Sunrise Senior Living

My Mom was in this facility for a time, and it was a very nice place. It was extremely clean and well kept. The staff were great, very caring and attentive, and they were always sure to keep in touch with us to make sure we were in the loop. We moved Mom out because we wanted something smaller and more homey for her, and we found something that was a slightly better fit for her, but I would recommend this place to anyone.

You really have to be in the sweet spot of what they do to get the value.

We liked that it is a smaller community, with a more tightknit group of residents and staff. Everybody knows everybody else. It's a very nice looking and clean facility. The food is passable, there is room for improvement there, and they could use more activities to keep the residents active.

This was a nice looking community, and we liked what we saw during our tour. We were considering this location for my in-laws, but the location was not ideal for us, and we were offered a good time-limited deal by another community.

Everything at this community looked great, and the staff were very friendly during our tour. The only problem we had was that the residents and the activities were more laid-back than we were wanting. We were hoping for somewhere with very active residents since my Mom is active herself. Otherwise, everything looked perfectly fine!

This community has been great. The staff is very friendly, and the residents are aware and responsive. The staff is really on top of the care of the residents, Mom has fallen once or twice and they help her immediately and called to let me know, and if someone doesn't show up for dinner they check in on them. Mom also loves the activities, she's been really enjoying the cooking classes they do on Saturday. Mom wanted to stay at home with in-home help, which didn't work out, but the staff here has really helped her settle in and make her feel at home, which makes me feel so much better!

This was a very nice community, we saw it when looking for options for my mother. Everything I saw looked very nice, and there seemed to be lots of activities to keep the residents active. The level of care and cost were a bit higher than what Mom was needing, however.

My loved one stayed a short time at this community, and what I saw seemed nice enough. Circumstances did not allow her to stay long, but that was not the fault of the community.

We toured several different Sunrise communities when we were looking for options for Mom, and they were all very nice places, across the board. We settled on Sunrise of Basking Ridge, but we were pleased with what we saw at this community.

They have a very nice facility, it is well kept and well appointed. One of the key factors in our decision were that we were confident that they could meet the care, despite my mom's specific needs. Priority was consistent care, which had been an issue with homecare, and which Sunrise definitely provide. No matter the day or shift, the staff knows Mom's routine. Only complaint is that sometimes small details were overlooked, I've had to give Mom's wheelchair a wipedown due to dust when I vist.

Dad seems to enjoy this community. We moved my Dad here from Florida. The price was much higher than he was paying but it was located conveniently. The food could be better. Looked at a few other communities but this was the one the we were most pleased with.

There are a couple of things that I am constantly concerned about, his closet where his clothes are is always in shambles. Things are mixed together, he had clothes that weren't his and clothes that were missing that are his, even though his name is on them. They do laundry all together with everyones clothes. He is dressed nicely and his clothes are matching. They don't put a sweater on him everyday which he loves but that is ok. They also seem to have a constant need for supplies, the wipes, gloves, etc, and I wonder why they don't offer a fee to cover the supplies. Sometimes they don't tell us that they need it until the last minute. They have a lot of activities listed on the calendar and they don't happen. We have gone there for the activities and then they didn't happen. They had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with lots of people and they handled everything nicely. The food is pretty good. Thanksgiving dinner was out of this world, really tasty! I chose this because it is nearby, and was beautiful and friendly and they have a dog on the assisted living and on the alzheimers floor.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. My parents have nothing but praise for their new home.

They have movie nights, wine and cheese parties, they go out to shopping, etc. I think that the only thing that they could improve on, as with everyone else, is that it seems like they are a little short handed. The waitstaff that is serving the meals are the same people that are transporting the residents that can't get down to the dining room themselves. They sit there for a long, long time waiting for the meal to be served and cleaned up, and there have been some complaints about that. We chose for a couple reasons. They have a room on the ground floor and my mom was wheelchair bound and I didn't think that she would navigate using the elevator all the time. I went the last day of the month so they gave her a double room and she has a really nice private area.

the place is incredible friendly and bright and cheerful. Very happy with all the staff. It is a bit confusing trying to figure out what one needs in the beginning. I would recommend a check list of the most important things to know when checking in and for the first few days. Rules for the clinic are very confusing. Gotten conflicting signals on how it works.

I was very pleased with sunrise. When my husband had a stroke and went to the hospital they commented on what good shape his skin was in. I thought they paid attention to him and seemed to know him as a person. I was always welcome there and I think he was content there. For a while there I thought maybe he was left in the wheelchair too long but that seemed to change. I like that the staff seemed to know him individually. Sometimes I would be thinking where is the staff?Other times they were so attentive. I think the food could have been better. I think that it was nice that they said they liked his smile. One day when he was wanting to go home the activities director asked him what he would do if he was home. He said he would get a beer so she got him a beer. I thought that was beyond the call of duty to do that. It was nice.

This community was practically identical to other Sunrise that we visited. Like a cookie cutter. The staff was quite nice. They had a large dog in the lobby that was friendly to everyone. For some reason, my mom hated this community, but she ended up moving into the other Sunrise. It didn't make much sense. She's happy where she's at now so I'm sure she would have been happy here.

It seems like there is any number of activities, but unfortunately I can't speak to them. My mom is really not able to be involved. Through no fault of the staff she really declined, and she has already been moved to "Memory Lane." They are doing everything that they can. She is really trying their patience and professionalism, but they are handling it quite well. This community is identical to the other Sunrise that we visited, right down to the formula of having a large dog in the front that is friendly to everyone.
