I felt like, I was oversold on what could be delivered. For the amount of money, the day to day should have been better. f

This was very old and had dated décor. It has small and a dark dining room. I knew it was a no from the get go.

Even in view of covid, the activities were sparse, staff generally were insufficient and dining facility regimen was poorly thought out for resdents with hearing and sight impairment to master the menu. There were certain long term staff members that were considerate and dedicated, but there were many agency employees who came and went. I am sure independent living is lovely, would not recommend the assisted living side of this facility.

Lies lies lies! They tell you 1 price and then charge another and won’t give you the info about what they are charging so much more for. Not enough staff for the residents would never recommend this place to anyone. Also leaves residents in the shower alone, which leads to falling.

We do understand that staffing shortages are an issue for everyone, however they do need to hire more workers. We were never told they were short staffed until our loved ones moved in. The things that were promised to our loved ones have not been happening so it is just not meeting the expectations.

Management is unresponsive, food is awful, lack of servers is laughable. Paying to be served in dining room and often there is no service and my parents have to retrieve their food and bring it to their apt to eat it.

Some employees were good, but were fired or left because of awful management. They are unorganized, make mistakes with meds frequently, don't do laundry when you're paying for them to (you might wait weeks), don't give baths when you're paying for them to, don't respect residents' needs or wishes. Personal items are at high risk of disappearing, with no accountability by Sunrise. This place is really bad and my brother had a lot of bad experiences there. I would never recommend it.

I didn't care for the community. All the residents are in one building such as assisted living and independent living. I didn't like the staff, and felt they were pushy.

One person to care for too many clients. Can not meet the needs or safety of residents. Employees r kind but r unable to truly care for Ur family member as dementia increases. Truly not the place for family members with dementia as disease progresses. The aides r that truly work hard r not paid enough. U can certainly tell the ones who don’t like their job. Seems to not explain they can not meet ur family needs as their disease progresses.

Our family had an in person tour and the staff were very pleasant to speak with but it was just not going to work out for our loved one. It was a smaller community so they had less amenities. The rooms and furniture were very depressing, the furniture was just very old. Also the bathrooms were not wheel chair accessible and there was just not activities and not stimulation.

I did not like it. It felt like walking into a prison.

Sunrise of Granite Run was a nice place but it just seemed too crowded to us. It was also very close to the road and we felt like if the residents went outside that would not be safe. We told them that my mom was diabetic and that she had dietary restrictions and they told us that they do not adhere to those.

The assessment was only four questions long and this shocked me, as some of the other communities were doing longer assessments.

My mother moved into Huntington a few months ago and so far the experience has been disappointing. Apparent staff shortages have currently halted meal service in the dining room, and sub-par meals are being delivered to the rooms in Styrofoam and plastic containers (and often cold). There is a general air of anger and frustration among the residents which is making a difficult transition even harder for my mom. Definitely, many of the amenities that my mother was told she'd be receiving are not currently available (although there has been no change in what she is charged every month!). I'm sure the pandemic is contributing to the staff shortage, but unless changes happen I would not feel comfortable in recommending this community at this time.

- We're in 3rd week of below average food due to changes in kitchen personnel. We suffered thru 6+ months of bad food during pandemic 1st year and are worried we're going into another period like that. - Also in 3rd week of covid outbreak; each week is different handful of staff/residents in isolation. This may be our new normal thru next winter because vaccines/ boosters seem not to prevent mild symptoms. It's the residents with cancer who are most on edge; one resident recovered after infusion treatment brought into her apt. - Housekeeping is reduced to every other week due to staff shortage. - Common areas & dining room slated for much-needed upgrade this year. - Rents going up now 8-9% each year under new ownership; 2BRs away from busy street may all run >[price removed] per month, studios approaching $[price removed].

I was told my room would be ready at mid morning. TV didn't work and when I arrived at 10:00 it was not ready and was told it would be ready at 12:30. At 12:25 I entered the room and found the bed not made, 3/4 full trash can, dirty and wet towels on the floor and no clean towels.

I loved the staff and the sales person. He was very personable and gave great information. But the facility itself was older, and I was just not impressed with it.

The 2 stars are because they were available for respite and we were desperate. Father went in first then mother went after hospital. They had a room and a bed. But the “enhanced assistance “ was paid for but essentially nonexistent. No showers for either of my parents although paid for twice a week. When this was discovered provided first shower on a Thursday and second on a Saturday Clothes we’re supposed to be washed folded and put away. Not washed without reminder and not put away. Meals terrible, delayed (main course 30-40 minutes after sit down, ran out of basics like milk. Staff did not check on them. Gave opportunities to improve with little results. No supervision of staff.

Sunrise at FlatIrons was not for us. The lady who was showing us around seemed disinterested which did not give us a good feeling. The facility has multiple stories and the room that they had available was just about as far away from the dining room and activities that it could be. The atmosphere was also very noisy.

For the price, the care is unacceptable. You have to check in on your loved one a lot to make sure they are getting take care of. If they have complex health issues, do not go there. They deal with issues by a discount of payment before addressing their own issues. My loved one developed a wound while there that was not properly addressed for days. It could have resulted in further health issues. The communication was sub par from nursing staff. Medication was mismanaged during her time their. She didn't get medications she was supposed to get on numerous occasions.
