There are certain things I can't comment on because my dad never actually moved into the facility. We had signed a lease, but unfortunately, he passed away before he was able to move in. I'll share what I can based on my experience. My primary experience was with the leasing agent, and she was very helpful and friendly. The other staff members I met, although there were only a few, also seemed very friendly and professional. I was impressed by how clean and new the facility was. The other facilities I looked at were either rather old, not in very good condition, or simply not as clean. I also liked that they offered actual meals for purchase, although I didn't have an opportunity to sample the food myself. They also seemed to have quite a few activities. Based on the calendar I glanced at, there appeared to be a good variety, but since my dad never moved in, I can't really comment on the activities beyond what I saw on the schedule. I thought the room was a bit on the small side, but it was more or less comparable to the rooms I saw at the other facilities I toured. The price at The James was higher than some of the other places I looked at, but I would say it seemed well worth it given how excellent the facility appeared to be overall. While I can't speak to what it would have been like to actually live there, based on everything I experienced during the leasing process and my visits, The James made a very positive impression on me.

Staff is great! Clean Loves the group activities Rooms are great size! She hasn't tried the food options. My mom is thriving!

Just toured The James and my first impression was the jeans was very clean and everyone I interacted was very kind and informative.

I just visited my aunt who just moved at and this is the most beautiful community I have ever seen. The staff was very friendly and helpful to direct me to wear my Aunt. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a senior.

5 on all. [name removed] is dealing with cancer. It is not curable. It is the safest place for her. Thank you again for all of your help. Yes we would recommend Grandhaven Manor to other families.

I recently just visit my aunt at the James. I loved my Aunt unit and how updated the appliances were. Everybody was so friendly when I walked in the building staff and residence. My aunt really loves living at James because she has made friends and has some activities for her socialization. I 100% recommend the James to any buddy 55 and older looking for a great community.

They’re just recently visited my aunt who lives at the James. This was the first time that I had visited her since you moved and I was impressed and how modern apartment was. When I become the right age, I would definitely think about moving in here.

I just recently visited James. My first my first impression was it is a queen and friendly environment. The minute I walked in everyone read me with a smile the staff was very knowledgeable on this community and it could be a good possibility. I will be moving my family here.

I visited a resident and toured the entire facility. The residents were engaged in activities, appearing very happy and the people I asked stated that they loved living at the James in Ferndale. It was very immaculate, clean, and welcoming. Great Lakes Wellness is the care team and was doing free blood pressure checks and they have an open office where residents can drop in anytime. The manager was very friendly and answered all my questions. I can definitely live there myself.

I recently visited the James in Ferndale. My first impression was this Senior community was beautiful from the moment she walked in the doors. Staff was very friendly and very helpful on answering all of my questions and concerns. My tour was fabulous with [name removed]. She was so excited and was a pleasure to interact with. I will be placing my family member in the next couple of months when we are ready to move. I recommend this place just from what I first encountered.

I recently came and visit my friend who is living here at the James. The stuff was so great on directing me to the apartment of my friends and told me which way I needed to go. I was able to join in and trivia. The staff made it so much fun for the residence where everybody’s laughing and having a good time, I really recommend the jeans because the staff seems to be there for the residence and not here for a paycheck.

The staff of the James is wonderful. They allowed me to throw a little birthday party in the game room for my grandmother who turned 90 it was great to have our own little space and be able to celebrate her 90th birthday with friends and family. the staff made sure that the room was reserved and all we had to do was clean up after herself. I have no complaints on this wonderful property.

I recently visited the [name removed] to see my grandma. My first thought of the jeans was clean and beautiful. I asked my grandma how she likes the jeans and she replied, loves it because the staff was friendly. The residence are also friendly and I feel safe all by myself here. I would recommend this to anyone that has an older family member.

This was the first time visiting my aunts. I thought the jeans was a beautiful communities for my aunt. I love how the staff treats me and how each unit is unique. My aunt just moved to end and she’s already loved the people that she met here because they got so friendly.

My dad loves the safety of having 3 floors to walk using his walker. He gets lots of exercise. My mom enjoys several of the activity groups she has joined. They are actively trying to get friends to move in there as well. They love it there. Rent is very affordable.

The staff is helpful and friendly. They have lots of activities for socializing and the facility is very clean.

Great place for your loved ones. Feels like home. You know your family member is loved and cared for.
