Mom likes the smaller size of the facility and the friendliness of staff. More personal care. I would recommend Opal to others in a similar situation.

I think they promise a lot & don't always deliver on that promise. Very friendly sometimes too much/fake. Meals look good, eating times are a bit early (4pm for dinner). What activities they have are nice but I don't consider a movie or a dish of ice cream an activity. I think something more low key but moving your body would be an activity. And value was fine but they just raised the rates. I'm not sure what I expected, but because I'm a nurse I think I anticipated a little more. The communication isn't always great but maybe no place is any different. Mom can't really tell me since she's in memory care. This has been a very difficult & overwhelming few months & transition. Again, not sure what I expected or anticipated but I just have felt a little lost . It is very helpful knowing the girls there are very kind & sweet.

This community was very nice and the staff was very friendly.
The person that took us on tour was great and helpful. This is an older community that did not feel very bright and cheery. I think their decor could use some brighter colors as it did not feel very inviting. I did not think the layout of the community would work for my loved one.

I toured here when I was looking. They have their memory care in a much smaller area, and it felt kind of claustrophobic. They were also a good distance away, had they been a little closer I may have given them a try.

I think it was a bit over priced for what we got. They were able to manage medications, but they were always short of staff. The activities offered were fine. There was always enough parking. The food was excellent.

There were a few of the employees there that I really liked but the rest was a bad experience. I would not recommend to others. Nothing other then cost it was all we could afford unfortunately and really the rating is a 2 1/2.

Independent living people seem to be considered second class to the residents. Outside maintenance not good.

There have been staffing issues from first month. Takes too long for somebody to answer help calls, especially at night. There is no way for family to reach somebody after hours. Transportation has been down for months with no timeframe for it to comeback. There have been no outings, and I've been having to uber my mom to appointments. The food menu needs more variety and they need consistent kitchen help.

Belvedere was affordable, but had some management changes some extremely good others. The management level were challenging at best. Not sure what it's life a year later so hard to give them an unconditional recommendation. A lot of it just depends.

My first visit was great but since then it stinks.. secure doors broken.. patients walking off. Phones don't work. I want my Mom out of this place. I don't know if they need more staff or just need to step up the cleaning.

There is NOT a choice on the food area for finiky eaters. The floors in the building could be kept a bit more cleaner. They are supposed to take TNcare choices after private pay runs out

This is assisted living. I only need meds, assistance with shower and food, so the limited activities don't bother me much. I was hoping for some reason to leave my apartment, but bingo is not it. We have a new director who is great. Meet her and get another opinion.

I'm glad to have found Belvedere Commons, shared room options are a plus when money is an issue. Not sure they engage my mother as much as I would like. She needs to be on a consistent schedule and not be left to herself as much as she will do as she has advanced dementia is very easy to engage and agreeable The smell is horrible in the Memory Care side, they should be prepared and I really do hope it will be replaced soon. [name removed] is quick to help

The cleaning staff is lacking. My loved one's room is not routinely cleaned, they have a lot of staffing issues. I think the main issue is that there is not enough staff that actually care about their job. They keep charging for services they aren't providing and are non responsive when we ask for a refund. At this point we have been charged about 3000 more than we should have been. The food is getting better but there were some VERY skimpy meals. The staff are not responsive when the call button is pushed. My loved one waited two hours for help. They only offer shower assistance twice a week and they have missed the day multiple times. They are going through a company change so it may get better, but at this point I would not suggest and if significant changes don't occur we will be looking for other options.

My family has been here a long time when it was Brookdale, now Opal. This place is just barely getting by - it’s dirty, see staff on phones all the time, ignoring residents, most staff are here for a paycheck, alarms go off a lot and no leadership here. It’s a hot mess!. Beginning Dec 2023 the cleanliness of the building has changed. It smells better and our love one’s room is now extra clean. My family met new house keeper who actually cleans this place. She’s AMAZING, polite, professional, sweet and the best part very patient/kind to our mother and other residents here. You can see she truly cares for these residents and wants a clean living environment for them to live in. She goes out of her way each day to make sure these residents are happy. We visit a lot, see clearly the bond these residents and [name removed] share, mutual love and respect for each other. These residents adore her and vice versa. My family LOVES LOVES LOVES [name removed]. OPAL needs a lot more [name removed].

I would say the few staff members that are there seem to be overworked. The kitchen staff was all let go leaving the office staff to handle all kitchen duties for a few weeks. They finally just hired a person. They run out of essentials and make very basic meals without much variety. Transportation is supposed to be provided, however the bus has been broke down several times. The place is very quiet without a lot of activity going on. Seems like the majority of the residents keep to themselves in their rooms. Rooms are big. The techs all seem friendly when I see them.

The Belvedere Commons of Sun City is currently being renovated so there is a lot going on at the community. However the quality of care services are good and the staff members there are attentive. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend them to other families.

Things they do well at: They are great at working to fit into families budget. The director is very friendly and helpful. Areas for improvement: Everyday staff could be more friendly, they could try to get to know the resident and make interactions fun, pleasant and like family.

It's an old building with old issues that I am certain are expensive. plumbing (toilet flushing) was an issue. A/C units old and didn't cool when room door was closed. Maybe these things were on a list to get replaced as they were putting in new floors and repainting when we moved in in [date removed]. It was nice the helpers came by every room before meals to let them have time to get up front. It was affordable so I understand budget.
