Sunrise Senior Living

The rooms were the same as the other Sunrise I visited. The rooms just seem a little on the dark side because of the layout. I received a very thorough tour of both the independent living area and the assisted living area. It is a very nice facility, and all the staff we passed or met were very friendly. I like that all caregivers have to go through a "Sunrise University" for training. Also, at the end of the tour, [name removed] worked up a sample estimate of the per day cost for my mother. This was the only place I visited that did this.

Enjoyed the community but not yet ready to commit to living in that type of home environment.

This is an absolutely beautiful facility. It is still relatively new, and I feel they may still be adjusting to staffing needs. I really liked that each resident wears their own personal medical alert pendant. My tour felt a little more superficial than other places I have toured, but that may have been because the coordinator I was supposed to meet with was tied up in a presentation that ran late. It happens. As much as I feel that this might be a good place for my mom, I dont think there is any way she could afford it.

Very clean and the staff is friendly. The amenities are great, I am impressed with their use of technology to ensure all of the staff have access to the residents info such as notes from the doctor, food restrictions, etc. The cost for medication management does not seem to be in line with the service making the overall cost out of reach for our needs

This was the first place I visited, so I really had nothing to which to compare it. The rooms did seem on the small size, and I dont think my mom would enjoy living in such a confined space. On the other hand, the facility was clean and bright. They also have a wide variety of activities and programs to keep the residents active and occupied. I'll have to wait and see what I think after I visit more facilities. Overall, a nice place, though.

Liked the Terrace Club option. Room was VERY small. Don't know how two people would work in it. Liked the Museum of Morristown classes, working with St. Hubert's, local schools. Might call back to see other room layouts if available.

Location was very convenient. Really liked the Sales Dir, Activities Dir. Met with a few residents. Would have liked this as an option. THEY DON'T TAKE MEDICAID. ELIMINATED.

Similar to Wayne. Room layout was ok. Sales Dir. was a sales person, seemed a little too eager.

Liked the Terrace Club option. Room was VERY small. Don't know how two people would work in it.

Very beautiful facility at a great location. Wonderful staff.

I like the warm friendly atmosphere. Pleasant knowledgeable staff. Slightly smaller facility than Sunrise at Siegen but nice. Residents looked comfortable and well attended.

My mother is currently at this facility. The staff is very attentive and caring. The food is very good.

Sunrise of East Setauket is beautiful, with calming neutral colors and large windows, allowing lots of natural light inside. The staff is personable and friendly. I wish they offered more trips out into the community; they offer very few. We also have had a hard time getting them to stop giving our mother too much sugar, which is detrimental to someone with Alzheimer’s. There is sugar water and dessert with every lunch and dinner.There also isn’t enough exercise. Our mother loves to walk, but they have her sitting for hours throughout the day. The only walks she gets are when we visit. There is a paved path around the building, and plenty of indoor walking space. But she is safe there and settling in, for the most part. Overall, it’s a nice place, worth considering as an option.

I visited this one, but their memory care was not suitable for our father. We are realizing that we prefer a place that offers levels of memory care. And if the budget would permit we would like a facility with a nice outdoor area

Still have not seen a 2 bedroom unit. Units I have seen are small. Facilities are clean and attractive. Personnel are very nice. Three meals a day are included. Could be a good option.

My spouse is very happy with his apartment at Sunrise of Leawood. The staff works extremely hard at caring for and entertaining the residents. It is a joy to visit the community and to see how content the residents are. Activities are planned for all day seven days a week. My spouse is pleased with the meals and the caregivers. I would recommend Sunrise to anyone needing a warm inviting place for a loved one.

Very nice modern facility. A bit costly, and lacks a homey feel.

The move was difficult for my Mom but the staff has made it their mission to help her get settled. There have been a few miscommunications but we are getting everything worked out so Mom feels at home there. The other residents have made her feel very welcome. The help we received from A Place For Mom was invaluable in our search.

This is really a 4.5 Star rating. Much more spacious an active common area. Very bright and well-maintained. The residents were very active in the common areas. [Name removed] spoke directly to dad and described the facility, and their philosophies very thoroughly. The rooms are small. They only have studios and “companion suites“. The companion suites are two small unless you’re in the one with turret. Sunrise only provides assisted living and memory care, no independent living. The assistance provided is individualized. The cost of assisted services are based on a point scale for which certain totals determine the assisted living level. They have a planned maintenance/renovation schedule rotating every four years. Again, a really nice place with lots of tasteful decoration, but the individual units are small. Will Dad even fit in the suite?

We loved this facility and will keep it in mind. Turns out it's just over our budget at this time.
