Although the Vantage at Cityview had some amazing people in Memory care, the overall experience is way over-rated. Cleanliness of Memory Care and staff to patient ratio is way low on the scale. Food is moderate at best. Activities is very good but cost does not match overall amenities. Raised my Moms rent $770/month with no additional care. Higher management is raping the elderly at limited income with no regard for any additional care or amenities. Jolie is phenomenal at being in charge of Memory care but as with corporate America the higher ups are stuffing their pockets at the expense of our elderly and mentally challenged loved ones. A disgrace. I'd do my homework before admitting my loved one to the Vantage.

Overall I am disappointed. It is not as advertised in the beginning to me and there have been many issues. The biggest area for improvement would be the food and the dining room service. I would recommend the facility, but with reservations.

Our family had an in person tour with The Sheridan at Cooper City and overall we thought their tour experience and community was nice, but at the end of the day it was just not going to be the best fit for our loved one.

They have a great sales team. Their onboarding/welcoming was terrible but partly due to the pandemic. My loved ones felt lost and they made them stay in their room for the first week. The community is very poor at following through with maintenance and other requests, probably because they are short staffed. And billing is very confusing. The place is immaculate and most of the staff are very nice. They do sometimes "barge in" to my loved one's apartment unannounced but that has improved. They need reminders for housekeeping, handing out meds can take 20-40 minutes waiting on line. Small complaints overall I guess. I wish my loved ones were happier there, but honestly, I don't think they would be happy anywhere.

I think the director should care more about those here and not just sales. Almost everyone is medically compromised and I am not. They lied about that. Programs offered in the building are not challenging enough. Everything is done for the least mentally healthy people. I am obviously not happy about choice, but I don't know if other places I looked would be any better.

We picked this community becasue it was highly recommend, tour and presentation was good, and close to my house. They have had a lot of food directors, and staffing seems to be an issue. Sometimes the food is good, and sometimes it's not, which is a major issue amongst the residents.. Most of the people are great. They work hard and do their best. On the other hand, the director of the place is not transparent, lacks communication, and resolving issues. She's not real good at admitting when there is an issue. I want to feel like our concerns are important, since we are a paying customer. They could also improve on, fixing the transporation bus for the residents.

It's a nice place, and it was clean. There were activities, and they provide a report of weekly reports, and they would report that my loved one was in attendance, and they were not there. That was deceitful. They need to offer the services, that they advertise. For what we are paying, they need to resolve any staffing issues. The staff was very nice.

Terrible onboarding experience with multiple errors made delaying our loved ones move in by over a week. Also trouble getting response from calls and emails to nursing director led to errors in medication. Would probably have moved our loved one out but it was a difficult move. Direct caregivers are good with our loved one and helped settle them in. Hopefully all will continue to work out

As far as suggestions for improvement, a couple of things: 1. Maintenance for example, there are so many little things that need to be fixed or for the safety of the residents they don't address. 2. Food is not good in restaurant that is included in my mom's monthly rent. So the added expense of having to cook meals is an expense not expected. The safety thing is what is most concerning. For awhile they left the back gate open, so anyone could get in and roam the property. Another issue is their doggy park, it has no lights and not even ground or sidewalk so someone with walker or wheel chair it is impossible to take their dog there, and because the ground is uneven I worry my mom could fall.

Arbor Terrace was probably our 2nd choice, partly due to location. They didn't have attractive grounds like another community does.

They are sometimes short staffed. The staff is good. My loved one did not like the food. Compared to other places, it's more affordable. We picked this community, because they had a prefurnished respite care room, the cost was good, and they allowed my loved one, to pay on a monthy basis with no upfront cost.

We toured with The Solana Doylestown and thought the facility was nice. For us the location was a little far. The location that it is in, the traffic to get in and out of there is terrible and I just did not want to have to deal with that every time I visited.

Our family had an in-person tour and we waited quiet awhile for someone to come and get us and we just felt they were very pushy on the sale side of things and we felt very rushed.

Tour was nice

Initially the experience was 5 stars, the director [name removed] that was there from [date removed] was just so impressive and great to work with. However once she left certain things just dropped off. We are not a needy family, but when it comes to getting things done for our loved one the response time is extremely slow and sometimes takes day/weeks to get a response so that could be improved.

Imagine you have trusted me with care of your mother and you ask me where she is and I say she is in her room. Then the hospital calls and you call me again and I say "oh my staff said that that they tried to reach you". Then she dies in the hospital and 2 days later you go to see [name removed], the Director of the facility and you ask "where is my mother now?" And she says "She is in the hospital." This is not imagination. This is my experience at Barrington in Ft Myers today. If you love someone, do not "leave:" them there. They never took the time (it takes about a minute) to call the hospital and ask about [name removed]. They never took the time to leave me a voice-mail when she was taken to the hospital after suffering a stroke. They do NOT... repeat do NOT, care, repeat CARE about their "customers".

We toured HarborChase of Prince Williams Commons and it was a very nice community. The people were wonderful, the food looked good, and they offered a lot of activities. It was a lovely place, but it was a bit too big for our preference. With a place that big, people may not have much of an opportunity to meet and mingle. We chose another community because HarborChase was too big and too expensive.

Our family had an in person tour and all of the staff members we met with were nice, and the gentlemen that took us around was very informative. However what they offered just was not going to fit our loved ones needs.

I would suggest you look for a younger community, as this community has an older senior population. The rugs and carpeting in the community are filthy. The communication with the staff is good. There is a full kitchen in the apartment and a washer and dryer connections in the unit.

It's a friendly place, but I've had some issues. When I visited, they made a point of letting me know that their doctor is a geriatric specialist, which swayed me in their direction when selecting a place. But as it turned out, she never came to the facility, and she never saw my loved one. She has a physician's assistant who goes around to the facility, and I did not find the PA to be very forthcoming with his treatments. Also, when I went to check them out, they told me they have a community fee, as a lot of places do. And Arbor Terrace's was the highest of the places I looked at. When I asked if there was anything they could do, they said they could waive it, which I thought was very generous. But when I got my first statement, it showed a credit for a "marketing concession". So when it was submitted to our long term care insurance, LTC docked my reimbursement by the amount of the community fee. Neither LTC nor Arbor Terrace would listen to me, so I'm out that considerable community fee. There is someone now at Arbor Terrace trying to work it out, so we'll see how that goes. You also have to pay a month in advance, and I'm still waiting on Arbor Terrace to refund the prorated amount after moveout. The place was generally clean, aside from a few things I brought to their attention. The staff and the residents were friendly. Unlike most other facilities, they had quite a few male residents, as well as some male staff, which was a more comfortable experience for my loved one. The size of the place and the layout was good for him with his cognitive issues (not too large/confusing). Overall it was a decent place, but the financial issues have just been very stressful.
