Remember this is independent living not an assisted living facility 1 and 2 bedroom apartments Every Wednesday morning is coffee and donuts. The first of the month (or close to it) is the birthday party for everyone born in that month

The staff is fabulous! They provide transportation. The apartments are large & beautifully done. We picked this community because of the price and location.I would absolutely recommend! If my mom didn't have Alzheimer's she would still be there.

The staff at The James Ferndale are phenomenal. They really seem to care about the residents. The move-in process was very easy. I was able to get a full-size bed and a dresser into their elevators. They also have carts available to help you get things from your car to the elevator. The food there is phenomenal. The cook is wonderful. The building itself is very clean. It does not smell the way some senior citizens communities would smell. I cannot give any information regarding the new Executive Director or the Activities Director since the management company has changed. I would highly recommend The James Ferndale. The management company has changed, so I cannot provide insight in terms of changes, or anything else that may occur as a result of this change.

I would definitely recommend the complex. It's more like a family than anything else. The staff is wonderful, so helpful and pleasant. My mom had barely moved in and they already take care of her like they are her mother. But this isn't actually a facility per se, it's an apartment building so they don't really do housekeeping or food. They have an Activities Director that offers activities for the residents. Any time my mom has an issue with maintenance, they're there almost immediately. She is very happy that the maintenance people are on site. At her last apartment building, she had to wait a couple of days to have someone address her concerns.

I have a dear friend that I visit frequently at Swanhaven. The inside always smells clean and everything always looks very clean. The office and maintenance staff are always friendly and helpful. Whatever is cooking in the kitchen always smells delicious as well. My favorite part of visiting is the people that live there, there are always people visiting in the common areas when you walk in or in the dining room. I will be joining my friend at Swanhaven when I'm ready to move.

Busy, entertained, and fun people. Love staff. Love seeing everyone interact with one another. On wed we get free coffee and donuts which we all love. The crafts are always fun and the activity directed always thinks outside the box.

My sister loves it. She loves everything about Oakhaven Manor. We like that it's reasonably priced. I would recommend it to anyone.

Swanhaven exceeded all expectations. The staff's dedication to the resident's happiness was evident in every interaction we saw. My brother loves Grandhaven Manor and that has been the best! What our families likes the most about the community is the different activities they have for the residents, the meals that are prepared and meeting new people. That has been fantastic. We would recommend this community to other families.

Everything she needed in one place. Everyone is very friendly! Trips are planned. Parties, movie nights. Bus trips to different places to shop. Mondays are bank day. Everyone gets to go to their bank. Tuesday is grocery shopping day & lunch. Most days are going somewhere if you don't drive.

I think it's a warm contemporary living space with fun apartments located, and a great part of Ferndale. I think it's a great fit for someone who's open minded about living an active life.I can tell you that my dad's not necessarily an active guy but I can see that there's lots of people that are there that wanna be.

If we could give the friendliness of the staff members more we would! When it comes to the meals - they do a daily diner run for those who want it. There are always different activities going on for the residents. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Westhaven Manor to other families.

The nurses with ability plus have been very caring. It's been a good experience but they may need more care than possible. My father in law is currently in Wellbridge but we'll know more in a couple of weeks what the next step will be

The move to Swanhaven was the best thing I did for myself. The staff are friendly, the residents welcoming, the activities many. I've made many new friends and definitely recommend living here!

I'm currently a resident at Elmhaven Manor. I like it here so far and my apartment is very nice. This facility is a retirement community. They do have housekeeping. What they do not have, if you need it, is constant care. They do have a way of checking on people who may be fall risks. There are help/call pull cords in almost every room. They have multiple activities so you can participate in what you want. The meals are once a day are good and they will deliver to your room. The cost is $13.50. You buy tickets to use for each meal and don't have to eat. Use them when you want. They do control amounts that you receive. The meals are a little high on starch and sugar content. This is a very good facility I would recommend it as long as you are mobile and fairly independent. Most of the residents are over 65 and some have been here as long as 15 years. This facility is not cheap, but in pace with other facilities in this area.

I'm currently a resident at Elmhaven Manor. The cleanliness at this facility is great. The staff are wonderful. I have not attended any activities because I feel that a lot of the residents at this facility aren't friendly. Also, the resident community is not culturally diverse at this facility.

Our family had an in person tour with Oakhaven Manor and we felt the staff members did a great job with the overall tour experience and made our decision for our loved one a difficult one

Everything has been a great experience so far except for the overall value for cost - the rent here is just to high. However the residents here and staff members are all very friendly and kind and I would recommend the Grandhaven Manor to other families looking for a place for their loved ones
