The Cottages Senior Living

It's nice and clean and bright, she's in the new building so of course it is very clean and everything's ncie there. The older building was nice though too, what we saw of it, they have had trouble with people getting out, it's a locked facility, but you have to constantly ring the doorbell and wait for somebody to answer it or wait to be let out. For my step daughter, sometimes she says it's frustrating trying to find somebody to let you out. Every place that I've ever been it's a little easier to get in and out than that one, but they are in total lockdown. You can't fault them for that because it is keeping someone in and you can't fault them for that. They decided to use the doctors at the cottages and they called a psychiatrist in, the doctors come and go. She has some aggression issues and when they try to stop her we think she amy have turned around and gotten mad. When my step kids call me and ask them what the scenario was they're not getting a clear picture of the whole scenario. They may be trying to be nice but they need to be a little bit more specific about what's going on.

Loved it. Homey, all about loving the resident. Life in place, no move-outs. Openings immediately.

The Cottages is a caring facility and it shows. Meals are nutritious and activities are stimulating. My husband is content here.

Our mother had previously been at two different assisted living facilities -- one was independent living and the second provided more personal care support. While at the second facility, she had a fall and although we were unaware, a brain bleed had occurred. The facility was very non-responsive and hostile to my mom because her dementia quickly declined over a 3 month period of time. The lead nurse was hostile and negligent with mom's care, so we moved her to The Cottages since he dementia progressed to a single three word response for all questions. The staff at The Cottages loved and cared for my mom as if it was their relative. Over time the brain bleed healed and her functionality increased and memory returned to the previous level. Without their care and passion about improving mom's quality of life and health, she wouldn't have improved. They literally saved my mom's life. Our family can't say enough positive things about the level of care and concern The Cottage's staff provided my mom. Highly recommend.

I liked this community alot for the care for my mom. It was very clean. They offered great activities to help her if wanting to participate. The food was very appealing and the atmosphere was like family cooking. I was happy with the tour here.

My dad just moved into this community and he's done really well. The staff have worked extra hard to make him feel comfortable and to make sure he's involved in activities. He enjoys their beautiful gated courtyard and we enjoy the peace of mind that he's in a locked and secure community. Before dad moved here we were worried about him getting out of the house. Oftentimes one of the neighbors would call us and let us know that dad was wandering in the neighborhood. We were really afraid that he'd get hurt or worse. I can't thank the staff at the Cottages enough for making this transition easy for dad and for helping us find the best place for him next to home.

The staff at this community was excellent. They offer a separate area for Alzheimer and Dementia care. The rooms remind me of a hotel room.

They have been wonderful. They are very attentive and kind. Mary Jane is just fabulous. The people who work here, they go around and touch and engage with the residents, and acknowledging they are not only there, but that they are human. We chose them because of the view out the windows in the rooms. We are very happy with the staff the care, and the hospice they recommended.

I am very pleased to have my mother at the Cottages at Chandler Creek. The caregivers are very warm and personable, providing a caring environment for the residents. I am really impressed by the many social and interactive activities that are scheduled so that the residents are engaged and not just idly sitting around. I would highly recommend this facility .

I have visited The Cottages multiple times since Mom was placed last year. The facility is clean and well-maintained. They have addressed issues such as men entering Mom's room by having the men moved to the other side of the facility instead in close proximity to female-occupied rooms as it was previously. The Activity Director, [name removed], is very actively engaged in keeping all the residents happy, learning, and socializing. I call The Cottages everyday and sometimes twice daily to speak with my mom, and [name removed] in administration, is ALWAYS cheerful to receive my calls and take the phone to my mom. The nurse is great about administering Mom's meds on a consistent schedule and is so kind in the process. The only criticism I have is that Mom has fallen several times with the two falls resulting in hospital stays--one for a head injury requiring stitches and one for a broken hip. There is no call button in Mom's room for when she needs assistance going to the bathroom or a pull cord in the bathroom if she needs help. The issue was addressed by keeping her door open, but the distance is so far from the main area where nurses and admin are often found, that it would be physically impossible for mom to yell that loud for help or for staff to hear Mom.

It seems fine. Very clean. No urine oder at all. The rooms a nice. The common rooms are nicely appointed. The food is not a highlight but when you are cooking for that many old people I guess you can’t get too interesting. It’s appropriate food.

I love the employees. Most of them seem to love their job. They're very affectionate towards the residents. I see it all the time, even when nobody knows I'm looking. They hug them, kiss them, tell them they love them, it's just the best thing to me. My mom thinks everyone there is so friendly and nice, she says it often. I would like it if they had more activities. But they do have a lot of guest music people that come in. They do spend quite a bit of time sitting in rows watching TV or watching music videos and doing sing-alongs, which I think they could be doing something better.

I live in California. [name removed] is so great and she's always there to talk to me about whatever I need. The facility is very clean. The staff is the nicest and caring professionals, they do a great job. I know that my sister is well taken care of there. I do wish the price included the meds, she cannot afford $[fee removed] meds.

[name removed] passed away on [date removed]. The Cottages at Chapel Creek is a wonderful place. Highly recommend it! It was a great experience.

I've been POA for my mother for the last year and it's overwhelming. Wish I knew then what I know know, from rehabs to ER's, ICU's lawyers, Asst living and so much more. It's very hard to find a good place as there are mostly not so good facilities. And just because you find one does not mean your loved one will be accepted due to physical conditions. The cottages accepted my mother when others that were much more expensive would not. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt because I can't begin to say enough good things about [name removed], she loves what she does and treats all residents like family and beyond, way beyond. She knew every resident by name and is a very loving person, same as most the staff. She's old school and transparent same as her assistant [name removed] and we really liked that. The only disappointment is the food which is so so but other than that we were blessed to find her. She is very transparent and goes the extra mile, Kudos [name removed] and the staff, well done!

They need more activities, that's all for now. There is a lot of just sitting in wheelchair doing absolutely nothing! The care the community provided my loved one was good. The staff communication with the family was good as well.

Our family had an in person tour and everybody we met was very nice but was concerning is that there are no bathrooms in the residents room, they have like a community bathroom and we just did not want that.

It is small, privately homed comfortable facility. It is a very structured place which has been nice so she is not in her room all day, they always keep them busy doing things. They have family styled dining where everyone sits at a long table. They have 2 community dogs that are in each of the buildings, they have 2 separate buildings based on level of care. They give the residents options for food and drinks and they are attentive in making sure they stay hydrated. Any time I have called I get an answer and if I don't get anyone on the phone they return my calls quickly. They also take pictures of my mom and send them to us to show what she is up to. We have been very pleased with them.

They keep the residence engaged, the staff is very friendly and caring. I would recommend this community to others. I feel the cottages treat the residence the same whether the family is there or not.

The Cottages at Quail Creek is a very community driven facility with a caring and compassionate staff.
