[name removed] is outstanding and made our move-in process a breeze! The facility is contemporary, extremely clean and cheerful! Great location next to the St. James Catholic Church, right in the heart of Ferndale! All staff met so far have been great! Hats off to Executive Director, [name removed] is great too!

When a new person arrives the Staff/ Community, activities director is [name removed], she is lovely, creative & smiles beautifully! Check out [name removed] hair Salon, peek in, introduce yourself and [name removed] will do as you ask! know my neighbors and I'm thankful for each one, [name removed] & [name removed] & [name removed] ( is deaf but) he loves hugs, who is a true gentleman! He helps our ladies into their sweaters! Best of Wishes to our new Resident! This is a beautiful residential facility, you walk into the lobby & you'll find it especial, the acoustics are wonderful with the clear glass windows letting in a brightness that is splendid! [name removed] leads a Bingo night! [name removed] is especial & funny! There are Laundry Rooms on every floor. There are elevators to all 3 floors! Residents families are Welcome! Home, Sweet Home! It has been for me! [name removed] is our Janitor, he makes our floors shine! He works hard, we appreciate his work & his integrity!

I didn't know what to expect when I walked into The James. I've known the area for years and knew it only as a school. I knew that it was time to downsize from my empty nest. Upon entering I met [name removed] and one-by-one all of my worries calmed, my questions were answered, my concerns melted away. She continues to treat me with every bit of the same kindness and warmth that I experienced that first moment. Since that day, I've known I have a presence at The James looking out for me. Who I can come to. Who will always help me feel safe and welcome.

I personally do not have any issues with The James. I have been a resident for 4 years and have never had any complaints. I enjoy the residence and work to know them all by name so we can feel like a family.

WestHaven is a little gem hidden away in Westland. I found it by accident and fell in love with it right away. I have a two bedroom apartment and it is perfect. There are plenty of activities for the residents and I volunteer once a week at the concession store.

Grand Haven seems to get slack from so many people, but moving my mother there in the senior community was THE best decision we could have made. Mom loves Bingo and says there are so many different things to offer! The staff has always been friendly and helpful and any time she has needed to have something fixed or looked at, maintenance is quick to resolve the problem. Fortunately, there hasn't been a lot she has needed to call them for. The apartments are wonderful and perfectly sized for exactly what she would need. We have been very pleased with our decision and feel so relieved to see her enjoying her new friends and new community! We are very blessed!

One elevator is always not working. The people are friendly. The staff is nice and it's very clean.

Everyone was super helpful, caring and very friendly. My apartment was very comfortable, I especially loved having a door that went to the outside. Easy access to my car, friends and family just walked in from the outside. The activities were so nice. If I didn't have my home I would have lived at Port Haven. I never ate there I preferred to cook my meals, much more economical.

Grandma has gotten her independence back and her own space. She is cooking, cleaning, hosting guests for dinner and going to events that Swanhaven has like bingo, music, cards, etc. at [age removed] that is impressive because for two years she was living with family and not wanting to do anything. Grandma has not decorated for a holiday in a very long time and she put up a tree and had door decorations for Christmas. She also wanted Easter decorations to set out so we helped her get those. The people around her encourage her to want to do these things because they are all doing them and having fun. Now does she still talk about her house she lived in for years - of course and does she wish she could go "home" yes but that's not an option so this is a safe and healthy environment where there are people who genuinely check in on her and she can live independently but 5 minutes from my mom (not 3 hours which is where her home is). Morning safety check is nice. Home health services are available. Apartment size is adequate. A variety of activities is offered.

The staff are GREAT! You need something done it gets done rather quickly. We have trips as a group and they are fun as well. You have questions the staff are there to answer them. I couldn't ask for a better place

Friendly, helpful staff. They were easy to work with for leasing. I highly recommend Gradhaven Manor.

The food was just average. The facility itself was very accommodating. Great location. Activities could use some better ideas. All in all it was a good resource for seniors.

I love it here. Everyone is so nice and always helpful. Lots of things to do here and I enjoy it all. Everyone is so friendly.

We were a little nervous about placing our mom in an independent living facility like Elmhaven 2 years ago. Since then, her experience at Elmhaven has been exceptional. She has made friends and been able to participate in a whole host of activities that have kept her engaged and active. We also cannot say enough about the exceptional front office staff. Because we live in florida, the distance was a major concern for us. If we have ever had questions or concerns about your residency, we have been able to contact the front office and they have been the professional, polite and immediately responsive. Their communication is absolutely first rate, and they seem to truly care about the residents. The facilities itself are clean, safe and extremely well maintained. Overall, we couldn't be happier with Elmhaven and the entire staff.

I like the area. Everyone was nice and friendly. I would recommend to others.
