Our family had an in person tour and this community looked very clean and well kept

Our family had an in person tour and the Mariposa community is clean and nice, but on the memory care side they just gather the residents together in one area and didn't integrate them with the other residents like another community we were looking at.

very nice facility; next to hospital - busy area. multi level; all the bells and whistles - pretty big and while nice, my mother might feel this is not for her. courtyards are very nice as are the activities. Very well run, organized-

It was clean, and well set up. The only downfall was the distance to our house.

The community is very nice and the care staff is very caring, lovely, and does a great job. the community is neat and clean. Communication has not been good. We are not getting updates or any covid info. The lack of communication is very frustrating. Basic appointments and communication are way too hard. There is a lack of ownership by the management and inconsistent. I would recommend this community if the management was more consistent and communication improved.

I would want others to know that part of the reason for my ratings was that they have been quite understaffed since the pandemic. They do not have time to spend with residents anymore so if she needs any type of help it takes forever to wait. The main issue that I have is the food that they serve, they give lots of sandwiches for meals. The food they serve is pretty much just industrial, the quality is not good and it is not freshly made. They are not well balanced and portions are small. I have been taking her meals since she will not eat it. Since covid she has not been able to come out of her room at all so she is not getting any exercise recently whatsoever. As far as the nursing care, they are good and they check on her and make sure she is doing well. They have also been good about communicating with me if there are any issues.

Overall, it was a great facility and they took great care of my mother in law. they had a lot of activities to offer for their residents. The room sizes here are larger. We did have issues with one staff members which can make or break a facility. I would recommend.

The initial individuals that we first met at The Preserve were very helpful, In our experience our loved ones room was nice and pretty spacious, We would recommend this community to a family or friend

Is a little more on the expensive side, due to COVID there have been no activities in the last six months, but before they had arts and crafts, bingo, themed holiday parties. They would go out to restaurants and casinos. The food at this community can use a lot of improvements. Most of the food is very salty, a lot of carbohydrates and desserts. The room our loved one is in is nice, it was totally re-done before move in. Its a studio type apartment. the location is great its very close to home which we really liked.

It’s a very beautiful community. The rooms are fairly spacious and I feel like the aides are very nice and responsive. The nursing is only fair as the director of nursing can be a little harsh and inflexible. Other than that the rest of the staff have been a pleasure to deal with.

I feel they over promised what they could provide in physical care. The food was good. The room sizes were good. There was a disconnect between the nursing staff and the director of nursing in terms of patient condition.

Bathrooms to close to living space

My 1st impression was good however when we returned with my mother and had lunch it was a real disappointment. The fod was horrible (who can screw up a grilled cheese?)and the service was poor. The corridors smelled like cigarette smoke.The apartments weren't too bad but not good enough for my mom. Considering the cost I have seen nicer. The greeting staff and others were very nice. I feel the residents were much older than what we are looking for.

The facility is relatively new and kept very, very clean. The Staff is friendly, (everyone says hello), seem to genuinely care, (not everyone is warm and fuzzy but) and they check in on their clients regularly. unfortunately considering that rooms start at over 4000 a month The food is basically terrible, when they mention locally sourced food, which would intimate, fresh local vegetables, I have never experienced it. The vegetables to me look as if their canned or frozen and overcooked. It's really too bad as many of the employees are so nice but the food issue or or reaction to any changes that need to be made

Arbor Terrace was a nice clean facility. They have assisted living and Memory Care. Everyone was nice. The residents were happy and smiling. When I toured the memory care facility clean and well-kept. What I did not like was the rooms did not have a shower in the bathroom. They had a communal Spa type shower room with several large stalls. My mother would not be comfortable with that.

It is a difficult decision for a family to place a loved one into memory care once their dementia has progressed. We chose Harbor Chase based upon the atmosphere and caring staff, unfortunately it is very expensive and additional costs keep coming up. Just another example of an industry that prays upon the elderly and their family's emotions during trying times.

Nice facility. Clean. Friendly. Assisted Living with Memory Care Wings. We’re looking for something smaller, more intimate for Mom.

Courteous, respectful, but the staff. Clean facilities. Offers many activities for residence. Food below average. We can [Name removed] behind average because of the staff. Growing pains because of a change in our leadership – hopefully they will be resolved.

Only independent living: 80 apps, 72 occupied. Currently finishing a renovation. We saw more workers than residents. Need to revisit when work is done. Fitness area is trivial. Library is tribal. Meals: breakfast, soup at noon and full dinner. Fronts on 6 lane highway. Not much area, that we saw, around the building. The walking group crosses into an adjacent townhouse development and walks the streets. Parking is outside. The model apartments are roomy, full kitchen with dishwasher, in/unit washer and dryer. If we gave up our, we'd need transportation to a suitable fitness center, like the Reston Y. Will revise if we don't don't find a higher rated (ours) facility.
