somethings are a mixed bag. There has been a bit of change with their staff. There is not an activities director but we do know they are actively working on hiring one. They do have bingo which our loved one does enjoy going to. Before the activities director left they would always bring in live entertainment for the residents. They also use to publish activities on the calendar so hopefully they bring that back. One thing that really caught our eye about Ashford Court was the piano in the front room and our loved one really enjoys playing the piano. Some of the staff with the old company has stuck around - the gentlemen who helped us move our loved one is has been great to work with and he thinks the new management will be good. The old front general office manager has stayed as well. The kitchen staff prior to the change were very good about speaking with families and the residents. We aren't there also during meal time so we aren't sure how the newer kitchen staff does, but during the ice storms they did their best and nevertheless they still bring out food that tastes pretty good. When our loved one moved in we had purchased Preferred Senior care home agency that this community works with and that staff team is so approachable and always available. They are fabulous and really made a difference for our family member moving in. Our loved one is a diabetic and they do constant check-ins throughout the day and make sure she gets to meal time. It is expensive but they are worth their weight in gold.

I thought that the staff was nice, but they really did not seem as prepared as they should have been for our respite stay. For example, the sink in the bathroom was not working, and they were unable to address that until the next morning. But I thought that the food program was good, and the home care team did a good job. I wish the population was a little more diverse, but I think that is more a factor of where the facility is located.

We had a great tour experience with [name removed]. The place is phenomenal. They had a really good room selection. For us it just came down to the location and we wanted him to be closer to family that could visit often.
