The Cottages Senior Living

Everyone here has dementia or some kind of memory loss. It's challenging but this place is very high functioning. The only complaint I have is that I have to bring my husband ear drops and various supplies several times. It would be nice if they had some type of system that tips you for gas. Other than that, This is a great place! I would highly recommend The Cottages at Clear Lake. I have had a great experience.

I would give this place a five stars. My loved one is very happy and loves it here. The food is good. The staff is absolutely wonderful and caring. The give each resident time and show that they care for them.

They are doing a real good job. I looked at a lot of places, and spoke with a lot of people. They made me feel that they actually cared. He is happier there, than he has been even living with family. They asked us all about him and his life, and use those things to help redirect him when needed. They are on the high end but you get what you pay for.

I have no concerns with them at all. We haven't gotten to spend a whole lot of time there, because we have been in and out with medical issues. However they have been absolutely wonderful with us. They have been really caring, they have called in and checked on her, just to see how she is doing, and have been following her progress. They have been great.

My mother in law is not an easy memory care resident. She has been known to refuse to eat and drink, landing herself in the hospital. Most of the time, she is very suspicious of her caregivers and won't trust them to do things for her. But these problems seem to have disappeared at the Cottages at Chandler Creek. After just a day or two there, the staff identified her "particulars" and made sure her food was just how she wanted it; she continues to eat well after over a month there. She also is engaging in activities and lets the staff help her with her grooming...again, this is something that was not happening at her last facility. The staff lets us know everything going on with her, and the on-site services with the physicians and therapists have been amazing. We couldn't be more happy with her care.

They do an awesome job here! We were in crisis mode when we first contacted them, and they were right on top of things and got right on top of the situation. They had the hospice service they work with helping us within 24 hours, and once my loved one was moved in the care they provided was fantastic. The staff were all very caring and helpful, and checked in on him all the time. They specialize in memory care and alzheimer's care, and you can really tell they know their stuff.

We have had several family members reside at the Cottages and were very pleased each and every time. In 2006 we placed my father-in law in the Cottages care and instantly felt like one of the family. The access and communication is great. [removed] seemed relieved to be there and enjoyed his time. The activities were great and there are many events that include family as well. last year we placed my sister's father-in-law there and he is doing fine. The staff is well equipped and the turnover seems low. I would recommend them highly anytime.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. This was a very nice looking community, and the staff all seemed very friendly and professional during our tour. We were a little put off by the setup for their memory care unit, it was all shared rooms, with no private bathrooms. However, now that we've had a bit of experience with memory care I can see that this set up might have benefits for memory care patients.

They're doing a really excellent job here. The staff are all outstanding and well trained, and even the custodial and maintenance staff are friendly and greet the residents by name. They really go out of their way here to make sure everyone feels comfortable and welcome.

We're so happy with the care they provide here! It's a beautiful facility, everything is clean, it's very spacious, and its just comfortable feeling in general. The decor is very nice as well, they've got marble counter tops, and lots of solid high quality furniture. It really feels like home. And the staff are just great. They are so patient and loving with all of the residents, and they really went out of their way to help my loved one get settled in and adjust to this new setting.

The people who run the facility are very friendly and caring. The facility, itself, is bright and cheery and well kept up. I'm very satisfied with this choice for our family member.

It's nice and clean and bright, she's in the new building so of course it is very clean and everything's ncie there. The older building was nice though too, what we saw of it, they have had trouble with people getting out, it's a locked facility, but you have to constantly ring the doorbell and wait for somebody to answer it or wait to be let out. For my step daughter, sometimes she says it's frustrating trying to find somebody to let you out. Every place that I've ever been it's a little easier to get in and out than that one, but they are in total lockdown. You can't fault them for that because it is keeping someone in and you can't fault them for that. They decided to use the doctors at the cottages and they called a psychiatrist in, the doctors come and go. She has some aggression issues and when they try to stop her we think she amy have turned around and gotten mad. When my step kids call me and ask them what the scenario was they're not getting a clear picture of the whole scenario. They may be trying to be nice but they need to be a little bit more specific about what's going on.

Loved it. Homey, all about loving the resident. Life in place, no move-outs. Openings immediately.

The Cottages is a caring facility and it shows. Meals are nutritious and activities are stimulating. My husband is content here.

Our mother had previously been at two different assisted living facilities -- one was independent living and the second provided more personal care support. While at the second facility, she had a fall and although we were unaware, a brain bleed had occurred. The facility was very non-responsive and hostile to my mom because her dementia quickly declined over a 3 month period of time. The lead nurse was hostile and negligent with mom's care, so we moved her to The Cottages since he dementia progressed to a single three word response for all questions. The staff at The Cottages loved and cared for my mom as if it was their relative. Over time the brain bleed healed and her functionality increased and memory returned to the previous level. Without their care and passion about improving mom's quality of life and health, she wouldn't have improved. They literally saved my mom's life. Our family can't say enough positive things about the level of care and concern The Cottage's staff provided my mom. Highly recommend.

I liked this community alot for the care for my mom. It was very clean. They offered great activities to help her if wanting to participate. The food was very appealing and the atmosphere was like family cooking. I was happy with the tour here.

My dad just moved into this community and he's done really well. The staff have worked extra hard to make him feel comfortable and to make sure he's involved in activities. He enjoys their beautiful gated courtyard and we enjoy the peace of mind that he's in a locked and secure community. Before dad moved here we were worried about him getting out of the house. Oftentimes one of the neighbors would call us and let us know that dad was wandering in the neighborhood. We were really afraid that he'd get hurt or worse. I can't thank the staff at the Cottages enough for making this transition easy for dad and for helping us find the best place for him next to home.

The staff at this community was excellent. They offer a separate area for Alzheimer and Dementia care. The rooms remind me of a hotel room.

They have been wonderful. They are very attentive and kind. Mary Jane is just fabulous. The people who work here, they go around and touch and engage with the residents, and acknowledging they are not only there, but that they are human. We chose them because of the view out the windows in the rooms. We are very happy with the staff the care, and the hospice they recommended.
