I'm very happy here. I like the location. They keep the grounds up well. They do maintenance in the apartments, change out the filters, etc. And if you have a problem, they take care of it. They're just starting to get back into activities after Covid. They're very conscious about Covid here. The only problem I've had is I do not have my rent automatically taken out of my bank account, and when I slipped a cashier's check under the door, they didn't see it and said I had not paid the rent. So I had to take care of that with my bank. And I also had a carport that I rented, which I found out later I could not use. And they were still adding it to my rent. But overall they were reasonable in handling resolutions.

It's a good place. They seem to offer a lot of activities. And they have a lot on-site for the residents. They have their own library, movie theater, and salon. And the apartments are nice.

I have only been here for a couple months, so still getting adjusted but the staff members I come into contact with are friendly and they do have a lot of activities from what I can see.

The facility was very nice and staff were accommodating, but it had multi-levels which was not going to workout for my loved one.

The staff are very friendly and our loved one doesn't always take advantage of the activities but they have a lot to offer, plenty of opportunities to get involved. It is a little bit over prices but all in all it is one of the cheapest and we would recommend the community to others.

The apartments are very nice and the maintenance dept is wonderful. Communication is hard due to staff levels and we have trouble getting ahold of anybody. The food is not good, but the community is very neat and clean and I would recommend this community to others.

We chose Porthaven manor because of the price of the rent per month as well as the good location. I also love the apartments here, they are perfect size and very beautiful. The food is not very good, senior housing brings in the food but it is not something you would want everyday and it arrives cold. Overall I would absolutely recommend to others.

Overall, it hasn't been bad. My loved one has been very comfortable here, in her apartment as well as with the other residents. I've had no cause for alarm. The value is pretty good. The rooms are great. The maintenance people are great. My loved one doesn't have to wait if something's broken. They routinely check on things proactively. The food has gotten so much better recently when they hired a new company. It was like night and day. There's been new management at Elmhaven as well. The office staff keeps the door locked, and they won't talk to you face to face. That kind of ticks me off, because if I have a problem, I want to speak to someone directly and not have to leave a message. A lot of that could be due to Covid though. And before Covid, my loved one liked it here because it was just so alive. There was lots of social interaction and engagement going on between the residents. So again, any changes are due to Covid. We like that there's been a clinic here to give vaccinations to the residents. And I believe they've done a great job of protecting their residents during this time.

Toured online without tour guide was able to get all information on rates and floor plans as well as amenities. Had problem viewing laundry facility but otherwise well pleased

Long waitlist; impressed with property, they only serve dinner and it's extra to include daily or you can purchase a la carte.

Took a tour Friday, [date removed]. BOTTOM LINE = UNDECIDED PROS: Location ideal!Beautiful landscaping. Common rooms tastefully decorated. One bedroom had very large barrier-free bathroom. Also snack bar. Two bedroom had very large storage area. Central air. Sale on one bedroom at 999. CONS: Small kitchen with electric range. two bedroom is priced way too high at 1550.

My parents are comfortable there. It has a very cozy atmosphere. Residents are very nice and extremely helpful. Lots of things activities too. The only negative aspect is the food. Parents would eat downstairs if it were. Residents have stated that it could be improved. Parents have a great kitchen so this (at this time) aspect is a moot point.

Very bright unit, friendly staff and residents. Wish units had washer and dryers ( laundry available). Liked the ability to purchase dinner either by the month or punch card. Seemed to be an active and engaging location!

Really nice place and very affordable. We didn’t choose this place only because of level of care mom needed. Not the best for limited mobility.

I liked it. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Residents friendly, seemed happy. Clean.

My sister did the tour of this community and she said that the staff did a great job, they showed her all around they took their time with the tour and answered all her questions. This was a very nice community but we felt that it was not quite the right atmosphere for our mom.

My mom seems to be doing okay and better than the other place she was at. She is a lot closer to us and within a few miles from stores and family and it is easy for her to drive to. The community is nice and everything they charge for is a la carte. They have games and cards for the residents. They go on a lot of trips, they recently went to Turkeyville. They clean her apartment and wash her laundry once a week. It has been working out better for her becoming a resident here.

Luckily my sister really likes this place even though she thinks it temporary and she will be going home. The staff and residents are extremely friendly and kind. She loves her apartment the only thing is they don't have the laundry setup in the apartment it's in a room down the hall. They only serve dinner but the food is very good. She is starting to do some activities that she can handle.

I am extremely glad we moved mom to this location. It has been so good for her. She is enjoying interacting with the residents there and joining the activities. She loves the food it's great. The staff has been so kind and friendly.
