Incredibly caring and conscientious.

The Pavilion of Downtown Venice has cared for my dad for 7 years. The building is a landmark which offers an “old world” feeling. The staff is caring, patient and experienced. They can deal with any and all situations an elderly person can have. They communicate with family members in a timely and professional yet compassionate manner.

Nice place, but the food isn't.

The people here are very friendly. I know my neighbors. Everybody is of the same generation, and we share ideas and ways we've been brought up. I like it here and am very happy. I love my apartment. It's plenty big, bright, and sunny. Everything is very clean. We have a housekeeper who comes once a week for an hour, so she'll do the bathrooms and vacuum. It's very comfortable here. You get help when you need it. All you have to do is call. TV reception is questionable. But my big complaint is the food is just not up to my expectations. They don't have a chef, just a cook. Everything is packaged, brought in by truck. There have been times when the truck has not arrived, and then they have to scrounge to put something on the table. That's happened twice in the time I've been here so far. And that affects the value for me. If the food were good, I would say it's worth it. But the food is very poor. I did look around though and couldn't find anything better for the price.

Our tour experience

Our family had an in person tour since it was referred to us and even though they were pretty expensive they were very will to work with us and accommodate our financial situation which we really appreciated, However the rooms just seemed a little dark and dreary.

our experience at Belvedere

The community is neat and clean and they are able to check on our loved ones every 2 hours and really help with peace of mind. The community is smaller also and our loved ones don't get lost in the shuffle. I would recommend this community to others.

My review of Belvedere Commons of Seneca

Our family had an in person tour, it was during covid which made it pretty limited. We were not able to see the apartments, however we were able to meet with the director and head nurse. Both were very responsive and truthful and honest about what their facility could and could not provide for our loved one.

My review of Brookdale

I would tell others that the staff are very responsive. My father in law really enjoys the meals that are served here. They do have residents who speak Spanish and they are actively looking for employees who speak Spanish as well which is great. We would recommend to others looking and already have.

Brookdale Spring Hill review

Sometimes the communication is not that great it is lacking at times, but the facility itself is very nice. It is expensive but we do think it is a nice enough community and we would recommend it. Some of the staff are absolutely amazing. We love the size of the community it has that more intimate feel to it. Our loved one is difficult when it comes the care services, we wish they would handle our loved one a little better.

Would recommend this community

When we first visited Brookdale Bluewater community we really liked how clean it was, and how spacious it was. There are a bunch of diverse gathering rooms for the residents to go and hang out in which was nice. The rooms are a little more on the smaller size, but are still adequate.

Care for my mom

I think they try, but I don't know that they have all the resources to give good care to the residents. Room sizes and layout of the community are average. They have limited outdoor space. The food is adequate. We stay because the location is perfect for us.

We met with [name removed] and [name removed] and both set us at ease immediately. They really give Belvedere that feel of a family environment. The cost was higher than we feel our budget may allow but we need to be sure we are factoring in medical assistance at other facilities to get a true apples to apples cost. The room was also smaller than what we would like. Other than that we really liked it.

Liked this one, [name removed] gave us a lot of good info on how to look into benefits at VA and Medicaid. Was clean, lots of friendly staff, talked to a couple of the residents and they loved it there. The shared apts were very tight, not sure if that's a solution but Memory Care is expensive. Like that they can attend to all phases of my dad's aging without the need to move again later.

After a nice tour, we determined that this is too small for our needs (very social husband/wife); we found staff to be very caring. The residents seemed content, and the facility looked very clean and welcoming. A good fit for someone wanting a more intimate setting. I especially liked that the building surrounded a landscaping courtyard, which provided a nice view and windows down one side of each hallway. This created a bright environment.
