It was fine. Wasn't the right environment for my family member.

Sunrise was a good community, but the size was too big for my loved one.

The community was the same look as other communities we toured; however, Sunrise didn't provide a lot of follow up.

This was a nice community. It wasn't as bright or as clean as another community I toured.

I toured Sunrise on Old Meridian and I didn't care for the layout. For me, I sensed that it wasn't totally clean. I know that sometimes there are residents with incontinence, so I did smell urine. The marketing person was very nice, but the memory care area felt small and cramped. I also didn't want my mom to be in a memory care unit on an upper level; theirs was located on the 3rd floor. I chose another community because Sunrise wasn't a good fit for us.

I feel like one of the issues is we dropped off my loved one, and that was it from Sunrise. There was no introduction to the services, no meeting with her, no introduction to the residents. It was just - here you are. So after being there for a while, she still isn't sure of the laundry policy and when they should be cleaning her apartment. She didn't know she could get food in between meals until recently. Besides bingo and a couple of very low cost things, there have been very few activities. She really wanted this apartment because there's an exterior door on it that leads to a patio, but it turns out they don't want her to use that door, which was never communicated to her initially so she's pretty upset about it. I feel like they made it sound a lot better than what we're actually experiencing.

Cleanliness didn't seem to be at the top of their list. And they have a large, sweeping staircase that I can’t believe they don't have restricted in some fashion, at least at night. I can’t believe people haven't wandered and had an incident down it.

The location of Sunrise was further away than we would have liked. They only had an upper level apartment available which would not have worked. The facility itself was not as clean as some others we looked at and the atmosphere was more dark.

This tour review was okay. I wanted my loved one to be as close to me as possible to make sure that I was able to get to her easily and this community would not have allowed that.

Sunrise of McLean was a bigger facility than we were looking for. And there were a couple of other turnoffs there. 1) They made a point to keep telling us how engaged they try to keep the residents. Yet when we were there for an hour, they had all the wheelchairs around a television, and some of the residents were sleeping. So there was not really any engagement. 2) The ratio of staff to residents was a little disconcerting: about 6-8 residents for every 1 staff person.

The tour at Sunrise of Jacksonville was great, and we really liked the place. But they kept changing things, and the price kept going up. To me, they weren’t straight forward with us from the beginning.

The staff members at Sunrise are some of the nicest and friendliness people and they really did try and want to do their best when it came to the care services but just like many other places they are under staffed. The dining experience is great, the table settings are nice, they have actual nice and real dinnerware. They offer a different variety of well balanced meals. They also have different drinks and desserts.

It wasn't the right fit for my loved one. He was sundowning really badly, yet they assured me they could care for him. And I paid extra to ensure that. Within less than a month, he had fallen four times that I know of. And with the last fall, he ended up going to the hospital. It's a beautiful place and well kept, but in terms of the care, they did not deliver on what they promised. And after moving him out, I had to fight them to get any kind of refund for the time he was in the hospital. The people who are more self sufficient seemed happy and seemed to do well there. But if your loved one has higher care needs, I don't think it's a good fit.

When our loved one moved in they said there would be a catholic priest that came to the community once a week which was so important to our loved one, has actually not been happening. Also our loved one has some blood sugar issues and they are not checking on them as much as they should, some expectations are just not being met.

The sales staff at Sunrise of Edina were not very good with communication or follow up after the tour and we just felt they were a little flaky. We did really really like this facility, but the downfall for us was it did not have a gym and my loved one like to workout once or twice a day. They also only had studios available and we were looking for something bigger than that.

My father was in the memory care center and I do not feel like they are set up well for memory care. The assisted living side seems to be good but the memory care side needs some help. My loved one has since then moved to another community. The staff were fair they weren't super friendly but they were okay for my loved one needs. We just did not feel like they were set up for memory care.

They just don't have enough help. Because of that, their services are not up to par. The staff are okay. The night staff seems to be very attentive to my loved one, but the day staff not so much. We give reminders, and then they don't follow through. Again, they are just so short-staffed. Their medical wellness center is awesome though. I give that 5 stars. And the apartment is lovely. But the care is just not up to par.

It feels like a home. Transportation they offer isn't. The caregivers are AMAZING people. All are so caring! They get to know the residents & connect. Different experience levels. There is always some one else willing to help & show them. They work together as a team. They never make you feel like you are bothering them. Sometimes they are a bit hurried & take a while to answer a call. On average it takes 5 min to get someone. Sometimes quicker and it has been as long as 20. 24 hour nurse would be nice I think maybe 3 nights they did not have one from like 11p.m. till 6a.m. My Mom was in a lot of pain there was no nurse at all. Had to wait 2 hours. Overall this is a nice place. ?? A bit overpriced in my opinion. Caregivers are also the servers @ dinner bringing food to tables. The meals are boring, too many peas. Not like the brochure at all. Limited selection, the "bistro" has an apple & 2 orange, that's it. They all are kind & you can just feel the sincere care.

My loved one is getting her medications very late at night and they do not take my loved one to get food. We are just having some issues right now.
