Sunrise Senior Living

Assisted living was nice, but memory care, which we were looking for, was separate and not as nice. It seemed really nice for general assisted living, but not so much for memory care.

Lovely staff, needs updating and they had small rooms.

This community was outdated, the director didn't seem to have much energy. The rooms were smaller and not as clean as I had hopped.

We had a good tour with Sunrise of Cinco Ranch but after they told me they were full and we would have to be on a waiting list. They did not seem to interested in selling the place.

The Courtyard at Lakewood is in a great, quiet location. It is in a neighborhood across from a church. They have a therapy program on site called Legacy and that has been a big plus. My loved one is thriving from the care. They are supposed to have housekeepers, but they are short staffed so the rooms are not being cleaned like they were supposed to. They are supposed to have transportation but they do not have a bus driver and we cant get an idea of what their plan is to hire one. A lot of things that were promised in the beginning that were big draws for us are not being carried through with due to this staffing shortage. I think there are a lot of improvements that could be made, it has great potential.

Seemed most residents were memory care and only saw about 20-30 residents during the tour. Great community overall.

This community was not the best community for my loved one. This community was expensive. I wrote the cost and the service that was provided and I ranked all of the communities that I was interested in. It just is personally not my way to go. I had to find a middle ground to make the best living situation for my loved one.

They are currently understaffed here.. It is a nice looking community. The staff seem friendly to the residents and families. It would be helpful for the staff to monitor the call buttons more effectively.

I would recommend you shop around prior to deciding on this community. The staffing is horrible at this community; however, it could be like this everywhere. The food is decent for my loved one, probably better than average.

Our family had an in person tour and it is a very pretty building but we just did not get a comfortable feeling right away. Every resident there had to use a walker or wheelchair and we didn't know if that was for safety reason or safety precautions. Also the lunch menu for that day was just a piece of pizza or a PB&J which we did not think was very adequate. For the value you would be paying a month, we thought more would be offered.

Some improvements Sunrise can work to improve on would be their communication with the families, they make promises but yet there is no follow through at times. Also they could respond to their patients quicker when they ask for assistance.

This community wasn't a good fit for us.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour was just okay, they were very cryptic when explaining their different levels of care. They didn't feel very trust worthy and we felt we would get nickel and dimed for everything. It is a nice facility, but also the medical management was twice as much as any other community we had looked at.

I was not a fan of Sunrise of Chesterfield. I felt like it was dark and dingy and I did not like the room arrangements.

Took a couple of weeks for the staff to get into the rhythm of caring for my loved one and her specific needs. After everyone got their footing things started going really well. Activities are below sub par and a lot of them are volunteer led and a lot of the times the volunteer does not show. I do not see enough variety or enthusiasm from the staff in regards to the activities. With Covid I have not seen or participated in as much of the activities as I had at the previous place before covid.

This community was okay but there was another community that made us more comfortable that we ended up going with.

This is a very friendly place but right now they are understaffed. The staff are not providing a clean environment especially in the dining room. They have no to none activities for the residents. They watch a lot of t.v. and there is someone there who is not really fit for the activities director. Memory care is not treated well and they are supposed to be getting together to make a new calendar for the activities but we have not seen changes yet.

Nurses/care staff are great. Property is beautiful and well care for. Unhappy with office staff. Do not give them access to your loved one's bank account. We were overcharged by several thousand dollars in rent. Maintenance issues also not handled in a timely manner. Quality of food is poor.

After walking through Sunrise for our tour, it did not meet my expectations.

This is very difficult to evaluate, I know that there is a shortage of staffing everywhere which is impacting the care. I would like to see more proactive attention to the individual needs of the residents in memory care, things have been known to slip through the cracks but I know they are working on it. They do have a great team and some of their caretakers are absolutely outstanding and go above and beyond. They have been receptive to my communication as well and I appreciate that.
