I've never eaten there and my wife is incapable of complaints. The Value for cost is difficult to evaluate, but yes it is great. The staff always seems to be helpful and engaged.

Review of The Cottages at Chandler Creek - Round Rock, TX

Felt homey. Clean with no odors. Private rooms were nice. Pleasant grounds. Food prepared by chef. Plenty of space for residents to move around and enjoy residence. Private rooms had showers. Backs up to park. School children visit from next door.

Misrepresentation

Things are going good so far with my since moving her in the community. The place is nice and the staff is okay. The only problem that I had is the misrepresentation of what was going to happen when finances changed for my mother, but other then that the care is good and there is good RN's on site to help her. She looks the best she has looked in 10 years so I'm very happy about that. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the misrepresentation other then that it's a nice place

It's a nice place.

We toured here as we were looking for options. It's a nice place. My loved one didn't really like it though, and we don't need memory care. This wasn't the best fit for us.

Very informative, great fit

We moved our loved one here after he was living in another community, and this has been a much better fit. The staff is very informative and they always keep us posted on what is going on. They took care of his medical needs early on and found him a doctor, who also communicates with us a lot. The staff seems to really understand what they are dealing with. They are prompt, and they take care of anything we mention. Everyone is very professional. Great community!

Facilities and staff are great for residents. I would maybe add some counseling for family members who are reluctant to accept that placing their loved one here is the right decision.

27 March 2013. Probably the best energy and total staff interaction of the properties I visited. When the door is answered, you are immediately in the house - no 'front office' waiting room before you are admitted beyond the secured door. The sitting rooms are very well lit, well designed and comfortable. Liked the family-style dining, the staff eat with the residents, and the amount of activity area options. The only down-side for me was the layout of the semi-private rooms. One big room with two beds. I don't think that would be comfortable for my Dad, and I don't understand how to keep him from pulling clothes out of his roommate's closet. Otherwise, really liked this property.

The staff didn't seem that personable

My Mom lived here for a few months. I felt like the general care was good but my biggest problem there was that so many of the residents seemed to need more care than my Mom did so it was difficult for her to find people to actually converse with and relate to. I also had trouble with getting answers from the staff. I would call and leave messages and no one would call me back, I had a hard time finding out things, and the staff just didn’t seem to be willing to communicate. I know it’s probably harder and more time consuming for them but it was very frustrating to me and made it difficult for me to get a good feeling about her staying there. The staff that worked at night was also very limited in their ability to speak English so it was very difficult to speak with them about things or ask them questions.

Pleasant Tour

I had a nice tour of this community. It is a good community with friendly people. The community looked well maintained from what I saw. The staff was polite, and my questions were answered. The experience was a good one, but I did find another community that met our needs better.

Understaffed!

When I toured The Cottages, it was a good experience. The facility was clean and the people were friendly, but they seemed to be very understaffed. I met a resident that used to live there and left because they did not have enough help. It was not the best fit for my loved one.

They are doing good.

They are doing good. They can be a bit inconsistent though. They become short staffed on occasion. The food is good sometimes, and sometimes she doesn't like it as much. We chose them because they were able to cover all of our needs including some more difficult to find care for. We liked the size of the place as well.

Have Good Intentions, But Falls Short

It doesn't have a lot of activities for the residents. Most of the residents sit in wheelchairs in the main space on most days. They cook the same meals most days with no fresh fruits or vegetables. When you call you can bounce around, and it can be difficult to get a hold of anyone.

Friendly staff but not the best quality of care I was expecting

We toured all the places in Frisco and we chose The Cottages at Chapel Creek because we saw the staff interact with the residents who lived here and they were very good with them. We did have an incident where my mom was left in bed all day and the only reason we found out about it was because we had a camera in there and they lied about it. I do think people need to be cautious when moving your loved one in here because there has been a lack of care.

Overall a decent community

I liked the director of this community, her office was in the same area as everything else so she was not separate, which helped with the cleanliness and overall organization. She was also very friendly. They have a beautiful park behind the facility that the residents could look at. The rooms were excellent, but we did have a problem with maintenance. The bathroom would get clogged and they weren't able to fix it. They would clean it immediately but not really solve the problem. Also, the evening staff would sit around looking at their phones and not really try to pay attention to what is going on.

First I would like to say that the facility is always very clean and the patients are very well taken care of. The food is really good and they always have activities to keep the patients entertained! The weekday nurse is always caring and kind. She goes above and beyond for both the residents and their loved ones. The reason I am giving a less than perfect rating is the administrator. She seems very attentive at first and no follow thru. It seemed everything was put off for others to do. Once we moved my grandpa into the facility she was never around and didn't seem to care. The long term care insurance was not billed properly or sent in a timely manner. When he passed away she didn't even visit us or give condolences. My aunt didn't receive her refund for months and the administrator stopped responding to emails or phone calls. The overall experience was good but I believe her multiple oversights made it more difficult for our family overall dealing with the passing of my grandfather.

Clean Community, but Not The One For Us

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. My tour went well overall, but I knew this wasn't the right fit for my mother. The community was clean, and looked nice. The staff was kind, and friendly. One thing I noticed is that there were a few women just sitting in wheelchairs, and staring off in space. Also there was a gentleman wandering the halls, and that was concerning to me. It is a nice community, but not the one for us.

Looking Forward To Improvements

The care is going well for my loved one. He is getting good meals based on his blood sugar level I believe he is eating very good. They have activities available but he is not participating. I noticed there were many staff walking through the place. I was not happy with the care when I found him wet and dirty and when I told them they took care of it right away. The laundry was not done either. There is room for improvement, and I hope it will be better when I visit again.
