The Opal Senior Living

It is a smaller facility so one can easily get from one space to another. We have one in Memory Care and the other in Assited Living. They visit often. The facility is updated. The look is fresh. The rooms are spacious compared to others I toured.

Mom likes the smaller size of the facility and the friendliness of staff. More personal care. I would recommend Opal to others in a similar situation.

Most of the staff is friendly and patient. Facility is clean, nursing staff changes meds as needed. Mom seems to enjoy the food. Not a lot of activities.

The workers are really great, but they were frequently understaffed the head of nursing I had to call corporate on twice they have now been taken over by OPAL. It is quaint and small, nice food and nice people. Hard to keep a consistent staff. They have not been able to keep a consistent cleaning person.

The communication needs improvement as it is difficult to get accurate information on our family member. It seems very challenging to get answers to our questions - we can't get a bill, find out easily when certain things are scheduled like showers and when she had the last one, or when laundry is done or whether she ate her meals. Also I would recommend a system of wearable alarms that have fall detection if someone falls and isn't able to press their call button. It would also be helpful if check ins could be scheduled for folks who need some regular assistance with toileting.

We took a tour of the community, facility, & areas. I was impressed by the cleanliness, kindness, & interaction with staff, visitors, & residents. The unit was spacious & relaxing/calm feel.

This is a very nice facility and my mother is very happy here. However, the director is not around the residents or family members, stays in her office. The rug down the main aisle off the recepption area STILL needs replaced, it smells so bad and is disgusting. Why overall rating is a 4.

I toured with Belvedere Commons of Seneca. The lady I met with was very nice, but the only downfall was that they had carpet. It would have been very tough for my grandmother to get around in her wheelchair or even walking.

I am well pleased with the services here.

I would recommend it. I have peace of mind & know the residents are taken care of. It's right down the street from where I live & it is locked so the residents can't wander out.

A great fit for our family. Belvedere Commons is a smaller residence hall, so it was much to my mother-in-law's liking. My father-in- law is in a room in the Memory Care right around the corner from her Assisted Living studio apartment. He spends most days with her in her studio apartment which is quite spacious. The facility is bright and light. There are 2 lovely courtyards with mature bushes and trees on either side of the dining hall which make dining in a pleasant experience. My mother-in-law actually has her studio apartment on the courtyard so she has a nice outside view all the time. I have heard good reviews of the food. I wish Belvedere had about 10 more workers, but I am pretty sure that is a common problem these days. Those who work with my in-laws have been quite kind to us all. The fact that my mother-in-law could have PT in the facility was added plus. She has also been thankful that she could play the piano and lead the residents in singing once a week. The activities director quickly added her to the calendar of events within a week or two of moving in. That has been a bright spot. Although they would prefer to be in their own home, Belvedere Commons is the perfect place for them at this time in their lives. My mother-in-law really needed more help. She is now getting the help she needed.

There is always room for improvement, but so far based on the experience we have had we seem to like it. We would recommend the Belvedere Commons of Franklin community to other families who are looking for a place for their loved ones

My elderly sister had lived in one area of New York her entire life. When it became apparent that she could no longer live on her own, I started looking for an Assisted Living facility near my home in Florida. I went to Belvedere Commons of SCC, without an appointment, and within a couple of minutes, I was greeted by one of the Directors, who offered to meet with me, right then. They told me all about the facility, the services they offered, answered all my questions and took me on a tour of the facility. Thoughout the tour, I was greeted with smiles and warm welcomes from several members of the staff. Knowing that the move was going to be very traumatic for my sister, I wanted a place that was small and felt warm and inviting. From the first day, my sister has been Extremely happy. She constantly says she feels good here, the people, both staff and residents, are very friendly and caring. All of the supporting staff is very professional and makes her feel safe, too.

Executive Director is excellent. Needs effective corporate support. Staff is very good. Housekeeping and maintenance needs additional staffing. Nursing and resident care and food service is very good.

Staff! Great people. The facility administrator is the reason the facility was chosen. Now the Corporate CEO, [name removed], makes over 6 million. GREEDY! Does not pay any staff enough. They work hard.
